With those brief introductions out of the way, let's move onto the projects! You will notice lots of "tips" shared throughout the post. The tip images are embedded with the coordinating photo, so if you want to pin or save them as a reference, they will be all packaged together as single image!
My first project uses the new Quoted: Move Mountains set. I love how versatile this little mini can be, and the message the sentiment conveys has been so meaningful in my life, I am excited to be able to pass it along to others as well.
I heat embossed the images in white, then watercolored over them using Zig Clean Color Markers and a water pen.
The Mix & Mat: Flourishes frame can be so versatile. I cut the main frame twice, and trimmed the corners off as shown above. This could be adapted for nearly any shape or size.
- STAMPS: Quoted: Move Mountains
- INK: VersaMark, Canyon Clay
- PAPER: Canyon Clay, Summer Sunrise, watercolor paper
- DIES: Mix & Mat: Flourishes die
- OTHER: Zig Clean Color Brush Markers, water pen, White Filigree Embossing Powder
Here I am with the Quoted: Move Mountains set once again.
This time I wanted to add some color using Copic Markers. I have always loved the way they look on Kraft cardstock.
After you have stamped the banner over your base color, you can go back in and add a little shading to certain parts of the banner without fear of smearing the word. I also added a bit of a stitching detail around the outside edge using a white gel pen.
- STAMPS: Quoted: Move Mountains (available March 15th)
- INK: Fresh Snow, True Black
- PAPER: Classic Kraft, Stamper's Select White
- OTHER: Copic Markers. White Gel Pen
This card is super simple, but it is one of my favorites from today using the new Courage & Kindness set. I also used the dotted frame portion of the Mix & Mat die collection.
I am in LOVE with this pre-assembled, three-step floral cluster. There is one stamp for all those sweet flowers, another stamp with all the centers, and finally a third layer with all of the leaves. It comes together so quickly and easily, but looks absolutely amazing!
- STAMPS: Courage & Kindness (available March 15th)
- INK: Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Simply Chartreuse, Cocoa Bean
- PAPER: Stamper's Select White
- DIES: Mix & Mat: Flourishes die
There is something so cheery about this card, the large flowers from Courage & Kindness are so "happy"! Pair them up with the Year of Psalms: February sentiment, and you have a match made in heaven!
I stamped the florals first on a sheet of A2 white cardstock. These bright, bold colors just jump from the page.
Look at the detail in the flower centers! I just adore them!
- STAMPS: Courage & Kindness, Year of Psalms: February (available March 15th)
- INK: Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Blueberry Sky, Dark Indigo, New Leaf, True Black
- PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Blueberry Sky
The brushstroke lettering used in the Year of Psalms: March set is nothing short of fabulous, not to mention this is one of my favorite scriptures as well.
I used multiple ink colors on the feathers and sentiment. I inked them with the lightest color first (Lovely Lady), then added a tiny bit of Raspberry Fizz to the tip and Amethyst Allure to the bottom portion.
Since the feathers are two step images, I was able to go back over them and add the finer details in Amethyst Allure.
- STAMPS: Year of Psalms: March (available March 15th)
- INK: Amethyst Allure, Lovely Lady, Raspberry Fizz
- PAPER: Stamper's Select White
- OTHER: Liquid Pearls
I don't know about all of you, but I am pretty excited about Betsy's new Mix & Mat dies. As you can see, I have already used them in quite a few of my projects today.
On my next project I am using all three of the dies in the collection together.
I cut the pretty Ways to Say: Thank You die from my silver foil & cardstock creation. It almost looks like a fancy metallic accent you would purchase at the store. And I know I've already said it once, but I love the font Heather selected for this series! It's beautiful!
- STAMPS: Keep It Simple: Friendship (available March 15th)
- INK: VersaMark
- PAPER: Mint Julep, Aqua Mist, Silver Foil, Stamper's Select White, Vellum cardstock
- DIES: Mix & Mat: Flourishes dies, Ways to Say: Thank You die
- OTHER: Filigree White Embossing Powder
Anything can be gorgeous if you just sprinkle it with a little "rainbow"! This super simple card took only a few minutes to make and gives you yet another use for the versatile Mix & Mat dies.
I cut the diagonal stripe portion from white cardsotck. After removing the stripes, I colored them individually with Copic Markers. I adhered them in place and viola! I am really liking how quick and easy it is to grab the Ways to Say: Thank You set. I send out thank you cards ALL the time, so to have several different types of wording in an all inclusive set for such a popular occasion really makes it easy.
- STAMPS: Ways to Say: Thank you (available March 15th)
- INK: True Black
- PAPER: Stamper's Select White
- DIES: Mix & Mat: Flourishes die
- OTHER: Copic Markers
This is another easy card with a special clear window feature in the front cover. I think you are all going to really enjoy making creations for special friends using Keep It Simple: Friendship. It has some great wording in it that I know I personally will get a lot of use from.
I used the Courage & Kindness dies without the stamps, and instead just used solid cardstock.
- STAMPS: Keep It Simple: Friendship (available March 15th)
- INK: VersaMark
- PAPER: Autumn Rose, Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Simply Chartreuse, Classic Kraft, Clear Cardstock
- DIES: Mix & Mat: Flourishes die, Courage & Kindness dies
- OTHER: white gel pen, adhesive pearl
Stephanie Gold is joining me today with projects using Courage & Kindness and Ways to Say: Thank You.
Stephanie is letting the sentiment take center stage on this gorgeous project. There is something so soothing about all of those blues and greens.
- STAMPS: Courage and Kindness (available March 15th)
- PAPER: Stampers Select White, Simply Chartreuse
- INK: Enchanted Evening, Tropical Teal, Ripe Avocado, Black
- DIES: Courage and Kindness
- OTHER: Gold clip, Natural Twine, Glossy Accents
The bold background here really creates a dramatic project that is sure to be remembered by the recipient. I am also loving the way Stephanie created small blocks for her sentiments so they pop from the background.
- STAMPS: Courage & Kindness (available March 15th)
- PAPER: Stampers Select White, Smokey Shadow, Limeade Ice, Raspberry Fizz
- INK: Black, Smokey Shadow, Limeade Ice, Berry Sorbet
- DIES: Courage & Kindness, Horizontal Cover Plate
This project really takes a clever approach to a sentiment set. The dainty scalloped edge is the perfect complement to everything used in the design.
- STAMPS: Courage & Kindness, Ways to Say: Thank You (available March 15th)
- PAPERS: Soft Stone, Stampers Select White, New Leaf
- INK: Smokey Shadow, Black, Berry Sorbet, New Leaf
- DIES: Courage & Kindness, Ways to Say: Thank You, Don’t Forget To Write Kit
- OTHER: Natural Twine
Dawn McVey is joining me today in showcasing both of the new Year of Psalms sets, as well as the Mix & Mat: Flourishes die collection.
Dawn is known for her use of color, and this card does not disappoint. The strip of polka-dot vellum in the back paired with the twine really adds a special touch without being too busy.
- STAMPS: Year of Psalms: February (available March 15th)
- INK: Ranger Archival black
- PAPER: Kraft, Polka Dot Vellum, watercolor card stock
- OTHER: Mix & Mat: Flourishes Dies, Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, water brush, black baker’s twine
I love how Dawn used the Mix & Mat die to emboss onto her card cover. Little details like that can bring a whole card together.
- STAMPS: Year of Psalms: March (available March 15th)
- INK: Olive Twist, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal
- PAPER: Aqua Mist, Stamper’s Select White
- OTHER: Mix & Mat: Flourishes Dies, vanilla/tan embossing mats, paper snips
Dawn did a wonderful job on this card as well. The two smallest Mix & Mat dies work beautifully together on just a plain rectangle. I love how easily they transform something and take a project to a whole new level.
- STAMPS Ways to Say: Thank You (available March 15th) Some Like It Hot
- INK: Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure, Olive Twist, Prairie Grass, Bright Buttercup, Scarlet Jewel
- PAPER: Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure, Prairie Grass, Stamper’s Select White
