Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
I thought I would kick things off with the Phrase Play #11 collection. I die-cut the frame from white cardstock.
Then colored it with Copic Markers, blending the two colors for a bit of an ombre look. The companion sentiment was added in the appropriate opening with black ink.
I love the little "Hip Hip" banner detail that is already attached to the frame. You can easily trim it off for even more looks!
I added a few die-cut white Small Sketched Stars around the frame in a visual triangle to help lead the eye around the project.
Next up is a little something made with Block Party!
I selected my color scheme of Summer Sunrise, Hawaiian Shores and Limeade Ice and then started playing around with stamping the blocks in a variety of patterns. After I had everything the way I wanted, I trimmed along the top edge of the block stack.
The "3" was die-cut from the opening in the blocks and then one of the sentiments from the set was added to the right of that.
It's a very simple design that could be done in a variety of colors depending on the recipient!
Block Party is also a great set to mix and match with other sets to create teacher cards!
The blocks were stamped in Simply Chartreuse, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise and Pure Poppy in a random arrangement.
This small apple from Back to School was added on top of one of the blocks that now feature one of the clever sentiments from Block Party.
I used a strip of Smokey Shadow cardstock at the bottom of the card to display the teacher's name, which kind of resembles a chalkboard. The name was heat embossed using White Filigree Embossing Powder.
A bit of baker's twine tied just above the name strip helps to connect the name strip and block focal point.
One of the things I love about Give Me a Hand is the ease with which I can now make cards for my two boys. While it can definitely be used for girls too, it is always nice to have an option on hand for boy projects becuase they can be a bit hard to create sometimes.
I stamped these arms and sleeves onto the bottom of a piece of white cardstock that had been cut with Tipped Tops. I then impressed it with the canvas side of the Linen & Canvas impression plate for a bit of texture.
The side of the focal point layer was die cut with the speech bubble die from Give Me a Hand. I was then able to add the speech bubble outline stamp and sentiment to the Soft Stone layer underneath, using White Filigree Embossing Powder.
The Soft Stone cardstock is adhered to a white card base, which finishes this project off.
Here's another project using Give Me a Hand. Great for encouragement after a job well done! I kept this card fairly simple so it's something I can make up in a hurry as needed.
I used the Monthly Moments: Spiral Notebook Page die to create my focal point. I stamped the various hands in a rainbow of colors at the bottom. Journal lines were added over that in Soft Stone.
The speech buble and sentiment were added at the top in True Black. Simply matted onto a Classic Kraft card base to allow the focal point to shine.
For my last project I pulled out the adorable Little Human stamp set!
I love that the separate body parts allow me to use a variety of colors and position him in any way I want like here, where he is holding balloons.
Balloon Bash was the perfect way to add a birthday feel to the card. I used Summer Sunrise, Spring Rain amd Limeade Ice to stamp them on their respective die-cuts.
I tied white crochet thread to each balloon and gathered them into the robot's hand with a bit more of thread. The sentiment was then added in True Black.
