Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first card I opted to go with one of my favorite techniques with Cover Plate dies, and that is punching the shapes out, stamping them and replacing them into the die-cut. As I mentioned above, there is a space for sentiments to be added easily onto the Cover Plate die-cut frame. This *strip* was placed perfectly into the design on the die so that you could cut the top portion off with your paper trimmer and be left with a block that fit nicely onto a horizontal A2 card. This is what I did here with white cardstock.
The hearts were stamped in the various patterns found in the coordinating Happy Hearts stamps set. I used a combonation of Orange Zest, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise and Melon Berry inks. I also left a few openings blank for added texture.
I heat embossed this fun love arrow onto a strip of Melon Berry cardstock with White Filigree Embossing Powder. I cut the end of the strip to coordinate with the angle of the end of the arrow. It is mounted in place with foam tape.
I can imagine recreating this design with other color combinations too!
I have always loved the idea of letterpress and by using a quick and easy trick, I was able to achieve the look of silver foil letterpress in a matter of minutes!
I started by impressing the Cover Plate: Hearts into Ocean Tides cardstock. I heat embosseed another sentiment from Happy Hearts into the opening in the pattern with Silver Filigree Embossing Powder.
I then used a silver paint pen to *trace* each of the impressed hearts. This was super easy to execute because the tip of the pen fit nicely in the groove created by the impression plate.
I love the look this achieves and how easy it is!
I have one more quick card for you today. A simple white card with a bit of rainbow pop!
The sentiment was stamped in True Black ink. I die-cut the hearts using the Cover Plate and stamped them in various patterns from Happy Hearts using Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise. Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores and Hibiscus Burst. The hearts were arranged in a circular formation at the end of the sentiment.
I wrapped some white twine around the edge of the card and finished it with a bow.
