"I am delighted to be able to help Papertrey Ink celebrate its tenth anniversary during Stamp-a-faire 2017! My anniversary material of choice was wool; I love how thick and smooth Papertrey’s wool felt is, as well as how cleanly it can be die-cut. While browsing Pinterest a few months ago, I ran across some darling felt cookies from Sweet Emma Jean’s Etsy shop. It occurred to me that I probably could die-cut cookie shapes by repurposing a few of the the abundance of dies that I already have. My Stamp-a-faire project is a collection of assorted wool felt cookies. As a bonus, I packaged them in a PTI large heart tin and created an accompanying gift card. Enjoy!"
- Die cut cookie parts and glue or hand stitch as desired. (I used primarily a blanket stich or locking hem stitch, demoed in my accompanying video. I used fabric glue mostly for the tiny parts such as adding sprinkles, chocolate chips, or fudge stripes.)
- If you want the cookies to be more substantial, either lightly stuff with polyester fiberfill, or cut an extra base layer to add thickness.
Specific Cookies (Helpful hint: Refer to accompanying video.)
SUGAR COOKIES
- Cut two of cookie base, one layer of frosting, and as many varied sprinkles as you want.
- Carefully glue sprinkles onto frosting with fabric glue. Stitch frosting to top of cookie base.
- Stitch frosted cookie top to bottom of cookie base, adding a small amount of polyester fiberfill between layers if you wish.
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
- Cut two layers of cookie base and as many chocolate chips as you want.
- Carefully glue chocolate chips onto cookie top with fabric glue.
- Stitch cookie top to cookie base, adding a small amount of polyester fiberfill between layers if you wish.
SANDWICH COOKIES
- Cut two layers of cookie base and three layers of cookie filling.
- Stitch or glue filling layers together.
- Stich or glue cookie top and cookie base to cookie filling. (I hem-stitched the three filling layers together, then hem-stitched the top and bottom cookie edges separately for decorative purposes only. Finally, I glued the cookie top and bottom to the filling.)
SUGAR WAFER COOKIES
- Cut two layers of cookie base and three layers of cookie filling.
- Stack all five layers together, and stitch or glue them. (I hem-stitched all five layers at once since the stitching holes were created by the die.)
FUDGE RIPPLE COOKIES
- Cut one or two layers of cookie base per cookie, and one layer of fudge per cookie.
- Next, cut small circle from center of cookie and fudge layers. Use scissors or a rotary trimmer to cut thin strips of fudge from Dark Chocolate Wool Felt.
- Carefully glue fudge stripes onto cookie top with fabric glue.
- Stitch cookie top to cookie base, adding a small amount of polyester fiberfill between layers if you wish.

- WOOL FELT: Vintage Cream, Kraft or Fine Linen, Lemon Tart or Harvest Gold, Sweet Blush, Dark Chocolate, Hibiscus Burst
- DIES: Limitless Layers 2-1/2” Circle, Limitless Layers 1-3/4” Circle, Rainbow Circles, Damask Snowflakes, Stitched Pinked Edge Label, Bountiful Blessings
- OTHER: needle and thread, fabric glue, polyester fiberfill/batting (optional), scissors/rotary cutter
Gift Card
- STAMPS: Friendship Jar, Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers
- INK: black ink
- PAPER: Natural White, Sweet Blush, Dark Chocolate, Hibiscus Burst, X-Press It Blending Card, Sweet Blush Paper Pack

- OTHER: Copic markers, Rustic Twine, foam tape, glue

I'm already thinking about all of the little girls in my life who would adore that tin full of felt cookies! And how clever that they are all made with basic shape dies too! There is no end to to the customization possibilities, especially if you start adding sequins, beads and other bits and pieces! We can't wait to see your take on this challenge!
