Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
One of the things I love about Heather Nichols' sets is the simple versatility, which is what Papertrey Ink is all about. I loved making this card using her new Heart Sqaured set.
I die-cut the frame from a block of white cardstock and set the pieces aside. On the white card base I watercolor and allowed it to dry. I then heatembossed the heart frame image with clear embossing powder.
The top layer was adhered over the watercoloring using foam tape for dimension. The center block was stamped with the coordinating sentiment. I used one of the tiny heart images from Cupid's Arrow to add an accent in Pure Poppy. I thought the heart needed a little shine, so I added some glossy accents to it.
I combined the previously released Watercolor Wonder with the new Cupid's Arrow set from Lexi Daly. Her clean graphics make it easy to pair up her images with a variety of other things. The watercolor stripes were added in random directions using Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist and Simply Chartreuse.
I then added the bow and arrow images from Cupid's Arrow in true Black, followed by sentiments from Wonderful Words: Love.
Everything was adhered to a Raspberry Fizz card base. Super easy and all one layer so it is inexpensive to mail!
I wanted to go with a bit of a chalkboard look for my next project. It all started with a block of Smokey Shadow cardstock.
I stamped this GORGEOUS nested heart image from Cupid's Arrow with VersaMark a few times in a scattered pattern and heat embossed them in Rouge Zing! powder. I then added more and heat embossed them in Grapefruit. Followed by a few more in Black Filigree powder.
For the sentiments, I used Wonderful Words: Love. I heat embossed the companion sentiment in White Filigree Powder first. The I stamped it again in Fresh Snow and smudged it a bit with my fingertip. The large "Love" was added above that along with one of the trendy arrows from Cupid's Arrow.
I used my fingertip to add a bit more Fresh Snow ink around the edges of the card cover to give it more of a chalkboard look. It was then mounted onto a white card base.
Next up is one of my favorites from today, super simple and easy to recreate.
I started by watercoloring a block of white cardstock in a rainbow of ink refills. I allowed it to dry and die-cut the Wonderful Words: Love die from it and set it aside. I cut a block of Soft Stone cardstock for my card cover and die-cut the word from it as well. The companion sentiment was heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder, just above the die-cut opening. I adhered the Soft Stone cardstock to my card cover, being sure to adhere all of the delicate areas around the opening. I then nested the word into place.
I punched two small notches on either side of the white card base to use to house my white crochet thread. I wrapped it around three times and finished it with a bow.
I think this would be a fabulous layout to use for nearly all of the Wonderful Words sets!
Next up is a few more of my favorite things! The new Boutique Borders: Valentine collection along with the Notched Heart Banner dies. I love that these new Notched Banner dies are interchangeable with the previously released star version. Makes for lots of fun mixing and matching between the plain mat and new scalloped mat!
I die-cut the Boutique Borders: Valentine frame from white cardstock and then added the coordianting image in Simply Chartreuse. The sentiment tucked in nicely using Hawaiian Shores ink.
I die-cut the scalloped layer of the Notched Heart Banner die collectionfrom Hawaiian Shores striped paper. The top layer was cut from white cardstock and adhered in place. I just love the detail that all of the die-cut hearts add to this project. A lot of pop for hardly any effort!
Everything was mounted onto an Aqua Mist card base.
I have another project for you mixing the new Heart Squared and Cupid's Arrow sets!
The frame was just begging for a bit of an ombre treatment, so I die-cut it and heat embossed it using white filigree embossing powder. I watercolored over the top of the embossing using Summer Sunrise and Hibiscus Burst ink refills.
In the center of the frame I added the nested hearts image from Cupid's Arrow in Summer Sunrise, followed by a solid heart in the center using Hibiscus Burst. The sweet "love struck" sentiment was the final addition in Charcoal Palette ink. The arrow (from Cupid's arrow as well) was die-cut and added on top of the frame. I think this could be adapted to amke some realy cute Valentine tags as well!
Sometimes it's fun to do something in an untraditional color scheme for a "love" themed card. I thought I would put together Smokey Shadow, Enchanted Evening, Hawaiian Shores & Aqua Mist for this particular card. I stamped across the card front with the nested hearts image from Cupid's Arrow in True Black to begin.
I did something a bit different with the frame this go around. I notched the four corners of the die-cut with a circle punch to give it a slightly unique shape. I inked the frame stamp with a mix of Hawaiian Shores & Enchanted Evening, allowing the two colors to fade into one another. The frame was then coated with a thick layer of glossy accents and allowed to dry. The sentiment, from the previously released With All My Heart set, was heat embossed with White Filigree Embnossing Powder.
I accented the frame with some white crochet thread around the edge, finished with a bow. Everything is adhered to a white card base.
I have one more quick and easy note card to share with you today. I wanted to showcase how the trendy arrows in Cupid's Arrow can be used for more than just love themed projects.
I stamped the arrows in a row using Limeade Ice, Summer Sunrise and Melon Berry inks. A small pearl was added to each one for dimension. The sentiment, from Fillable Frames #12, was the perfect touch between the arrows, stamped in Charcoal Palette ink. These would be easy to mass produce and give as a gift set!
