We've got some very exciting new products to showcase today, including a stamp set and dies that are just so clever and that are PERFECT for those ever-elusive masculine cards we always seem to struggle with! You're going to love how easy these stamps and dies are to use, and you'll be making wonderful cards for all the guys in your life in no time!
Put a little heart and sole into your next project! Perfect for the guys in your life (and hard-working girls, too!), the Heart & Sole set features two different shoe prints. The athletic shoe can be customized with a few different words, designed to fit perfectly within the sole’s pattern. The work boot sole can be customized with a variety of sentiments for a fun touch. There’s a great selection of other sentiments, covering many occasions from Father’s Day to encouragement, graduation, and more. This set is great for dads, teens, and more!

My first project uses the super cool athletic sneaker sole. I think one of the things stampers find most challenging about masculine projects is that that masculine based images seldom offer many options for color play. Since most card design starts with color, this can serve as a road block. But with this particular multi-step image in Heart & Sole, you can play with color to your heart's content, just like you would with floral images.
I decided to build mine using Dark Indigo, Blueberry Sky and Simply Chartreuse. I love how you can customize the sole too, by using the "Dad" inset as shown here, or some of the others included. This definitely isn't limited to Dad cards!
This little banner from Initial Sentiments: Birthday was a great little addition to the side of the focal point block. It helped to break up the squareness of the design and add a little more character.
- STAMPS: Heart & Sole, Initial Sentiments: Birthday
- INK: Dark Indigo, Blueberry Sky, Simply Chartreuse, Spring Rain
- PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Classic Kraft
Not all designs call for an extra large focal point like the shoe soles in this set. So why not shrink them and open up a whole new world of possibilities?
I stamped a background for the soles using a small rectangle included in the set. One of the included sentiments tucked in nicely underneath that.
The soles were stamped onto Polyshrink using Noir Palette ink and then shrunk with my heat gun. I adhered them in place with a little Glossy Accents.
- STAMPS: Heart & Sole
- INK: Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Americana, Melon Berry, Saffron Spice, True Black, Noir Palette
- PAPER: Stamper's Select White
- OTHER: Transparent Polyshrink (Lucky Squirrel), Baker's Twine
I don't know about many of you, but my Dad is a simple no frills kind of guy. So in creating this super quick card, I kept him in my mind.
By keeping it to basically a single layer, it's easy to just play around with stamp placement to form a collage of sorts. The label for the sole was added with a separate piece of cardstock for emphasis. Don't you just love the phrase on the label? "My hero wears boots." This totally describes my Dad, for sure!
The sentiment adds some nice balance to the size of the stamped sentiment.
- STAMPS: Heart & Sole
- INK: Cocoa Bean, Fresh Snow
- PAPER: Classic Kraft, Olive Twist
Betsy Veldman is joining me today, featuring Heart & Sole.
Betsy outdid herself with this gorgeous creation. I love how she watered down the background that she stamped int he same colors as the focal point. It really helps to create coordination, but allows the focal point to still stand out.

- INK: Smokey Shadow, Soft Stone, Enchanted Evening
- PAPER: Smokey Shadow, Dark Indigo, Stamper’s Select White

There is nothing more "Dad" than work boots. The Grunge Me set is an excellent addition since it kind of simulates mud. The woodgrain texture on the main card base is an awesome addition too.

Dawn's use of color here is just fabulous. The way she echoed her shoe sole color scheme with the watercolored background helps to create visual balance.
