Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
I could hardly wait to ink up Background Basics: Random Stripes! It is SUCH a great set for quick and easy cards. Just pair it up with a favorite sentiment and you are ready to go!
Here I inked the bolder of the two random stripe strips in an ombre scheme using Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal, blending the colors a bit in between. After making my impression, I stamped a second time slightly lower than the first time. The shadow effect adds that little something.
I added this sentiment from Wet Paint using True Black ink. Everything was mounted onto a Tropical Teal card base.
For this card I used one of the small narrow blocks of random stripes to create this rainbow accent.
I started at the top with Pure Poppy ink and then worked my way down through a rainbow of colors, overlapping them with each impression. It was really easy to do and I can imagine doing this in several combinations.
I added one of the thank you sentiments from Keep It Simple: Thank You in True Black just under the rainbow accent. Everything was adhered to a Pure Poppy card base.
On this card I created a full background by repeating the striped strips three times, staggering them a bit to help look the overall pattern look more random.
I layered Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise and Raspberry Fizz for each section. Love, love, LOVE this!
To finish, I used Initial Thoughts in Raspberry Fizz and True Black to create my sentiment block. A white card base completes this project.
This sweet new teepee set is just SO much fun to work with! You can mix and match the different halves to create your own custom teepees featuring a great mix of colors! There are so many ways to mix it up, you can create a completely different teepee every time!
There are also some super stylish and trendy chevron style arrows in the set. Here I paired several of them up to create a border. I added a piece of white crochet thread to the center of the border and finished it with a bow.
The teepee was created with die-cut laters and stamps in Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest and Aqua Mist. One of my favorite things? The stitches I was able to add along the middle with another stamp included in the set!
I added a strip of Summer Sunrise gingham paper along the bottom edge of the white card base to help draw the eye down.
Sometimes, especially with cards for the men in our lives, it is hard to decide on what type of focal point to use without being too *girly*. This new maze set is the perfect thing to cure that!
I stamped this square maze onto white cardstock and heat embossed it in white. I then colored the correct path through the maze with Copic markers, filling in the remainder of the maze with a T1 marker. "you" and "me" were stamped on scrap paper and cut out, then added to the maze with foam tape for dimension.
This strip of Smokey Shadow cardstock at the bottom of the card holds the sentiment, heat embossed in white.
The second portion of the sentiment is simply stamped on the interior of the card.
Love the bright pop of color on this card!
There are some fantastic die-cuts you can also purchase to go along with this great new set! To begin this project, I used a sponge dauber to blend stripes of Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Limeade Ice and Simply Chartreuse. I then added a few drops of water with a paintbrush and let them dry. Since the ink is dye based, the water leaves a small area that is lightened.
I die-cut the round maze from this background and inlaid the same shape sie-cut from white. I added my own path with a black pen. "Start" and "Finish" were stamped in True Black ink.
I used a separate strip of white cardstock to add the sentiment in True Black.
This would be a great graduation card or a note of encouragement!
One of the great things about the new Modern Cross Quilt stamp set and coordinating Cover Plate is that you can get so many looks from it based on the colors you choose! I opted to go for a bright and colorful look with lots of citrus colors.
I die-cut the plate from both Aqua Mist and white. I popped out all of the white pieces and stamped them with several of the patterned crosses from the coordinating stamp set. I then arranged them in place on the Aqua Mist version.
I used the new Phrase Play #3 die with white cardstock to create my sentiment and accent.
A white gel pen helped me to add a hand stitched look around the perimeter of the card.
Whether you are a dedicated football family or just know a huge football fan, this next set will be perfect for creating birthday cards, encouragement notes and "way to go!" exclamations whenever you need them! The detail and thought that Lizzie put into this set is just incredible!
I kept this card pretty simple by just stamping the football image onto Vintage Cream cardstock with Dark Chocolate ink. That football just looks so realistic! I added the birthday sentiment underneath in Ripe Avocado.
I adhered that to a Ripe Avocado card base and wrapped it with some Dark Chocolate Baker's Twine.
When you pair the alphabet and numbers foound in the Football Frenzy Additions set with the jersey found in the original set, you have a match made in heaven! So many customization possibilities! I created this card for Owen, who is actually playing soccer right now. This jeresy can be used for a variety of sports, not just football!
The jersey was stamped in Fresh Snow ink onto Classic Kraft cardstock. I was then able to stamp the stripes in his school color, Pinefeather. Isn't that fun? To be able to customize the school colors?!?!? I then spelled out "Hawks" and added Owen's number "9" using Pinefeather ink again. The jersey was outlined with a T1 Copic marker to help give it some definition.
I brushed a bit of Fresh Snow ink around the perimeter of the card front and adhered it to a Pinefeather base.
For my last card I could hardly wait to bust out the new Letterman Stitched Number dies for a graduation card I needed!
Check out the detail here with these stitched felt numbers! I was able to use the school colors and replicate the exact look of the ones found on their letterman jackets!
I used sentiments from Congrats All Ways above and below the numbers stamped in Smokey Shadow. The cover was cut a bit narrow and I added diagonal stripes using Background Basics: Diagonals Additions onto the Scarlet Jewel card base.
