Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
There's something nostalgic about cards featuring snowy village scenes. Perhaps it's because we imagine ourselves inside one of the little cottages, or maybe it reminds us of how things used to be. Here I have used some classic vintage colors to bring back that feeling of days gone by.
The house were stamped in Mint Julep, Vintage Jadeite and Hawaiian Shores, the trees added in New Leaf. I masked the bottom portion of the card and sponged it with Aqua Mist ink to help ground all of the images.
Betsy cleverly designed small dies that perfectly cut "snow" for the top of each buildings roof. I cut them out of Rustic White cardstock and layered them with glitter. I love, love, LOVE the detail this adds to the houses!
The font selections Betsy made for this set are spot on, adding the "Season's Greetings" version along the top of the ground for balance was the perfect finishing touch.
The church in Betsy's set was just begging to be featured on its very own card.
I started by stamping a sentiment along with its coordinating frame from Fancy Pants: Holiday Sentiments.
The church was added in Sweet Blush, Melon Berry and Soft Stone. Using Copic markers I added a bit of a glow to the windows, just to make it look warm and inviting.
A few touches of sparkly glitter, a trim with pinking shears and the card front got attached to the Sweet Blush card base.
These sweet little mice are sure to warm your heart while you are creating them, and bring a smile to the face of any recipient!
The mice are stamped in Fine Linen and Pale Peony. I love the way I can layer the color on the ears and even add that sweet little noose in an alternate color. I accented around the mice with holly, complete with Glossy Accents for the holly berries for extra texture.
The mouse accessories were added in Aqua Mist, the little details and patterns really pop.
Finally, a sentiment from the coordinating mini set not only grounds the mice, but provides a nod to an old Christmas favorite.
I have one more project for you today, this one for winter birthdays. These mice don't need to be reserved just for Christmas creations!
I stamped the background circle in Fresh Snow, then added the details of the mouse on top. Always let the Fresh Snow ink dry just a bit before layering color on like this.
I was able to add snowflakes on top of the background circle, the subtly white on white doesn't overpower the mouse image but provides nice contrast.
Now that you have seen a few of my creations, here are some of the amazing things that the team has created!

The new Winter Village and Christmas Critters stamp sets are so different from one another, but both so incredibly inspiring once the stamping begins.
