Nothing says “party” like crepe streamers! This set embraces celebrations of all kinds and allows you to create colorful scenes and backgrounds with ease. Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
Hannah will be turning the big 13 in August, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to make her a special party day hat and card.
I challenged myself to use the dies from the Party Hat & Party Hat Trims die collections to make the card.
I cut a piece of Orange Zest Polka Dot paper with this Party Hat Trims die, then inlaid a piece of Raspberry Fizz cardstock cut with the same die in place.
The sentiment was die-cut with the words found in the Party Hat die collection, "Birthday" having two layers for more dimension. I did some partial inking with one of the "praying for you" stamps from the Keep It Simple collection, using True Black ink.
The party hat came together really quickly and I just know that Hannah is going to love wearing it on her birthday. I made the base of the hat from Orange Zest polka dot paper. I highly recommend using patterned paper for the hat rather than cardstock, it bends a lot easier so the hat is easier to assemble.
I added the medallion to the front of the hat by die-cutting two layers of Summer Sunrise cardstock using the medallion die from the Party Hat die collection. The Limitless Layers 1-3/4" circle die fits nicely in the center. The new Sew Stylish Number dies were the perfect thing to add to the center of the medallion and make it more personalized for Hannah.
I added this die-cut Party Trim to the bottom, using Raspberry Fizz cardstock. I recommend adhering the two party hat bases together flat and then adhering the trims while everything is still flat. It's way easier this way!
I added a white pompom to the top of the hat. I found the easiest thing to do was to use a needle to thread a piece of crochet thread through the pompom and adhere the tails of thread inside the hat. It took just a few seconds and made the pompom nice and sturdy.
I just love the new paper pad that Lizzie designed to coordinate with her Hooray stamp set! These streamers are just so fun and festive! I went for a quick and easy card that could be customized for any age! You could even swap out the paper for one of the designs that has more masculine colors if you wanted to make it for a guy!
I die-cut the age from the side of the paper using the Sew Stylish Numbers dies. I then heat embossed the sentiment from Hooray onto Raspberry Fizz cardstock and trimmed it into strips. These were adhered above the die-cut numbers.
To add a little more interest, I added some shimmer to all of the streamers using a Gelly Roll pen.
I adhered the paper to a white card base so the contrasting color showed through the holes that make up the numbers.
The new Enclosed: Cupcake and Favor It: Cupcake Box dies are a match that is just made to be fabulous!
I started by stamping some flowers from Mini Blooms in two of the corners of the card front.
I then added the Enclosed: Cupcake details. The main cupcake was cut from Sheer Basics bitty dot vellum, then layered with the cupcake celebrate frame cut from white cardstock. The cupcake liner, complete with the score lines detail Dawn incorporated into the die, is the last layer.
I die-cut and stamped a birthday candle to add to the top of the cupcake. Sprinkles of Faux Snow provide a nice sparkly finish.
I cut the cupcake box from white cardstock and stamped some of the top tabs with the same flowers as the card. I cut extras of the box from Aqua Mist and trimmed the bottom off with scalloped scissors to create a cupcake liner. I used the tag from Ahoy (cut from Hibiscus Burst) to stamp the "Enjoy" sentiment from the Enclosed: Cupcake set in Pure Poppy. This was attached with a Pure Poppy button and Baker's Twine.
A sweet little ensemble to celebrate a sweet birthday!
For my last projects today I have a quick little trio that take no time at all. You could easily mass produce these in a variety of colors to keep on hand for those last minute birthdays!
The gorgeous full length confetti stamp allows you to get this popular look with just ONE impression! I thought it would be fun to ink the stamp in an ombre fashion using four ink colors. Here I have used Scarlet Jewel, Autumn Rose, Canyon Clay and Summer Sunrise. I made a second impression, slightly off drom the original impression, without re-inking to give it a more artistic look.
The word "celebrate" was die-cut twice, once from white cardstock and once from Luxe Gold Adhesive Sheets. The white version was sponged with the same ink colors used on the card. I adhered the gold version to the card first, then added the ombre version on top of that, creating a slight "gold" shadow. The companion sentiment was added underneath in True Black ink.
This version uses Raspberry Fizz, Berry Sorbet, Melon Berry and Summer Sunrise.
And this uses Tropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores, Ripe Avocado and Limeade Ice.
