Alphabet Soup is single A to Z stamp, with an assortment of fonts puzzle pieced together for a background that’s as easy as ABC. But it doesn’t end there! Punch pieces out, highlight specific letters, or stamp selectively for fun ransom style sentiments. One stamp, twenty-six letters, so many possibilities!

- Alphabet Soup is a single stamp. The overall size of the image is 5" x 3". For reference on specific letter size, the biggest letter, R, is approximately 1" square and the smallest letter, C, is a little less than 1/2" x 1/4".
Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
I thought Halloween would be the perfect time to create a sweet little doll with a bit of a Harry Potter look for my daughter since she is such a huge fan of the series. I can't get over all the little details that Betsy incorporates into these Dress Up Dolls sets. They really are amazing.
I cut and stamped the appropriate pieces for the doll and colored them in with Copic markers.
The background was stamped with stars from Script Swirls: Birthday, using Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise and Canyon Clay to create a bit of an ombré effect.
>>>TIP: When you have a busy background like this and you don't want your sentiment to get lost in the shuffle, punch or die-cut a shape from he background and then stamp the sentiment through the opening onto your actual card base. It's super easy to do and adds a bit of extra interest to your card.
Even though this card is created completely from white cardstock, it really has a lot of depth and color to it! You could recreate a similar project for a boy or a girl since the costumes in this new set coordinate with both dolls.
I am just so excited for Kay and her new adventures as a product designer! Spooky Smiles really embodies her style and I was happy to have the opportunity to stamp with it. My first project is a little Halloween party invite using the adorable little cat, complete with a witch hat.
I colored the cat in using Copic markers, using the Colorless Blender to add a slight plaid pattern to the hat. I also added a few dot details to the cat using the same marker. The grass was created with trimmed strips of the Leafy Vine Border die, cut from Green Parakeet cardstock.
The banner was added to the top, stamped with the "invited" phrase. The sweet little bat from Spooky Smiles is also included to help balance the design.
I cut three layers of the Phrase Play #12 die and layered just the frame portion for depth. The background part at the bottom is added in a single layer. The Soft Stone card base helps to make the white elements pop.
>>>TIP: If you have several sequins you want to adhere at once, make small dots with pencil first to get your placement the way you want it. Then add drops of Gloss Accents to each pencil mark, followed by the sequins. You're guaranteed great results every time and the Glossy Accents provides a strong hold.
One last thing to note, if you take a look at the project there is the green grass, green band on the cat's hat and green sentiment banner creating a visual triangle. Being wary of repetition like this can make your projects more appealing to the eye.
This card is sweet and simple, just because I wanted the pumpkin to take center stage. For some reason he just makes me smile.
I colored the pumpkin with Copic Markers, using the Colorless Blender to add polka dots after I was done. I added Glossy Accents to the eyes to add a little texture and shine.
>>>TIP: If you want to add details to a Copic colored image or just feel like it needs a little something extra, use a Colorless Blender to take color away. The finished effect is subtle and cohesive, whereas when you use a darker color it can look a bit separated and harsh.
The sentiment underneath is framed with the previously released Outlined set. I made sure to allow the pumpkin to overlap the top of the frame ever so slightly to help the pumpkin not look too detached from the sentiment.
I chose a rustic looking Classic Kraft card base to coordinate with the rich oranges used in the pumpkin.
Last but not least is Lexi's new Alphabet Soup background stamp. The overall image is a bit smaller than an A2 card front and gives you so many options. Here I was careful to leave the bottom third of the card unstamped to allow room for the sentiment.
>>>TIP: This is something I do a lot for quick and easy cards. You can use any repetitive image or background to only stamp the top two-thirds of your card so it is easy to add a sentiment. I usually mask the bottom with post-it notes to make sure I don't cross into the area I want to remain blank.
after I stamped the background in VersaMerk I went back over it with Turquoise Perfect Pearls. I wish you could see the shimmer and shine in person! This particular Perfect Pearls on top of Tropical Teal is one of my favorite combinations.
