Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first card I wanted all of the detail of the Petite Places: Nativity and Scene It: Bethlehem to really pop, so I opted to keep them simple, clean and white, but place them on a vibrant background.
I started with a block of Tropical Teal cardstock and sponged the top with Enchanted Evening ink, letting it fade out towards the center. Then I Stamped along the faded edge with the star cluster from Christmas Cheer. The beautiful sentiment from O Holy Night is heat embossed in white towards the top of the card.
I layered the City of David die-cut and the palm tree layer from the Scene It: Bethlehem collection. Then on top of that I added a few of the key pieces from Petite Places: Nativity. To add emphasis to the baby Jesus, I stamped that image on it's coordinating cut using Enchanted Evening ink.
It's a simple card to put together, but I think it has a lot of impact.
I was on a Tropical Teal kick so decided to create a little tree ornament using the new Petite Ornament: Hexagon dies. It was super easy to assemble and all of the detail just makes it a special keepsake.
I die-cut the entire Petite Places: Nativity in white, pieced it together and adhered it inside the ornament.
The interior bottom is coated with faux snow for a bit of sparkle and texture. It also covers up the tabs that hold all the little nativity pieces in place.
The top filigree cut-outs and the ornamental trim you can add are so beautiful. It's dies like this that make me a happy paper crafter because I can make as many of these as I want, in whatever color I want, forever and ever! No hoarding allowed! :)
I wanted to pull out my Perfect Pearls one more time this month and pair it with the color of the day, Tropical Teal. I stamped all of the elements from Petite Places: Nativity and O Holy Night in VersaMark and brushed over them with Perfect Copper and Sunflower Perfect Pearls.
I stamped all of the elements from Petite Places: Nativity and O Holy Night in VersaMark and brushed over them with Perfect Copper and Sunflower Perfect Pearls.
I love fading one Perfect Pearls color into another like I did on the sentiment here.
I used a gold paint pen to add a fine border around the exterior as a finishing touch.
