Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
I just HAD to start with the ice cream truck becuase it is one of my favorites!
I started by creating this chalkboard inspired mat using True Black cardstock and the concepts Betsy Velman outlined in her chalkboard tutorial Make It Monday video several months ago. I heat embossed elements from Strawberry Patch Sentiments onto the board using White Filigree Embossing Powder. I then stamped a second time over everything using Fresh Snow ink, giving it the shadow effect. I rubbed a little extra Fresh Snow ink around the perimeter to make it look as if there were a few chalk smudges.
Next, I created the truck. It was die-cut from white cardstock and stamped with all of the various elements from the Special Delivery set. I just cannot say enough good things about this collection! Erin has though of every single detail and executed it to perfection!
I added Raspberry Fizz polka dot paper to the background and also die-cut a scalloped border (Be Happy dies) to the top using Limeade Ice cardstock.
Now for a card that is perfect for a friend that is moving away.
I die-cut all of the letters from the Block Alphabet die using white cardstock. I then adhered them in order in rows along the top half of this white card front, skipping the letter "u".
I added the sentiment "missing" from Fillable Frames Additions 1 as well as the arrow from Destination. This points to the moving van that features a large "U". Therefore completeing the visial phrase, "Missing U".
The mocing truck is almost as cute as the ice cream truck! I added stripes in Dark Chocolate and the remaining details in True Black.
A rainbow of stripes are displayed on the diagonal at the bottom of the card, using Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise and Simple Chartreuse.
If you are anything like me, you are always looking for creative ways to make baby cards, something outside of the standard ducks, rattles and the blue & pink. This Special Delivery set has the perfect thing!
I stamped the main elements of this diaper service truck using VersaMark and heat embossing it with White Filigree Embossing Powder. I then added the polks dot pattern layer with Fresh Snow ink.
I created this sentiment block with the "postal stripes" that are included in Special Delivery Sentiments and Spring Moss & Melon Berry inks. The sentiment wa added in the center and the ends were trimmed with pinking shears.
An Aqua Mist card base finishes things up, stamped with Polka Dot Basics II using Fresh Snow ink.
Now, just look at this sweet news van I have created with this set!
I stamped the outlines and main details in Charcoal Palette ink. I then added the "accessories" in Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise. "WPTI" totally makes me smile! I love how she snuck that in there!
The Circle Scribbles reminded me of the invisible signal that might be generated by the satelite on the truck. I stamped small circles in rows using a whole rainbow of colors, each one triple stamped without reinking to create a softer effect.
