Introducing Come All Ye Faithful

Today, we celebrate man's best friend, with a darling new collection of products for dog lovers everywhere.  Who can resist those furry friends, those loyal companions, those cuddly creatures who follow us everywhere and are always by our side?  Grab your puppies -- young and old -- and snuggle up, because we've got quite a bit of fun in store for you today!

Warm up the cold winter months with these sweater-wearing pups. Come All Ye Faithful, designed by Erin Lincoln, features three dog silhouettes. Each dog stamp comes with two different patterned sweater options and contrasting cuffs to be stamped in the color combination of your liking. Fun holiday and winter themed sentiments bring some frivolity to your next project and are sure to make your recipients laugh out loud. Words in the larger, bolder style font come as separate stamps for a multiple step stamping approach when completing sentiments.

The sentiments are geared toward tickling funny bones and are the perfect accompaniment for the festive dogs.

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get on to the projects!

I thought it was appropriate to start this post off with a holiday project, just as the set was intended.

I started with the background.  I stamped Background Basics: Sheet Music in Classic Kraft and then added the *song lyrics* from Come All Ye Faithful Additions in Ripe Avocado.  I love the way you can subtly see the sheet music through the letters.

I die-cut the dog from Classic Kraft cardstock and stamped the coordinating dog image in Dark Chocolate.  I added the sweater trim in Simply Chartreuse and the sweater body in Ripe Avocado.

I added the evergreen bough images from Love Lives Here: Holiday around the dog in Ripe Avocado and the berries in Scarlet Jewel.  The card was finished off with a Scarlet Jewel card base.

Now for something a bit more bold and bright!  I thought the house outline from Gingerbread Lane looked a bit like a doghouse, so that was the jumping point for this project.  I heat embossed the house onto a Classic Kraft card front using White Filigree Embossing Powder.

I die-cut the dog from white cardstock and stamped it with the coordinating dog image in Fine Linen.  The sweater trim was added in Raspberry Fizz and the polka-dotted sweater body in Simply Chartreuse.  The Polka Dot Parade #9 star die allowed me to add the perfect embellishment to the sweater in Raspberry Fizz felt.  I adore this string of lights that is included in the additions set, the detail of the die really makes it.  I stamped the cord in Dark Chocolate and then added light bulbs in Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz and Simply Chartreuse.  

I added a strip of Hawaiian Shores cardstock to the bottom of the card to help ground everything and provide a place to add the sentiment.  This sentiment is from Love Lives Here: Holidays and heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.  I also added the Loop de Loop II Border die in white cardstock.

Raspberry Fizz Baker's Twine was the last thing I added which helped to add a bit more balance and take up the empty space that was leftover to the right of the dog image.  Everything is adhered to a Classic Kraft card base.

My next project is a bit more simple in design and features subdued colors.

I die-cut the dog from some old bookprint and the sweater from Aqua Mist cardstock.  I stamped the details on the sweater in Ocean Tides.  The angel wing was die-cut from white cardstock and stamped it with the coordinating image in Soft Stone.  The halo was heat embossed directly onto the Fine Linen card front using Gold Filigree Embossing Powder.

These sentiments, from Come All Ye Faithful Additions, were added wit True Black and gold heat embossing again.  I just LOVE the fonts that Erin selected for these sets.  They really have such a polished look to them.

I added slim strips of white cardstock above and below the sentiments with 1/8" Scor-tape.  An Ocean Tides card base finishes it all off.

Now I have a few non-holiday projects to share with you, showcasing how you can use these sweet little pups for occasions all year round.  There are SO many of our previously released sets that can be mixed and matched with elements from Come All Ye Faithful and the Additions.  Here I opted to work in Scattered Showers!

I stamped the dog directly onto my Classic Kraft card front with True Black ink.  The sweater was die-cut from Pure Poppy cardstock and then I stamped the coordinating images onto it in VersaMark.  I die-cut the umbrella from Harvest Gold cardstock and stamped it in Summer Sunrise.  I used a 2-way glue pen to adhere embossing powder and heat set the polka dots.  I stamped the handle directly onto the sweater and background with True Black ink and then added the umbrella top with foam tape.  The sentiment, also from Scattered Showers, was heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.

To help ground everything I added two slim strips of Pure Poppy cardstock that was stamped with Sew Simple Borders using True Black ink.

The dog seemed to be missing just a little something, so I added a black rhinestone as has nose.

After digging some more through my collection I stumbled accross this little graduation cap from Tag-its #4.  I stamped it onto Smokey Shadow cardstock with True Black ink and cut it out with small sharp scissors.  

The dog was die-cut from Ocean Tides cardstock and flipped over so the dog was facing the opposite direction.  I impressed the die-cut shape with the Linen & Canvas impression plate.  The bow tie from the Additions set was the perfect finishing touch.

I created the background with the Cover Plate: Center Stage die.  I die-cut white cardstock with it and adhered it to a block of Soft stone, then cut it down to the size I wanted.  The sentiment, from For the Graduate, was added to the white cardstock strip using True Black ink.

Birthday Style ended up being another great set to pair with these sweet canines.  I die-cut this dog from Soft Stone polka-dotted paper to start things off.

He looked like he needed to hold a bunch of balloons.  So I stamped the balloons and then used white crochet thread to connect the balloons together and tie them with a bow.

The "Wag" sentiment from Come All Ye Faithful Additions was paired up with the "Party Animal" sentiment from It's a Jungle Out There.

I combined all of the borders in Birthday Style at the bottom of the card to help ground the dog.

I wanted something subtle as a card base to the colors of the balloons remain at the forefront.  So I opted to use Soft Stone, and I ended up being really happy with my choice.  

I have one last project to share with you today which is more of an invitation rather than a card.  

I decided to use a bit of an unconventional color for the dog and stamped him in Enchanted Evening.  The sweater was added with Limeade Ice and New Leaf.  I used the new Stitching Lines die to add stitching to the top of my card using white crochet thread.

I used "Come" from Come All Ye Faithful Additions in New Leaf to start out my sentiment.  "STAY" was spelled out with the Fresh Alphabet using Limeade Ice ink under that.  It was finished off with "You're invited" from By Invitation in Enchanted Evening.  I die-cut a slim banner from New Leaf gingham paper using the Sketched Shapes die and added it under my white focal strip.

Introducing Confetti Garland Borders and 'Tis the Season Sentiments

Today, we're bringing you another lovely mix of products, both for the holiday crafter and the year-round crafter as well!  We've truly got a little something for everyone and we hope you enjoy!

Many have admired stitched "garlands" added to paper projects, but not many want to bother with the all the work involved.  This new die collection with coordinating stamp set makes it a breeze! The unique "dotted" line that is cut with the die between shapes makes the paper flexible so you can bend it into curves, just like real garland.  The stamp set coordinates with the dies and you can create lots of different color combinations, patterns and even different styles of "string" to go between the confetti!

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

For my first project today I have a fun shaker card!

To begin, I created the card base and shaker element.  I cut the center from my Smokey Shadow card base using a craft knife and ruler.  I then used Scor-tape to adhere to sheets of Clear Cardstock together, sandwiching these pretty silver star sequins between them.  I then adhered the sandwich to the back of the opening in my card front.  A piece of Soft Stone striped paper was attached to the inside of the back to help add contrast.

For the focal point, I die-cut the "6" from Summer Sunrise and the coordinating mat from Simply Chartreuse.  The "6" was stamped with the star background from Bitty Background Blocks II using Orange Zest ink.  I die-cut Bountiful Banners and stamped it with the coordinating image in Enchanted Evening.  The sentiment was added with VersaMark and heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing powder.  As a finishing touch, I added the die-cut suffix, created with Simply Chartreuse cardstock as well.

I die-cut the star Confetti Garland Border a few times from white cardstock and stamped them with the coordinating images.  I placed mini glue dots on the back of each star section and adhered them in place, adding a bit of curve to them and trimming where necessary.  I just love how this turned out!

In contrast, here is a very clean & simple card using the new Confetti Garland Border products.  I impressed the heart Confetti Garland Border die a couple times into my white card base.  I then used those outlines as a guide for stamping the coordinating elements using Simply Chartreuse, Berry Sorbet and Melon Berry inks.

The sentiment (from With All My Heart) was added between the borders using True Black ink.  I die-cut and trimmed out one single heart from the border, stamped it with Melon Berry and used a 2-way glue pen to cover it with Prisma Glitter.  I adhered it in place with a small piece of foam tape.

All of this was adhered to a Soft stone card base, allowing the colors of the hearts to take center stage.

My next project is a festive Christmas card using a bit of an untraditional color scheme.  I started by stamping a block of Lavender Moon cardstock with Background Basics: Super Stripes and Spring Rain ink.  

I die-cut the snowflake Confetti Garland Borders from white cardstock and stamped them with the coordinating images using Winter Wisteria and Spring Rain inks.  I then adhered these iridescent sequins to the center of each snowflake using a mini glue dot.  A tiny dot of Liquid Pearls finishes the centers.

The sentiment, from the new 'Tis the Season sentiments set, was heat embossed using White Filigree Embossing Powder.

A Winter wisteria card base finishes the project off nicely.

You might be looking at this card wondering, what kind of border die is this?  That isn't in the previews at the top of the post?

This strip was part of my leftovers after die-cutting the snowflake Confetti Garland Borders from white cardstock for my card above.  When I spied it laying on my desk, it just looked like it needed some ikat!

I stamped the border using Irresistibly Ikat in Simply Chartreuse, Summer sunrise and Terracotta Tile.  I used the new Stitching Lines die to add holes to the center of my border strip and did some stitching with white crochet thread.  I finished the end off with a simple knot.  

The sentiment, from Boutique Borders: Thinking of You, was added to the Classic Kraft card base using True Black ink.

I always love design ideas that allow me to personalize with alphabet dies and the new Confetti Garland Borders are perfect for that!

I die-cut the circles Confetti Garland Border die from white cardstock and then added the various coordinating elements using New Leaf, Hawaiian Shores and Spring Rain inks.  I matted each circle with a punched circle of New Leaf cardstock.  The Modern Alphabet letters were die-cut from New Leaf cardstock as well and adhered in place to appear to be "hanging" from the garland.

A simple block of Aqua Mist cardstock adhered to the white care base helps to ground the banner.  Just think of all the fun things you could spell out and the personalization you could achieve with this.

For my last project today I have one more holiday card for you.  This one uses the FABULOUS new Background Basics: Evergreens set.  I just love the shape of the trees and the fact that they are already lined up in a row is a huge bonus.  They can be used to "ground" so many different types of images!  I know they will be getting a lot of use in my studio for projects year round!  Here, I have stamped them in Simply Chartreuse.  I took the time to go back in and die-cut a few individual trees so I could pop them up for dimension.

I set the scene with the deer silhouette from In the Meadow stamped in True Black.  A tiny red rhinestone was added for his nose.  The sentiment, from 'Tis the Season sentiments, was the perfect complement.

The card needed a bit of "weight" at the top to help add balance, so the Loop De Loop II Border die came into play.  I didn't want it to steal the show, so I die-cut it from white cardstock and added it as a fun texture.  Everything was adhered to a Pure Poppy card base.

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

My first project today uses the gorgeous new Rustic Wreath set.  The extra large scale of this wreath makes it easy to create simple cards without having to add anything extra to fill up blank space.  I started by stamping the wreath in Fresh Snow onto Classic Kraft cardstock.

I colored the leaves in with Copic markers.  Then I used a paper piercer to add holes where berries were represented in the image.  Red seed beads were stitched on using red thread.

The sentiment, also from Rustic Wreath,  was added in the center using True Black ink.

The finished card front was adhered to a simple white card base.  I love how this turned out and I am even thinking about making another wreath like this and framing it with our family monogram in the center.  Might make a great gift as well!

On my next project I wanted to show you how you can distort the wreath stamp on your block to take on an oval shape.  Kind of mixes things up a bit and gives you some additional design options.

I heat embossed the wreath image with white filigree embossing powder and then watercolored over it using Simply Chartreuse and Berry Sorbet ink refills.

For the sentiments, I stamped the Script Sentiments "Love You" followed by Boutique Borders: Sympathy "Holding you close in prayer", both in Charcoal Palette.  I die-cut one of the Stitching Lines dies in between the two sentiments and then added white crochet thread as a neutral divider.

The corners of the card front were notched with a 5/8" circle punch.  The white card base has a piece of Soft Stone striped paper on the front to help highlight the simplicity of the wreath.

You can use one side of the wreath to create a pretty garland like I did here on this card.

I stamped the wreath a few times without re-inking to get this nice generational effect.  I used Liquid Pearls to highlight the dots for the berries.

I used the Stitching Lines die as well as the Coffee Cozy Details star die to punch holes in the card front.  I cut a star from Summer Sunrise felt, lined it up with the proper holes and stitched it in place.  Cream twine was used to "hang" the star using the Stitching Lines holes.

The Vintage Cream strip was the perfect place to add this sentiment in Dark Chocolate, also from Rustic Wreath.

Everything was adhered to a Classic Kraft card base.

I fell in love with the final die-cutting results I got when using felt with the new Rustic Wreath die.  The details are so amazing, you don't even necessarily need the coordinating stamp to make it shine.  I started by wrapping a piece of linen striped fabric around a piece of cardstock to use as the base of my project.

This heart was die-cut using the Coffee Cozy Details die and Aqua Mist felt.  I stitched it in the center of the striped backing using white crochet thread in a blanket stitch.  A small wooden button was added to the center.

I die-cut two Rustic Wreath shapes from Limeade Ice felt, layering them on top of one another, making sure that the leaves were facing in reverse directions.  I then stitched the wreaths in place with tiny stitches, adding beads along the way.

I just adore how this little frame turned out and have the perfect place in mind to hang it in my home.  Considering making a few for gifts as well!

My next project uses the fabulous little tree from the new Polka Dot Parade #9 stamp set.

I die-cut and stamped the various layers of the tree and then assembled them together using foam tape.  I added this pretty little sentiment (from 'Tis the Season Sentiments) beside it using Charcoal Palette ink.  A scattering of snowflakes from In the Meadow added in Soft Stone ink help balance the little scene out.

On the background of the card I impressed the new Stitched Snowflakes die a few times.  I love the subtle detail that this adds.

For something a bit different, I adhered the snowy scene in the lower left corner of the Ocean Tides card front.

With this project I wanted to show how beautiful the new Stitched Snowflake die can look with no stitching added.  All the little holes really add a lot of detail and pizzaz to the card.  

The snowflake was die-cut from Pure Poppy cardstock and adhered in place with small bits of foam tape.  A white button tied with crochet thread was added to the center with glue dots.

To help ground the snowflake I added a strip of white cardstock, adding this sentiment from Rustic Wreath to the right side in True Black ink.

The background of the Classic Kraft card base was stamped with the new Background Basics: Christmas Joy set using fresh Snow ink.  All of the festive words incorporated into this text background just really help bring the holiday spirit!

The new Stitched Snowflake is just stunning when cut from felt.  Here I have made a little keepsake tag or ornament that is made so inexpensively, but looks like an expensive boutique item!

I started by die-cutting the snowflake from both Ocean Tides felt and Ocean Tides cardstock.  I layered the two on top of one another for stability and then stitched them together using the provided holes.  While making each stitch, I also added a small seed bead.

It is such a pretty effect and easy to execute since all of the holes are already placed for you.  A simple button was added to the center of the snowflake.  I adhered the final stitched snowflake to a scalloped circle of felt, cut with the Limitless Layers 2-1/2" Circle die.  I added a bit of silk ribbon for the snowflake to hang from.

For my last project today I used the versatile new Boutique Borders: Thinking of You set.  It all started with the background.  I stamped the ferns from Meadow Greens using a mixture of Winter Wisteria and Spring Rain inks.  I then watercolored over the top of them using a wash of the same ink refills.

The beautiful frame was die-cut from white cardstock and stamped with the coordinating image in Winter Wisteria.  The sentiment, also from the set, was added with Charcoal Palette.  A Spring Rain card base finishes this simple little card off.

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

My first project today keeps things pretty simple so that mass producing is an option.  I started by die-cutting the base of the Tag Sale #8 die from white & Spring Rain cardstock.  I cut the Spring Rain tag a second time using the layering die for Tag Sale #8.  I layered the two on top of each other using foam tape.

I die cut the smallest Fancy Flakes die from NEW! Lavender Moon felt.  I adhered it to the center of the tag, finished with a sequin in the center.  

The word "snow" was die-cut with Wonderful Words: Snow from Aqua Mist cardstock.  I stamped it with the striped block from Bitty Background Blocks II using Fresh Snow ink then brushed it with Perfect Pearls.  This was adhered to just the Spring Rain frame portion of the tag.

I finished the top of the tag with a strip of Lavender Moon felt tied with crochet thread.

The end result is a simple tag that will be well received by all of your recipients.

Now for something a bit more bold and bright!  To begin, I wanted to show how you can use the leftover from the Cover Plate: Center Stage die to create a unique background.

I popped out all the pieces after die-cutting Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse and Pure Poppy. Then I adhered them onto a narrow 4" white card base.  I varied the widths of separation for a nice modern feel.

I die-cut "snow" from Raspberry Fizz and then stamped it with the coordinating image using Pure Poppy.  I adhered this with a bit of foam tape over the end of the stripes.

"Let it" was added with True Black ink using the coordinating companion sentiments in Wonderful Words: Snow.

Perfect Pearls is a great companion for Wonderful Words: Snow because it can pick up all of the detail in the set really well. 

I stamped the sentiment onto Ocean Tides cardstock and brushed it with Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls, removing the excess with a Swiffer cloth.

For the background I stamped several stars from 2013 Holiday Tags onto the Claassic Kraft background using Scarlet Jewel, Ripe Avocado and Ocean Tides.  I also added a small snowflake from Instant Photo: Holidays using VersaMark and the Perfect Pearls again.  Everything was adhered to a Scarlet Jewel card base.

My next project keeps things simple and easily mass produceable once again.  I love how quick and easy tag images, like those in 2013 Holiday Tags, make it to create holiday cards.  The sentiment and image are already built in so you only have to stamp once.

I die-cut the Cover Plate: Center Stage from Classic Kraft cardstock and laid it over a piece of Classic Kraft stripes pattern pack.

I die-cut the Limitless Layers 2-1/4" Oval from Vintage Cream cardstock and stamped it with this tag image using Dark Chocolate.

I die-cut the holly and berries from Ripe Avocado and Pure Poppy.  After adhering them to the side, I added rhinestones to the die-cut berries.

A strip of Pure Poppy cardstock finishes off the project and adds balance.

This over-sized tag uses my favorite image from 2013 Holiday Tags, the pinecone tag!  It is SO gorgeous and so detailed, you don't need to do much else to it!   I started with the pull out from the Instant Photo Pull Out die collection.  I die-cut it from Ocean Tides cardstock and used it as the base for my extra large tag.  I impressed it with the Cover Plate: Center Stage for some extra texture.

I die-cut this decorative oval using the Limitless Layers 2-1/4" Oval dies.  Then added the pinecone tag image in Ripe Avocado.

I added three strips of white crochet thread under the oval, then added a Pure Popp[y button to the center string just under the oval.

The top was finished with some Pure Poppy stitched ribbon.

I have one last super simple holiday card to share with you today.  

I stamped another of the 2013 Holiday Tags images directly onto this white card front.  I inked the image with Autumn Rose and then rolled the edges in Scarlet Jewel.  

Next, I die-cut the scalloped oval from Limitless Layers 2-1/4" Ovals from Ripe Avocado cardstock, then cut out the middle with the plain oval which created a frame.  I added small dots of Liquid Pearls in each scallop.

Here are the last of the peeks of what's to come this month!

Melissa Bickford has a holiday treat for you this month with her latest addition to her Polka Dot Parade collection.  You are going to love this multi-step tree and all of the colors you can incorporate into it!  The coordinating die makes it even more versatile when it comes to design!
