Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
(click this and any of the photos below for a larger view)
I just fell in love with all of the travel themed items included in the new Monthly Moments items and decided to make a mini album with pictures from a trip we took in March to Fort Pickens, Florida. When you have all the bits and pieces laying out at your disposal, a project like this comes together so quickly!
I created a little 3x4 album using the Monthly Moments: Journal Card 1 die to create my page bases. A hole is punched in the corner of each page and they are held together with a large binder ring. I used a photo of the beach for my front cover. This sketchy frame from Big Ticket Additions was heat embossed onto vellum cardstock with White Filigree Embossing Powder. I also embossed the "Our Trip" sentiment from Monthly Moments: July. underneath that I added the small car image and two companion words from Monthly Moments: Travel Plans. I created an "H" monogram using a Bookprint Upper die and Berry Sorbet Striped paper and a few layers of coaster board.
Since this was a trip to the beach, I thought it would be fun to attach some of our memorabilia to the binder ring. I drilled a small hole in this shell using a Dremel. I used a large fastener pin to tie it to the ring using a bit of Taffy variegated twine (from the new Beautiful Brushstrokes kit). I used Mod Podge to adhere this small circle stamped with the year of our trip.
I also tied on a test tube full of sand from the beach. White crochet thread and a little tag made from Aqua Mist cardstock and a stamp from Monthly Moments: July finish it off and help hold it in place on the binder ring.
The first page, inside my front cover uses a few of the United States dies, Tennessee and Florida specifically. I used the dotted arrow stamp from Destination with True Black ink to show the direction of our travel. I used silver star sequins to showcase approximately where our journey began and ended. The Aqua Mist strip uses a sentiment from Monthly Moments: Travel Plans. Underneath that I stamped a small ETA box from Get Lost using Berry Sorbet ink. I then filled int he time and miles using small number stamps also included in the set.
I created one of these pages for each section of the book to divide up the days. The background is Aqua Mist Polka Dot paper. The focal point is created with the Big Ticket Basics border die and white cardstock. I stamped it with this beautiful fill-in-the-blank design from Big Ticket Additions using Summer Sunrise ink. "Day:" from Monthly Moments: Travel Plans was added in black and the number was added with Wet Paint Alphabet in Berry Sorbet.
On the back of these pages I added a journaling card using sme of the amazing stamps from Monthly Moments: Travel Plans. This GORGEOUS striped postcard frame is perfect in so many ways and coordinates with 3x4 cards like these pages. I added the "date" and "travel plans" in Hawaiian Shores as well as the fun cancellation image in the corner done in Summer Sunrise.
Facing that page is a great little photo of my three posing in front of the beach shortly after we arrived at the campground. I added a little scrap of striped paper and a white label stamped with pieces from Monthly Moments: July.
When you turn the page you find these two photos.
I accented this one of them running towards the beach with the geotag die from the Monthly Moments: July and added it above a little label stamped from the cordianting stamp set. I used a white gel pen to add a border to the label.
Next up are a few photos of Hannah and Ethan dipping their toes in the water.
I used this sentiment from Get Lost (more about this later in the week) in Hawaiian Shores and Berry Sorbet to add a label to the corner. I added another die-cut geo tag here as well.
On the next pages I created some custom polka dots by punching out circles from two different patterns and piecing them bck together. Another one of my day section pages is here as well.
Another postcard of journaling appears here facing a photo of Hannah & Ethan on the canons at Fort Pickens. I added a label created with Label Basics and images from Monthly Moments: July.
The next pages feature more photos from Fort Pickens. I added the "On an adventure" arrow from Monthly Moments: Travel Plans by heat embossing it onto vellum and adding it to the lower corner.
On the other side I added a small banner with Summer Sunrise bitty dot paper and then monograms using the Polka Dot Parade Alphabet & Numbers dies. I also added a small hear cut from Berry Sorbet striped paper and coated with Glossy Accents.
Another day section divider here facing a photo of Fort Pickens itself. A Sketched Star die cut from Summer Sunrise bitty dot paper accents the journaling I added at the bottom.
Another journaling postcard here alongside a photo of the kids helping make camp doughnuts.
The next two pages are some of my favorites in the album. The first features a photo of Hannah in the sand. The second is created from Clear Cardstock.
I dry brushed some white acrylic paint around the edges of the clear cardstock and allowed it to dry. I die-cut three layers of Aqua Mist cardstock with the new Wet Paint Cuts II die and adhered them together. This was mounted onto the front of the clear page. I then die-cut a Circle Scribble from Summer Sunrise cardstock and adhered it to the back of the page. A small silver star sequin was adhered for the dot above the "i".
Behind that you can see this page peeking through. It is a picture of the road going down the penninsula away from Fort Pickens as we traveled into Pensacola for dinner. I stamped directly onto the photo with Noir Palette ink using words and images from Monthly Moments: Travel Plans.
When you turn the page you find this photo of the kids at Peg Leg Pete's and another day divider page.
There are a few more photo, with this favorite serving as the end. I added the die-cut "life" from the Wet Paint Cuts II die collection in white. then stamped "enjoy" from Monthly Moments: Travel Plans in Noir Palette directly onto the photo. I also added a die-cut "3" using the Polka Dot Parade Alphabet dies.

The travel themed pieces of the Monthly Moments: July collection were perfect for building a mini book to document our weekend. I hope you are inspired to put together an album or some layouts of your own from your travels so that you and your loved ones can look back at the memories that you made. Even though our trip wasn't that long ago, I already hear "remember when we did that?" as my family paged through the book."
