Butterflies.....they're beautiful and graceful, colorful and each one unique. We're celebrating these beauties today, with a gorgeous new stamp set called Life is Beautiful. We hope to leave you feeling as inspired by these lovely winged creatures as we are! And so, we bring you butterfly inspiration from the whole design team!
These bold butterflies will soon become some of your favorite images to work with. The main butterflies have detailed openings, allowing them to be used alone. For extra pizzazz you can add a second layer of color with the coordinating accent stamp. Since the butterflies are so bold, you can use them for all sorts of wonderful techniques! Build your own customized sentiments with the various elements included as well!
The Details:
- Life is Beautiful will be available for purchase on May 15th.
- It will retail for $24.
- Life is Beautiful contains a total of 32 images. The large butterfly measures 3-1/4” x 2-3/8”. The smaller butterfly measures 2-1/2” x 2”. The script “Beautiful” measures 2-5/8”. Designed to coordinate with the Circle Scribbles stamp set released back in February, these dies are detailed enough that you can use them alone or with the companion stamp set! You'll love the design options these new dies will open up for you!

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first project today I couldn't help but have fun layering several of the new dies together! They are just SO detailed and fun to work with!
I die-cut two of the largest Circle Scribbles dies using New Leaf and Limeade Ice. I adhered them to my white card front with a 2-way glue pen and then trimmed off the overhang with a sharp craft knife.
The small and large butterflies were cut from Vellum cardstock. I stitched them to the card front with my sewing machine. They're just SO pretty and lacey!
I stamped the sentiments onto strips of white cardstock using Tropical Teal ink. Then they are adhered with foam tape for dimension.
Everything was adhered to a Tropical Teal card base.
I had a lot of fun with the techniques on this card, not to mention they were super easy too!
I die-cut the large butterfly from Limeade Ice, Hibiscus Burst and white cardstock. I took out all of the interior cut-out pieces from the white die-cut so I could stamp them. There is a small dot cluster stamp in this set that I stamped repeatedly on each piece using Raspberry Fizz ink. I would start on one end of the piece and then keep stamping down the length of it without re-inking. For some of the larger pieces I used this method twice. I popped out the small circles from the edge of the wings on the Hibiscus Burst die-cut. I inserted these back into the Limeade Ice butterfly and added Glossy Accents to them. They look like little jewels sparkling in the wings.
I stamped "beautiful" in Raspberry Fizz on a strip of white cardstock and mounted it with foam tape. I added the companion sentiments directly onto the card front with True Black ink.
A Raspberry Fizz card base finishes everything off nicely.
I wanted to go for more of a vintage look with my next butterfly creation. I started with Background Basics: Postmarks stamped in Melon Berry onto my card front.
I heat embossed the smaller butterfly with Cleat Filigree Embossing Powder. I then sponged over the butterfly with Melon Berry ink. I love how you can see the Postmarks background through the embossing. I stamped a few accents within the wings using Canyon Clay ink.
The sentiment was added in the lower corner using a combination of Dark Chocolate and Canyon Clay ink.
Everything was adhered to a Classic Kraft card base. I tied a bit of Chocolate Baker's Twine around the spine of the card.
I had a lot of fun with this quick and easy card using the smaller butterfly from the set. Layering all of these colors together makes for a bright and cheerful greeting that any recipient would appreciate.
I love the two-step stamp that fills in all of the butterfly opening with just one impression. It makes it so easy to add detail and contrast.
I added the sentiment components in True Black. Don't you just love the script "Beautiful"? It's one of my favorite images in the set for sure.
To help carry the eye around the card, I added a frame using a ruler and black pen, making sure to skip over the sentiment so that it is still easy to read.
There is no way I could resist using Perfect Pearls with these gorgeous butterflies! I started with Tropical Teal cardstock as my base.
I stamped them with VersaMark ink and then brushed them with Turquoise Perfect Pearls. As an additional accent, and to help the sentiment pop, I added small dots of white pen to the openings in the wings.
The sentiment was heat embossed in the lower corners with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
The technique I used on this card is called ombre embossing, and these butterflies are bold enough that it is a perfect match for them.
I stamped the butterflies in VersaMark and then sprinkled them half with Cricket Zing and half with Aqua Zing. I heat embossed them and let them cool just a bit. Using a black pen, I added lines of dots in each opening of the butterfly wings.
The sentiment was added in a clean, crsip True Black.
