Birthday Classics: September is the eighth set in a monthly series that features a gorgeously unique birthday sentiment as well as birthday sentiment building options, with each set focusing on a specific month! Finally, you can create birthday sentiments specific to each recipient’s birth month! Custom birthday cards just got more fun than ever! You’ll want to be sure to collect them all to create cards for anyone on your birthday calendar!

Keep It Simple: Thanksgiving is the eighth in a series of stamp sets allowing you to build a collection of basic, medium-sized sentiments, in a nice variety of fonts, that you can turn to again and again. With this edition we are focusing on "Thanksgiving". The font choices will cover everything from modern to elegant.

These new button dies have a very "fall" feel to them, making you think of cozy woolens and warm sweaters! Try cutting these buttons out from different materials, such as coaster board, cork or even then wood veneer. You can even sandwich few pieces of felt together and pull the blanket stitches a bit tight to create some *puffiness*.

These adorable dies let you cut out the pieces needed to transform a 1-1/2" pompom or small pinecone into an owl. And who knows? You may even come up with other things to transform! You can die-cut the owl pieces from felt or paper and just think about ALL the color combinations! Once completed it could be used to tie onto a small gift, incorporated into a place card or a whole family could be made as a fun little playtime treat!

Lizzie Jones is bringing you this mini gable box that is quick and easy to assemble with only two pieces required! Perfect for Halloween treats, a little something special for a teacher celebrating back to school or a few sweets to bring home after a Thanksgiving dinner! Coordinates well with several of the other products being released this month.

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
One of the fun things about the new Phrase Play #7 die is that you can use the leaf as a stand alone die-cut separate from the phrase frame. I did just that for this card, pairing it up with the gorgeous main sentiment from Birthday Classics: September.
I stamped the sentiment three times, each time in a different color, using Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay and Terracotta Tile. I trimmed out the bottom block from the Terracotta Tile versiona and the top block from the Summer Sunrise version. After trimming the entire Canyon Clay piece down into a rectangle, I adhered the other blocks in place, creating a tri-color sentiment.
I die-cut several of these gorgeous leaves from the new Phrase Play #7 die using Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay and Terracotta Tile cardstocks and arranged them around the sentiment block. I created these warm & cozy stitched buttons using the new Blanket Stitched Button dies. The buttons were cut from Canyon Clay felt and did the blanket stitching around the outside edge using brown embroidery floss. (You can find a great tutorial on blanket stitching HERE.)
I stamped the background on the Classic Kraft card base using Vintage Cream ink and the Autumn Pattern Pieces stamp set.
Next up, a little gift perfect for showing appreciation for a special teacher! This cute little miniature gable box is just the thing for packaging up little trinkets. The best thing is that you can make the whole box with only one sheet of cardstock! I die-cut this box using Smokey Shadoew cardstock, which reminded me a bit of a chalkboard.
Before I assembled the box, I stamped the dotted school line border in Fresh Snow ink. I was able to create a simple label using Teach & Inspire. The banner was stamped separately with Simply Chartreuse ink onto Limeade Ice paper and cut out by hand.
The monogrammed "tag" detaches from the box to be used as a key chain.
I die-cut the bits and pieces using the new seasonal Stitching: Apple dies. Before assembling the layers, I die-cut the Polka Dot Parade Alphabet letters from the main apple to create the monogram.
A bit of black gingham ribbon was stitched between the layers of felt to act as a loop to hold the key ring in place.
The box will be filled with a special sweet treat for an extra special teacher! I hope with a gift like this she will know just how much we appreciate her!
I have something bright and colorful for you next, using the other die-cut pieces from the Phrase Play #7 die.
I created a rainbow stamped strip using the end of one of the Ombre Builders stamps.
I adhered the die-cut words above the rainbow strip and added the stamped companion sentiment in True Black.
The detail in the new Tick Tock set is just amazing! And as I have said before, the sentiments in this set make it applicable to so many great occasions.
I die-cut the clock from Aqua Mist cardstock and stamped it in Hawaiian Shores. I was able to heat emboss the clock face detail in White Filigree Embossing Powder. The die-cut integrates doors that fold open, so I was able to adhere shutters in an alternate color to them. The tiny bird was cut from Limeade Ice cardstock.
A strip of Haarvest Gold cardstock holds the sentiment. The top portion is heat embossed and the bottom portion is stamped in Summer Sunrise.
The background is created with the previously released Irresistibly Ikat using Limeade Ice, Aqua Mist and Harvest Gold.
I have been really inspired by a lot of the watercoloring techniques that the team has been demonstrating in the Make It Monday videos lately. I wanted to try them out with this card using Autumn Adornments.
I inked this beautiful leaf & berry border image with multiple colors, using the points of our ink pads. After stamping that, I added the acorns. A wet watercolor brush was all I needed to swipe over the images to get that watercolor look.
This elegant Thanksgiving sentiment, also included in the Autumn Adornments set, was stamped in the center using Dark Chocolate ink.
I used pinking shears to trim the bottom edge of the card front then adhered it to a Canyon Clay card base.
The new Autumn Adornments set doesn't need to be confined to autumn projects. Here I have used one of my favorite borders on a pretty thank you card.
I stamped the border in New Leaf and then added a few flowers in Enchanted Evening.
The thank you sentiment was added just above it in Enchanted Evening as well. Very simple card that would be easy to mass-produce.
I have another teacher gift to share with you.; This one uses several of the new Seasonal Stitching dies to create a name frame that can be displayed on a teacher's desk or classroom shelf. I got the frame for about $8, s it really comes together as an inexpensive gift.
I die-cut the bits and pieces for the pencil and stitched them together at the top of my felt background. The Seasonal Stitching: Notebook Paper was die-cut and stitched onto the bottom portion.
I used the Smooth Alphabet dies with Pure Poppy Bitty Dot paper to spell out the teacher's name. I ended up removing the glass from the frame and added just a bit of batting behind it to give it a bit of puffiness through the frame opening.
Next up is a Thanksgiving card that really captures the colors of the season with this die-cut and stitched leaf.
I used one of the previously released Leaf Prints dies to cut this leaf shape. I sponged a few different ink colors onto the leaf to give it a pretty variegated look. I then die-cut the stitching holes in the leaf with the coordinating die from the new collection. I stitched the leaf with embroidery floss in a slightly lighter color for contrast.
I stamped the Thanksgiving sentiment from the new Keep It Simple: Thanksgiving set in Dark Chocolate underneath.
I wrapped the card front with rustic jute button twine and finished it with a bow.
I have one last little goodie to share with you today. I am so excited about the new Critter Cuties die. This die allows you to transform a variety of things into adorable little critters using felt, paper or whatever other materials you dream up.
I decided to tranform a 2" brown pom-pom. I cut all of the pieces from a variety of felt colors and adhered them in place using a hot glue gun.
This little guy will be a new favorite for my daughter! He can be used for a variety of things, such as a gift topper and more!
