This is my modern interpretation of the bohemian vibe that’s making a strong comeback in the fashion and decor world. The large half circle can be used as is, stamped along an edge, or stamped twice to form a whole circular image. So much fun will be had when coloring and painting these images by hand! Each month will include a different sentiment that is interchangeable between any of the “splits” frame images. The sentiments will be sized just right to snuggle into the space provided within each frame stamp. A coordinating die will also be available to make cutting, stamping, and mounting them a breeze. Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For this project I took Boho Rounds and stamped the medium sized medallion around the edge of the card front using Fresh Snow ink.
The previously released Thick & Thin dies were a great companion for this card. I die-cut the base of the phrase from Tropical Teal cardstock and the thin portion from Canyon Clay. Using a white gel pen, I added white dots as a border around the thin layering.
I added small pops of color to the medallions using Copic Markers.
The end result is a very festive card that can be changed up with just a few alternate colors!
My next project uses the large medallion from Boho Rounds. I stamped each half with VersaMark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I watercolored over the top of it using markers and a water pen.
The sentiment from Keep It Simple: Sending Hugs was added strip across the center. When a card front is this beautiful, I like the sentiment to be super simple so it doesn't take attention away from the focal point.
The card base is a deep dark Royal Velvet to help accent the colors found in the medallion.
Keeping with the Royal Velvet theme, I thought these medallions would look gorgeous with Perfect Pearls.
I stamped the medallions in VersaMark and brushed them with Perfect Pearls. So easy to do, but such stunning results.
The sentiment is from the previously released Swan'sational set, the script seems like a perfect fit for the card.
Next I moved onto the Splits: Hello There set. I've loved all the Splits sets, but this one in particular is pretty awesome and has so many options!
I stamped the frame in a long centered border, rotating the frame 90-degrees each time.
One of the top frames was used to run a strip of white cardstock through, showcasing the sentiment from Fresh Bouquet.
The rainbow of colors just makes me happy!
There is a little lined border included in the Splits set and I used it to stamp this candy-colored accent.
The sentiment is added on top using Smokey Shadow ink.
I stamped the double lined border three times in each color to build the accent, and followed up with a little individual open circle.
You could have a lot of fun experimenting with different color schemes for this one!
How about another rainbow card? My girlfriends and I have a running joke between us, frequently using the phrase "Can't Even!". This card will be going in the mail to one of them and I know it will make them smile! One of the huge advantages of alphabet sets like this one, Antique Alphabet!
I stamped the Splits frame and added color with Copic markers. I then covered the stamped dots with small adhesive jewels.
I formed the sentiment on a single block using Antique Alphabet and stamped it in Smokey Shadow, then reined with Soft Stone and stamped again to create a slight shadow.
The detail and beauty of the new What the Doodle: Paisley is truly unsurpassed. I decided to keep things simple and build a background on a Smokey Shadow card base.
I used the sentiment from the set to accent the Bright Buttercup accent strip. This is tied with a bit of baker's twine.
The detail and crispness of these decorative images are so pretty, I know you will love using them!
