We're excited to share a new stamp theme with you today, that we've been having so much fun creating with! Inspired by gorgeous Indian textiles created with wood block "stamps", you'll love these fabulous new designs and all the color play options they bring!
This stamp set was inspired by vintage carved woodblocks that are used for traditional Indian fabric printing. Use these motifs alone as a focal point or repeat them to create borders and backgrounds. The possibilities are truly endless!

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first project I could hardly wait to use the two-step stencils includes in the Woodblock Prints Stencil Collection. I started with step one, which is the large open shapes that create a background for each flourish. I sponged this with Hawaiian Shores, making it a bit darker up at the top of the card.
Then I used step two, which adds the actual flourishes. These were done with Tropical Teal ink. The results are just gorgeous with these two stencils together and I can hardly wait or you to try them!
I kept the sentiment simple and heat embossed it on Tropical Teal cardstock using White Filigree Embossing Powder.
The entire card was created on an Aqua Mist card base.
The large medallion stencil is one of my favorites from the collection and I decided to turn my experimentation into a small set of cards.
This first one is a result of using multiple ink colors with it.
I love how the medallion transitions from light to dark. I can imagine doing thins in lots of different color schemes! And it's so easy to do too!
For this one I experimented with Fresh Snow ink on a darker cardstock.
I really love this, it almost has a batik kind of look to it.
Last but not least is a single ink color on a solid colored card base.
I had a softer hand with the sponging at the top of the card and then repeated a few layers of color towards the outer edges. This is a great stencil and I can hardly wait to create more with it!
The images includes in the coordinating stamp set are just so fun to mix and match. They all have a fresh artsy vibe because I took time to make everything look hand painted and inconsistent.
I used post-it notes to mask the top and bottom of the card, then stamped these floral images to fill the center. To make them a little more hand-printed looking, I inked them in Hawaiian Shores and then inked a portion of the top in Tropical Teal before stamping. I then sponged a bit of Hawaiian Shores at the top and bottom to help give more definition to the masked area. The borders were stamped after the masking was removed. I just LOVE this dotted borders! They add such a great touch!
I stamped this sentiment in True Black and Tropical Teal. To help add a bit of definition to the letters in "birthday", I went over them with Glossy Accents.
Such an easy card the could be completed in many different color schemes! I almost feel like I am able to paper to fabric with the look of these stamps!
For my last card I had to dig out some of the Woodblock Prints papers. The unique bold colors just immediately catch your attention.
The background paper was adhered right to the card front, and a strip of a second simpler pattern was adhered as a border.
The sentiment was adhered on top of the border to help give it definition.
