Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first project, I couldn't wait to play with the adorable elf ensembles that Betsy has designed for the Dress Up Dolls. They are so festive and can be used in so many ways. I opted to make a little card that can be delivered with our "elf" when he comes back on December 1st.
This striped frame from Elf Sentiments was stamped in Pure Poppy and then I added the sentiment from the same set just to the left. I love this phrase and know the kids will love it too!
I stamped the doll and elf outfit in Noir Palette ink and colored the image with Copic markers. Betsy thinks of every detail when designing her images, right down to the stitching detail on the trim of the elf outfit and the pointed shoes.
A few clear rhinestones were scattered around the elf, while everything was adhered to a Green Parakeet card base.
For a completely different look, I discovered that the elves look adorable when used with polyshrink!
Here is the comparison of a full size elf next to the polyshrink version. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities when you have two sizes to play around with like this.
I kept this card super simple so the elf would be center stage. The sentiment was stamped on a white card base, then I adhered the shrunk elf just above that.
I loved Maile's original Swoosh set, but this holiday version is pretty darn amazing too. I love how it instantly provides balance and a "grounding" element for your images.
On this project I added one of the dogs from Come All Ye Faithful and added the light string from the coordinating companion set. I love how the Swoosh sentiments kind of echo the look of the Christmas light cording.
For my last project, I created something quick and simple that can be easily mass produced for your friends! Using only two colors, Vintage Jadeite and Hawaiian Shores, I was able to create this beautiful stack of presents. Many of the bows are accented with a clear sequin for added texture.
I love this sentiment that is included in Lizzie's new Gifts of the Season set. It was the perfect addition to the card to add balance.
