Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
I decided to kick off today's post with a Christmas card created with the Songbirds set! The style of the new Holiday Double Cuts dies complement the folk-style pattern on the birds perfectly!
I die-cut the two layers of the words in Aqua Mist and Tropical Teal. New Leaf cardstock was used to cut out the big branch that is included in the Songbirds die set, which I snipped apart into little pieces to arrange around the words.
This sweet little songbird was stamped in Raspberry Fizz ink onto Hibiscus Burst cardstock, then die-cut with the coordinating die. The pattenr and detail on the birds is just so pretty! Small clusters of pearls accent here and there.
The song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" is used on this line of sheet music, which is heat embossed onto the Soft Stone card front.
One of the GREAT things about this set is that you can use it for so many occasions all year long! My next card is a window "spinner" card, a little interactive technique that has been around for years and years! I adapted it to this project with a bit of a modern twist. This is such a unique birthday card that any recipient would be thrilled to receive!
The bird was stamped in Enchanted Evening and then accents were added in Berry Sorbet, Terracotta Tile and Simply Chartreuse. Die-cutting the bird was the last step. I used the mirror image plain bird die to cut Enchanted Evening Stripes paper for the back, sandwiching crochet thread between the layers.
A window was added in the card front using a Limitless Layers: 2-1/2" Circle die. I added white eyelets at the top and bottom of the circle to wrap the thread around, knotting it in the back.
The sheet music banner was die-cut and stamped with a happy birthday tune. I love how this eliminates the need for an ordinary sentiment.
The corners of the card front are stamped with leaves and flowers, also included in the Songbirds set.
This bold black card really allows the bright colors to pop!
A line from the old hymn "Count Your Blessings" is heat embossed onto Classic Kraft cardstock that was cut with the coordinating banner die.
The banch was die-cut from Simply Chartreuse and the tips were sponged with Ripe Avocado ink. The bird was cut from Summer Sunrise cardstock and sponged with Canyon Clay ink. This was then adhered onto a solid bird cut from white. I cut the bird from Pure Poppy and Simply Chartreuse as well, so I could add the details back in contrasting colors.
I die-cut a few additional flowers from Pure Poppy cardstock and arranged them around the branch. The "thank you" sentiment was heat embossed in white in the upper left corner.
Of course, you don't always have to add the music banners to your projects! You can do quick and easy projects like this too!
I stacked the birds on top of each other in lots of fun bright colors! The largest birds having multi-step options really heps to carry through the color scheme!
I added the sentiment from Festival of Lights in True Black at the bottom of the bird stack. I totally think this sentiment works for things other than Hanukkah cards!
The white card base was stamped with Background Basics: Super Stripes in Soft Stone on the diagonal. Such a bright and cheerful card to send along to someone that needs encouragement! Now that you have seen a few of my creations, here are some of the amazing things that the team has created!
