Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
One of the great things about all of these "party" words and phrases is that they serve as a great way to embellish birthday cards, while also working for invitations and favors! Super versatile! Here I have created a quick and easy party invite along with a coordinating favor tag that uses up the scraps!
I started by stamping some stripes onto a block of white cardstock using the road image from City Scene. I thought a rainbow theme was appropriate here!
I then used the Hey Cupcake die to cut an opening in the block, being sure to reserve the cupcake shape for the tag!
"Party" was die-cut and added underneath the block.
"Time!", from Phrase Play #12, was added underneath in Soft Stone ink. The invitation details can be added inside the folded card.
Since you're already going to all that trouble stamping stripes, you might as well use that die-cut cupcake on your coordinating favor tags! I die-cut the Phrase Play #12 frame from white and adhered it in place along with the small stars and confetti.
I adhered the cupcake in place with a bit of foam tape.
"Thanks for coming to my", also from Phrase Play #12, was added above the frame in Soft Stone ink. I used a mini clothespin to add some crochet thread to the top of the tag as an accent. This could easily be clipped on to a little favor or treat that you send home with your guests!
If you have ever had one of those moments when you realized you missed an important birthday and need to get something in the mail in a hurry, this card is for you! It literally takes 10 minutes to put together! Grab a 1-3/8" square punch, eight colors of cardstock and start punching! All of the squares will fit perfectly on an A2 card cover with no trimming required!
Add your sentiment right across the center with black ink. I used this one from the new Keep It Simple: Belated Birthday.
The best thing about this design is that it would really work with any of the Keep It Simple sentiments since they are all about the same width!
Here's a card made with the stamps from Hey, Cupcake. I always love basic sets like this because they can be customized in so many ways!
I started by scoring a 4-1/2" block into thirds to create a grid. I was then able to add a cupcake to each block using a rainbow of ink colors. I actually think this might be my personal record for number of inks on a card!
I added a few dots to the top of each cupcake using a white gel pen as a finishing touch. For the center sentiment, I actually partially inked another belated birthday sentiment so that I could stack the words on top of one another instead of using them in a single line. Everything is mounted onto a Smokey Shadow card base.
The new birthday tags that Dawn designed are just beautiful and you are in for a real treat with this set!
I started by stamping this pretty one in Spring Rain onto white cardstock. I then added some elements from Mini Blooms around the tag. They were also outlined with a T1 marker to help add emphasis.
This was mounted onto a Spring Rain card base.
Here's another one of my favorite tags from the set, heat embossed in white onto white cardstock.
I then used ink to watercolor over the embossing, creating a bit of an ombre effect.
After the block dried, I adhered it to a Soft Stone card base.
My last project today uses the gorgeous new Text Block die from Lizzie Jones. I used a fun little technique that really complements this theme. I impresed the die into the front of my white card base (using the same sandwich as I would with an embossing plate). Then using a cluster of stars image from Star Gazer, I stamped repeatedly within each of the balloons, using a few different colors.
I then die-cut the frame from white and adhered it in place over the stamped areas. I die-cut the frame a second time, only with Aqua Mist, placing the background bits and pieces into place on the card front.
I hope you have enjoyed all the creations that I have shared with you today! We've certainly got a little something for everyone! Which new item are you most excited about?
