Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
I have always loved the vibrant colors of watermelon and how festive it feels. This large scale version is so much fun to work with and really offers up so many design possibilities.
The fruit was "grounded" by adding a frame cut from the new Infinity Frames die using Sweet Blush cardstock. Note the way the frame acts as the third pop of light pink in addition to the lightest parts of the watermelon rinds.
The little seed cut-outs are such a nice little detail. Adding Glossy Accents to them makes them look that much more realistic.

One of the fun things about these citrus dies is that you can adapt them to any variety of citrus you choose just by changing up the colors. Here I have orange, lime and grapefruit.
The bold sentiments from Fruit Salad Sentiments can easily be used to create backgrounds and borders. Here I started with a dark ink color at the top and worked my way down with lighter ink colors. This leads the eye from top to bottom where the focal point is.
All of the citrus slices were cut from white cardstock in one pass of my die machine, and all of the color added with Copies. This is a fast and easy way to create with multi-layer dies such as these.

I'm loving the way the details of this Fruit Salad: Pineapple turned out! It is so easy to create an amazing focal point when the dies do most of the work for you like this!
I started wit a mat cut with the Mix & Mat: Postal dies. The sentiment was heat embossed in the upper corner, then I used two post-it notes to mask and sponge the upper corner and highlight the sentiment.
The small flower die-cuts are from Fruit Salad: Citrus, but they really pair well with many of the other Fruit Salad dies.
The three tier top of the pineapple can be layered perfectly like this or slightly off-kilter for a more artistic approach. If you wanted to, small beads or french knots could be added to each of the holes in the base of the pineapple.

Who doesn't love cherries?! They are a classic motif that never seems to go out of style. These extra large die-cut versions are an awesome focal point that can be added to all kinds of projects. I opted to create a summer party invitation.
The pieces of the cherries were all watercolored using ink refills. After they dried I went back in and added a few dotted accents with a white gel pen.
The two layer leaves feature great little design details which I highlighted with additional white gel pen dots.
For the party sentiment, I wanted an ombré look for the word "party", so I inked it up in Hibiscus Burst and added a little Raspberry Fizz just along the top edge.

You feel like a true artist when working with multi-step images that are this well designed! Betsy always thinks of everything in both design and function. On the Wagon really exemplifies this.
I stamped the sentiment in the lower corner of the card front, then masked above it adding a little sponged Aqua Mist ink to create some "ground". After stamping and die-cutting the palm tree, I adhered it in place extending over the edge of the card front a bit. The stamped car and surf board were adhered with foam tape for dimension.
