This fun set was inspired by vintage 1950's spy themed graphics, which makes it great for both kids and adults! First, there is the cute little secret agent himself, in all his 1950s glory! The oversized magnifying glass handle can be added at the end of his sleeve to make it look like he is holding it. Then the magic begins! You can add a message to the inside of the magnifying the glass in one color, then add the "scrambler" pattern over the top in a different color that matches the color of the transparency film that you will use for your decoder. (Colored transparency film in Pure Poppy, New Leaf and Orange Zest sold separately). The coordinating dies as well as the Secret Agent Glasses dies make it easy to create professional looking decoders! Of course there are all kinds of companion sentiments and accents that you can add to your project as well!

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
My first card was SO quick and easy, thanks to the new Comic Strip paper and the Cover Plate: Comic Strip die! I used the paper that is specifically already printed with several different patterns in a Comic Strip formation so it was all laid out for me. To help add texture, I added a die-cut Cover Plate: Comic Strip frame done in white.
In the top two blocks I was able to add the long word bubble and a stamed sentiment. The font that Lexi selected for this stamp set is so authentic looking! I also added a die-cut "9" in True Black since Ethan will be celebrating his 9th birthday. This was cut using the By the Numbers Border die.
Underneath that, this die-cut city scene tucks in perfectly. The word accent was cut and then stamped with Pure Poppy and True Black to create a comic-like backdrop for the words "Zappy Birthday".
I added a picture of Ethan making his "Home Alone" face to the bottom block of the Cover Plate: Comic Strip frame. I just know he is going to get a kick out of this card and I can hardly wait to give it to him! Do you have any little super heros that would love to be "featured" in a comic strip like this?!?!
My next project uses the Card Base-ics 2 notecard die as a great secret agent glasses holder! The tabs that hold the note in place actually work perfectly for presenting a pair of the glasses as well!
I cut the main Card Base-ics 2 notecard from Soft Stone cardstock and then added the block of white in place under the tabs. The top tab was accented with a stamped arrow from the Secret Agent set. The white was stamped with a secret message in Aqua Mist and then the scrambler pattern on top of that in Pure Poppy.
The bottom is accented with additional bits and pieces from the stamp set. As you can see here as you get a peek through the glasses, they really do reveal the secret message!
For the glasses I die-cut all of the cardstock in two-layers to help give them more stability and longevity. They are constructed from True Black cardstock, True Black Striped paper and the new Pure Poppy Colored Transparency sheet. I also added little diamond shaped brads to help hold it together and to accent the front portion.
This project is so fun, it is sure to make the recipient smile! The secret agent is stamped in Soft Stone and the accented with a Simply Chartreuse overcoat that is stamped in Ripe Avocado. I used a white gel pen to add a few white accents to his buttons. The magnifying glass is cut from Hawaiian Shores and stamped with Tropical Teal. I was then able to line the opening with New Leaf transparency. This is "hinged" at the end with a punched 1/8" hole and a large brad so the recipienet can move it back and forth over the message!
The message is stamped on a die-cut Spiral Notebook Page in Summer Sunrise and then scrambled with Hawaiian Shores ink.
As you can see here, when the magnifying glass is moved over the words, the message is revealed!
The top corner of the card is accented with the embossed medallion die from the Secret Agent collection, as well as the top secret label.
