Today we are diving into the year 2012!
The editors of the venerable Encyclopedia Britannica — the massive, leather-bound tomes seen in libraries and schools since 1768 — announced that they were discontinuing the printed edition. The blog post goes on to promise that "the encyclopedia would live on" in "bigger, more numerous, and more vibrant digital forms," but the end of the 244-year old institution was yet another harbinger of the death of print.
No song has defined 2012 more than Psy's inescapable "Gangnam Style," which set the records for the most watched YouTube video. "Gangnam Style" has become a worldwide phenomenon, earning more than 1 billion views (and counting), spawning thousands of tribute videos, and giving the South Korean singer the opportunity to do his crazy horse-riding dance with many different celebrities around the world.
The 2012 Summer Olympics, which took place from July 27 to Aug. 12, were a widely celebrated, headline-dominating affair. More than 10,000 athletes from 204 countries hopped a flight to London, England to participate in more than 300 events. In the end, the United States won more gold medals and more medals overall than any other nation, with China and Great Britain taking second and third.
Hello Sunshine - This set is so much more than meets the eye! The triangular elements were designed to work perfectly together to make a perfect "sunburst" background. There is a starburst circle that can be used as a guide for positioning, which makes this set so easy to use. With the coordinating dies, you can die-cut and layer the solid circular center portion of the sun, or not, depending on the look you are going for. The coordinating dies allow you to cut wedges from colored cardstocks or patterned papers which you can choose to stamp with one of these coordinating design elements. Perfectly phrased sentiments round out the set, allowing your projects to be cohesive with the sunshine theme.

Lizzie says, "One of my favorite things about Papertrey Ink stamps has always been how adaptable they are. For example, at first glance With All My Heart may seem like it's only suited to a specific holiday, but a few simple substitutions make it absolutely perfect for year-round creating. It's that versatility that makes me fall in love with these stamp sets over and over again."

Michelle says, "The Celebrations set has a wonderful blend of sentiments, both large and small, that can be combined in so many ways. And then there’s that fabulous frame to fancy things up a bit. I remember seeing this set in combination with Rosie Posie and the Mat Stack 5 Collection stamps and being completely smitten! Yup…. I had to have it all!"

Embroidered Blooms - Hundreds of tiny, intricate "stitches" make up each component of the embroidered flowers and leaves in this elegant set. There are even "French knots" for the flower centers. As you build blooms and leaves with the layers created for each image in a variety of colors, the images will literally come to life and jump from the page. And the best part is they coordinate with the previously released dies, Beautiful Blooms II Die Collections #2 and #3 as well as Turning a New Leaf.

Melissa says, "Embroidered Blooms takes me back to summer days with my Grandma, to dishtowels, clotheslines, gingham aprons, and freshly baked bread :). It's funny how certain sets can evoke such specific images. I find these sets so inspiring, and Embroidered Blooms is one of them. I love trying to recreate what I can see in my mind's eye and make it all play out on paper."
