Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For this project I decided to pair up several of the new sets with a fresh spring color scheme, to help warm things up in this cold winter weather!
I stamped several of the leaves from the new Leave It Be set, layering them in a collage style, using Spring Moss, Aqua Mist and Harvest Gold. I then followed that up with the veins for each leaf in VersaMark which were heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
For the sentiment, I started with a scalloped circle cut out with the Limitless Layers: 2-1/2" Circle die from Aqua Mist cardstock. I then stamped it with the coordinating basic label image from the new Limitless Layers: Labels set in Aqua Mist ink. I just LOVE how you can use this label image with both the decorative edged diws and the basic dies from each Limitless Layers die set. It is such a beautiful way to set them off, and not to mention easy too!
I heat embossed the two parts of this sentiments from the new Birthday Classics: February with White Filigree Embossing Powder. There is a beautiful stamp for the word "February" included in the stamp set, but I opted to mix things up just a bit and use the new Monthly Moments: February die with Harvest Gold cardstock instead. Everything is adhered to a Spring Moss card front.
Another February birthday card here! One of the wonderful things about Dawn's new Leave It Be set is that you can bring a completely different look and style to the previously released floral sets! Here I have pulled out an old favorite, Beautiful Blooms.
I stamped each of the flowers twice using Summer Sunrise ink, stamping twice and rotating the stamp between impressions. I am giving you a sneak peek at a new die today with these flower centers! They were die-cut from Canyon Clay cardstock and tied in place with Rustic Cream Button Twine.
The leaves were stamped in Fine Linen with the gorgeous stitched veins in Classic Kraft. As the finishing touch, a sentiment combination from Birthday Classics: February is added in Dark Chocolate.
Everything was mounted onto a Classic Kraft card base. Imagine all of the color combinations you could use with this simple card layout!
Now for something a bit different, and definitely more bold. This black and gray card is accented with bright punches of gold, perfect for celebrating a birthday! You can barely see it in the photos, but I started with the small oval frame from Limitless Layers: Labels in True Black. It's just a watermark, but it really helps to anchor the sentiment in real life. The sentiment, also from Limitless Layers: Labels, was heat embossed with Gold Filigree Embossing Powder.
The edges of the Smokey Shadow card base were stamped with diagonal stripes using True Black ink and Background Basics: Diagonals Additions. I cut the True Black card front a bit narrow and attached it to the card base using foam tape for dimension.
I diecut these gorgeous stars (more about them later in the week!!!) from gold shimmer cardstock and then pressed them into my VersaMark pad, heat embossing them with Gold Filigree Embossing Powder too.
The stars were adhered with a two-way glue pen, scattered up the card front around the sentiment.
I'm sure you won't mind if I share yet another floral card with you! *wink*
I traced the Tipped Top die-cut onto the Rustic White card base and then stamped the flowers and leaves around the edge of the line. The leaves are from the new Leave It Be set, and I stamped them in New Leaf, cleaned my stamp well and went back in and stamped them again in Soft Stone just slightly off from the original impressions. It creates a subtle shadowed look. The flowers are from Floral Fusion #4. I added them with Tropical Teal and Hawaiian Shores. The centers of the flowers are from Solid Stitches & Swirls.
I die-cut the Tipped Tops die from New Leaf cardstock and stamped this FABULOUS sentiment from Birthday Classics: February in Pinefeather. For the record, I will be using Pinefeather a lot now that Tropical Teal is in town. I just love them together!
I adhered the Tipped Tops die-cut in place with foam tape for dimension.
Now for the lovely Text Block Birthday die. Cannot. Wait. For all of you to get to play with this! So, so fun!!! I started by stamping my background. I used Melon Berry cardstock as my base and stamped several images from Beuatiful Butterflies using Canyon Clay, Berry Sorbet and Raspberry Fizz inks.
I then die cut the Melon Berry block with the Text Block: Birthday die, reserving the interior pieces. I die-cut Rustic White cardstock and adhered it in the opening, putting the Melon Berry pieces back in place. I left some of the tiny pieces out because I wanted to help draw attention to the dimension, keeps tings from being a bit too flat. This inlaid technique is just STUNNING with this die! I wish you could see and touch this in person!
I stamped and cut out one of the small butterflies and added it to the side of the "B", finished with a tiny rhinestone.
You could create a similar card with nearly any solid stamp images and colors!
The new Text Block: Birthday die was just screaming to be used on a window card! I cut a rectangle from a Raspberry card front and stamped it with Background Basics: Super stripes in Fresh Snow. I love adding stripes on the diagonal like this, just gives things a more modern & trendy twist.
The Text Block Birthday die was cut from Limeade Ice cardstock and adhered to a block of Clear Cardstock.
It was then adhered in place with 1/8" Scor-tape over the window opening.
These stars are scattered on the interior, which was lined with white.
The stars were die-cut from Summer Sunrise cardstock and covered with Prisma Glitter.
I love how you can see them peeking through the window!
As a little treat I saved for last, I have a few Monthly Moments layouts to share with you. I started this new album just to hold photos from all of the fun things David and I do togehter, just the two of us. They don't happen very often, but when they do I will love being able to put everything in one place so I can bring back the memories often. This is the title page I created using several of the new products highlighted today. This is a 3x4 vertical four pocket page protector.
I die-cut the Cover Plate: Circles from Simply Chartreuse cardstock can cut the corner to 3x4 to fit into a pocket. I love the transparency of the design, giving a peek at the page underneath. Looking forward to playing around with this technique with all of my other Cover Plates too! The other two pockets were filled with Ocean Tides cards stamped with Background Basics: Super stripes using Fresh Snow ink.
I die-cut the Limitless Layers: 3-1/2" Oval from white cardstock and stamped it with the new Limitless Layers: Labels using Terracotta Tile ink. I used the dotted lines stamp from the same set to add the journaling lines using Charcoal Palette ink. I die-cut the Bookprint Alphabet letters from Classic Kraft cardstock three times and adhered & stacked them together to give them a bit of a chipboard look. The new Leaves from Leave It Be were die-cut from Simply Chartreuse cardstock and the veins were heat embossed with Gold Filigree Embossing Powder. I love how you can get a completely different look with these leaves by just using the die-cuts and veins together!
I cut a little strip of cardstock from Classic Kraft cardstock and stamped a phrase from the new Monthly Moments: Slide Frame set. The ends were then trimmed with pinking shears. I added a "stitched" look to either end by just doing some selective inking to the journaling lines stamp included in the Limitless Layers: Labels set. This strip along with the oval label above it were adhered on TOP of the page protector with foam tape and Scor-tape.
For the second page, I used double 4x6 horizontal pocket protector. A photo of us is added to the bottom pocket.
I kept it simple when adding to it and just die-cut a Limitless Layers: 1-3/4" scalloped circle die, stamped with Ocean Tides using the coordinating label image from Limitless Layers: Labels. The sentiment is from the same set, added in True Black. I finished it with the date added in by hand. A little thing to note, you don't always need to leave these labels whole. Trim the side off to get different looks.
For the top portion, I started with a 4x6 piece of Classic Kraft cardstock, stamped with Polka Dot Basics in Fresh Snow. The Monthly Moments: Slife Frame die was cut from Simply Chartreuse. I trimmed a square of Clear Cardstock to fit behind it and stamped it with Irresistibly Ikat using White StazOn. I cut and notched a slim strip of Canyon Clay cardstock and stamped it with a sentiment from the Monthky Moments: Slide Frame stamp set. I adhered this across the frame. The monograms were die-cut with the Bookprint Upper dies from Ocean Tides, adhered above and below the sentiment strip. This entire frame was adhered on top of my page protector with foam tape. I can already tell that I'm going to have a lot of fun with this Slide Frame die!!!
