Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
I thought I would start off with a super simple little card today using watercoloring and heat emboss resist, one of my very favorite techniques.
I embossed the flowers and leaves from Doodlie-do with White Filigree Embossing Powder. I love how the embossing picks up every single detail! I then used ink refills and water to watercolor the images.
The sentiment was heat embossed as well onto a piece of Soft Stone cardstock and trimmed down to a small rectangle.
An Aqua Mist card base finishes it off. When you work with detailed images like this, you can keep your card super simple and still have plenty of interest.
I thought it would be fun to pair up the new Doodlie-do images with the Figure of Speech Frame die. I die cut the frame from Classic Kraft cardstock and then stamped it with Background Basics: Super Stripes in Fresh Snow.
I die-cut Wonderful Words: Friends from True Black cardstock and adhered it across the opening in the frame.
On the white card base underneath I stamped several flowers from Doodlie-do with Noir Palette ink. I then colored the images in with Copic markers. A few dabs of a Stardust pen add some shimmer.
"Til the End" (from Wonderful Words: Friends) is added in True Black underneath the opening in the frame.
My next card is inspired by vintage wallpaper I stumbled across on Pinterest.
The flower clusters were stamped across the Rustic White card front in Noir Palette. I then watercolored them with ink refills, being sure to go a bit outside of the lines for a more artistic look.
The sentiment was added to the upper left corner to help add visual balance.
Rhinestones were added to the centers of the flowers for dimension. Everything was adhered to a Classic Kraft card base.
I've always loved the way gold embossing looks with New Leaf and Hawaiian Shores and I thought I would pull out this old favorite for my next project.
I heat embossed a New Leaf card front with multiple images from Doodlie-do. The detail here is just breathtaking in person! I wish you could just see and feel this for yourself!
I kept things simple and just die-cut the Framed Friends die from Hawaiian Shores and adhered it in place with Scor-tape.
For my last card I just have a bit more Copic coloring for you.
I stamped the flowers and leaves with Noir Palette ink and colored everyhting in with Copics.
I thought this banner sentiment from Fancy Folk Art would coordinate well with the style of these flowers. I added it underneath in Noir Black and then stamped it again on scrap paper. I colored the second version in and cut it out with scissors. I adhered it on top of the original with foam tape for dimension.
I notched the corners of the card front with a 7/8" circle punch and adhered ito to a Classic Kraft card base. I can see recreating this in lots of different colors!
