Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
When I designed the new Framed Love die, I knew one of the things that I wanted to try with it was a window card like this.
I started by cutting the die from white cardstock. I traced the interior edge of the frame onto an Aqua Mist card front with pencil and used a craft knife to cut the window out. After that step, I just added some 2-way glue to the edges of the window and adhered the die-cut into place.
With a window card like this, it's all about the interior. Images from Year of Flowers: Roses were heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder. I watercolored the image using Hibiscus Burst and Simply Chartreuse ink refills.
This beautiful sentiment from The Best is Yet To Be Sentiments set was heat embossed in white as well. I used an Aqua Mist ink refill to watercolor the entire background around the flower, going a bit darker over the sentiment.
I tied a piece of white crochet thread around the edge of the card to help break things up a bit and add texture.
The new Best is Yet To Be set contains everything you need to create projects for lots of different love-themed projects, including weddings. This quick and easy project comes together effortlessly but is elegant enough for any couple to receive on their big day. I started with a piece of Soft Stone striped paper and cut a card front with the stripes on the diagonal. I then trimmed a diagonal strip from the middle of it and traced the edge of each half onto my white card cover.
In between the pencil lines, I added the words "on your wedding day" in True Black. I then used several elements from The Best is Yet To Be to add floral accents to each end of the phrase. Each image was double stamped without reinking to create the shadow effect. I used a black pen to add small clusters of dots to the center of each flower.
Inisde & Out: Love has some fabulous things to add to the inside of cards, like this one that is perfect for weddings or anniversaries. I added this in True Black ink.
The two Soft Stone pieces were then attached with foam tape for dimension. White crochet thread was adhered in place and tied in a bow as a finishing detail.
My next project is pretty quick and easy as well, a little something that would work well for an anniversary perhaps.
I stamped the heart from The Best is Yet To Be in True Black onto Vintage Cream cardsstock. I then added the various flowers and leaves from the set in Melon Berry and Simply Chartreuse. I stamped the round flowers separately onto a scrap of cardstock in Pure Poppy and punched them out with a 1/2" circle punch. I roughed up the edges of each circle with my fingernail and adhered them into place. Once again, I used a black pen to add dot details to the centers of the blooms.
I used the Label Basics set and a coordintating Angled Labels die to create a frame for the sentiment. The frame was stamped in Melon Berry and the sentiment (from The Best is Yet To Be) was stamped in True Black.
The sentiment for the interior, also from Inside & Out: Love, is one of my favorites from the set since it quote Mrs. Darcy (Pride & Prejudice)! The phrases at the beginning and the end of the quote are interchangeable so you can use it for weddings and other happy occasions. It was stamped in True Black ink.
I added Sew Simple Borders to the top of the Vintage Cream block using True Black ink to help add balance. Vintage cream ink was then swiped around the outside edge of the Classic Kraft card base to help soften the edges.
This next card uses the STUNNING border included in The Best is Yet To Be. I simply heat embossed it onto white cardstock to begin.
I watercolored just a bit around the outside edge fo each of the images using Spring Moss, Winter Wisteria, Lavender Moon and Aqua Mist ink refills. This gorgeous sentiment finishes it off, stamped in Charcoal Palette ink.
A Winter Wisteria card base was the perfect pop of color against the white card front.
The new Propose a Toast set is a wonderful set to pull out when you have anything to celebrate, like an anniversary with this card.
The sentiment is grom Inside & Out: Love. I die-cut the glasses from white cardstock and stamped them with the coordinating images from Propose a Toast. Glossy Accents were added to the glasses to help them have a realistic shine.
I die-cut the new Notched Heart Banner die twice, from Simply Chartreuse and Hawaiian Shores cardstock and used the leftover hearts to create "bubbles" coming fromt he champagne glasses. They were adheed with a 2-way glue pen.
I used a Classic Kraft card base for this project, but it would look amazing in Smokey Shadow as well for a bit more sophistication.
This sentiment from Inside & Out: Love is one of my favorites as well because you have the opportunity to personalize the card for the recipient with the number of years they have been married. The mini set of numbers included make it an easy design detail to incorporate.
I stamped this star chart from Star Gaazer Additions with a mixture of Spring Rain and Winter Wisteria. Silver thread was the perfect thing to accent this celestial card.
The sentiment was added in Royal Velvet. After adding the number of years, I applied Glossy Accents to just the numbers to help them pop a bit more.
I added some scattered stars here and there using Spring Rain and Winter Wisteria inks. I also added a few dots using a silver paint pen. Everything was adhered to a Winter Wisteria card base with a Royal Velvet mat.
For my last card today, I have something that just looks very celebratory which could be used for an engagement, wedding or anniversary.
I stamped the glass and sentiment from Propose a Toast onto a white block of cardstock. The liquid was added to the glass using Berry Sorbet ink.
I added "bubbles" the the glass using a favorite image from the previously released Birthday Style set in Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise. I used a 2-way glue pen to add several dots of adhesive to the Berry Sorbet card front, making the dots heavier towards the top, and sprinkled it with mica flakes.
