Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
I could hardly wait to try out Erin's new Along Came a Spider stitiching dies and coordinating stamp set!
I started by die-cutting the circle for the moon from the top layer of cardstock. It was cut using the plain circle from the Limitless Layers: 2-1/2" Circle die collection. I stamped the two layer moon (from the new Full Moon set, more about this later in the week!) using Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest ink. The sentiment strip was created by stamping one of the Keep Simple: Halloween sentiments onto black cardstock and heat embossing it with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
I die-cut the the sitching holes only version of the spider and then stamped over it with the coordinating stamp, giving the look of stitching with hardly any effort!
I used a piece of black floss to run from the spider and in & around the moon window.
My next card showcases the way to cute ghost from Happy Spooky Halloween.
I stamped him onto my Smokey Shadow card front with Fresh Snow ink and then added stars around him with True Black. The speech bubble was die cut with one of the Bubble Talk diesm stamped with a sentiment from Happy Spooky Halloween.
I just love these new caution tape borders for Lexi's Haunted Borders set. They are the cutest things ever! I die-cut these from three colors and then stamped them a shade darker, layering them on my card front with foam tape.
Everything was adhered to a clean, crisp white card base.
I'm head over heels for this Candy Corn Collage die (and I *think* there is a lovely stamper named Pat that will be pretty excited about it too!). It is so easy to use and gives you such great results every time!
I die-cut the collage die from white cardstock three times and layered them together for a thicker chipboard look. I also die-cut the shape from Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest cardstocks and inserted the pieces into the appropriate areas.
This sentiment from the previously released Trick or Treat set was the perfect thing to add to the upper portion of the die. I heat embossed it with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
The white embossing pops on the Soft Stone background.
Here's another project using the Candy Corn Collage die, this time mixing it with Happy Spooky Halloween.
And here's a little tip. If you want to add color to your cany corn the easy way, impress the Candy Corn Collage die onto white cardstock, running it through your machine just as you would an impression plate. Add color to the appropriate areas using Copics, colored pencils or even watercolors. Then die-cut a second frame and adhered it right over your impressed area, lining the two up. Quick, easy and flawless every time.
I added a die-cut and stamped cat from Happy Spooky Halloween to the corner of my card. The little guy is stamped in True Black.
On the other end of the frame I added one of the sentiments from the same set, plus a small cluster of black rhinestones.
I used Polka Dot Basics III to add Simply Chartreuse polka dots around the frame. I love how this Candy Corn Collage die looks great horizontal and vertical!
The new Dangled Stars die is another one of my favorites from this release. I die-cut it from the white card front and adhered it to a Soft Stone card base.
There is a seperate die to cut out stars that coordinate with the main die. I cut them from Limeade Ice, Aqua Mist and Harvest Gold cardstock and nested them into their openings.
This sentiment from the previously released Super Stars set was the perfect thing to use with this border. It is stamped in Palette Charcoal ink.
I also used a 2-way glue pen to add a few dots of adhesive and sprinkled them with Prisma glitter.
For my last card I got to play around with the new Text Block: Halloween card. I love, love, LOVE how Lizzie incorporated a spider web into the words "trick or treat". Such a great design!
The Text Block was die-cut three times from Smokey Shadow and layered on top of each other to form a thicker look. I adhered it at a bit of angle onto an Ocean Tides card front.
This Keep It Simple: Halloween sentiment was stamped onto a strip of white cardstock in True Black ink and adhered it at the same angle as the Text Block die-cuts. I used some silver sparkle fun foam with the stars only die portion of Dangled Stars and adhered them here and there across the card. You could change things up and do this in traditional black and orange if you prefered!
