Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
My first card is a little something bright and cheery for the workplace.
I used the beautiful new Center Style: Feminine to begin. I trimmed the top and bottom off and stamped the sentiment (from Watercooler Talk) on the center portion. The top and bottom were accented with a strip of Summer Sunrise cardstock. The top portion also has the addition of a paper bow.
I stamped the background myself using the new Plaid Builders set. Because of the clever way that Betsy designed this set, it came out perfectly and I was done with it in no time at all. We'll be sharing more details about this set later in the week!
Everything was adhered to a Raspberry Fizz card base.
This is another simple card for the workplace. You could do this with any monochromatic color scheme and swap out the sentiment for anything appropriate from Watercooler Talk.
I used the Center Style: Feminine die again, this time with Hawaiian Shores cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in Tropical Teal, along with the frame accents at the top and bottom.
I stamped the pre-assembled floral cluster from Mini Blooms onto the corner of the card and the center frame. The flowers were accented with a white gel pen.
I like that this card could really be used for just about any type of occasion, which is perfect to be filed away for reference when you need something quick and easy!
Now for something a bit more masculine. I kept this design really simple since it is another workplace design. Many times in the workplace you don't know a lot about someone's personal life, so it is best to keep card designs clean and simple and focus on just conveying the message. One of my favorite color schemes for masculine cards is Canyon Clay and Ocean Tides. Here I created the base layer With Ocean Tides Polka Dot paper and cut the Center Style: Masculine frame from Canyon Clay.
I added the Watercooler Talk sentiment to the middle on a second layer of cardstock with Vintage Cream ink.
The new Southwestern Style set is fun and easy to use with all of the mixing and matching options that Maile built in!
Here I played with several of the border strips to create this trendy stack of tribal accents. The colors are soft and feminine, even though many of the shapes are geometric. I used Melon Berry, Classic Kraft, Enchanted Evening and Aqua Mist.
Everything was simply attached to a Classic Kraft card base. Nice and flat and super easy to mail! You could really swap out the sentiment for any occasion on this design as well!
My dad is an avid outdoorsman and sometimes it can be a bit difficult to come up with the design for his Father's Day card each year. The Southwestern Style set is the perfect answer to that! I used masculine colors here, Terracotta Tile and Summer Sunrise, stamped directly onto Kraft cardstock.
The sentiment was added in True Black from Keep It Simple: Father. I accented above and below it with a line of stitching created with my white gel pen. I also used the pen to accent the southwestern designs.
