Here is the technique video that we shared on Stamp-a-faire day that shows you all the ins and outs of using this new stamp set. You'll see how you can use mixes made with everyday kitchen ingredients and clear embossing powder to create unique scratch & sniff cards.
Here are some close-ups of the card you saw me create in the video.
This card has such a great simple design, you could apply it to any of the images from the Scent-imentals set really.
I stamped the cherries with Pure Poppy followed by the leaves in Simply Chartreuse. I stamped over the cherries a second time in VersaMark and embossed them with my cherry scented embossing powder. The important thing to remember whenever you are creating scented embossing powders is to mix two parts embossing powder to one part scented powder.
The sentiment was added to a strip of Classic Kraft cardstock and then I added some baker's twine at the top and bottom of it as trim. Everything was adhered to a a Pure Poppy card base.
And here are some additional projects I created using the new Scent-imentals set.
I created a little banner from vintage book print. The pumpkin was die-cut from white cardstock and stamped with the coordinating images in Canyon Clay and Ripe Avocado. I heat embossed over the bottom portion using my own custom pumpkin spice embossing powder. I love how you can see the little bits of pumpkin spice on the pumpkin! I added the little scratch & sniff arrow so the recipient will know what to do to enjoy the scent.
I stamped a strip of Canyon Clay cardstock with the new Background Basics: Stitching using Canyon Clay ink. The sentiment was added using Dark Chocolate.
The Classic Kraft card base was accented with Polka Dot Basics II and Vintage Cream ink.
Next up, a holiday card using the new Scent-imentals set. To begin, I die-cut the new Stained Glass frame from Pure Poppy cardstock and the interior of the frame from Vintage Cream. I stamped the interior portion with A Little Argyle using Simply Chartreuse ink.
I die-cut the gingerbread man from Classic Kraft cardstock and stamped the coordinating gingerbread man image in Dark Chocolate. I followed up with heat embossing using a mixture of clear embossing powder and ginger.
Under the frame I added some accents creates with Bells & Boughs using Simply Chartreuse ink. A few Pure Poppy buttons were added with Rustic Jute Button Twine to help add visual balance.
the sentiment was added to the bottom with Dark Chocolate ink.
Everything was adhered to a Pure Poppy card base.
Nearly everyone loves coffee and we think this sweet coffee cup image will be one of the most popular from this set!
I die-cut it from Vintage Cream cardstock and then stamped it with the coordinating image in Berry Sorbet. I added the heart using Scarlet Jewel. The oval representing the coffee was first added with Dark Chocolate ink and followed up with clear embossing powder and fresh ground coffee.
I used Autumn Pattern Pieces for the background. Love this color combo of Scarlet Jewel, Berry Sorbet and Melon Berry.
The sentiment finishes the card, added with Dark Chocolate. The finishing touch is adhering everything to a Dark Chocolate card base.
Now a little something created with Kid Kudos. I love this set because it contains sentiments that I really say to my kids on a daily basis. The perfect thing to provide a little pick-me-up or encouragement. I started by stamping my background created with Modern Basics and White Filigree Embossing Powder onto a Soft Stone card front.
I die-cut the tree from Stamper's Select White cardstock. The top is stamped in Summer Sunrise, and the trunk with Charcoal Palette. The treehouse itself is added with Canyon Clay.
I stamped the solid line from Kid Kudos in Charcoal Palette, just underneath the background strips. I then added a strip of Summer Sunrise underneath that and added these sentiments from Kid Kudos.
Everything was attached to a Canyon Clay card base.
This next card is a little something I designed for Hannah. The font choices for this set are perfect because they can be used for girls and boys.
Starting at the top, I started adding lines and sentiments in various colors until I completed the full sentiment. I used Spring Rain, Winter Wisteria, Hawaiian Shores and Royal Velvet.
I die-cut an arrow using Get to the Point dies and Winter Wisteria cardstock. I covered it with Prisma Glitter.
Note that I trimmed a strip off of the edge of the main card front and spaced it out a bit from the original portion. An easy little detail you could try. Everything is adhered to a Royal Velvet card base.
I love this next card and I'm looking forward to giving it to our youngest son, Ethan. I just know he will love it! I started by stamping the Blueberry Sky background with constellations from Star Gazer and Enchanted Evening ink. I also die-cut the bottom portion of the Cover Plate: Snow Drifts die from Simply Chartreuse cardstock and used as my "hill".
I die-cut the tree from white cardstock and added the coordinating stamps in Simply Chartreuse, Dark Chocolate and Pure Poppy.
The moon was stamped with Orange Zest onto Summer Sunrise cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
I die-cut the little bicycle from white cardstock and added the bike with True Black ink. I added it to the moon, in an E.T. sort of way! The small black arrow from Destination was the perfect touch to connect the bike and the tree.
Everything was adhered to a Smokey Shadow card base.
Next, a little bookmark and gift I put together to surprise Hannah!
I was dying to try out the new Double Bow dies with felt, so here were my results. I used Raspberry Fizz felt to cut the main portion. Please note that the main die does not quite fit on the width of our felt rolls. Just a small portion of the tabs you fold over does not fit. Once everything is assembled, you can't even tell. And since you use a glue gun, it doesn't effect how you assemble it anyway.
I assembled the bow in the same manner I did with paper except this time using a hot glue gun for my adhesive. I also die-cut a flower from Simply Chartreuse felt and glued it to the center of the bow. An Orange Zest button finishes it off.
I created a bookmark to match as well. I began by die-cutting the Bookmark die from white cardstock.
I added this background by using Bitty Background Blocks and Raspberry Fizz ink. I also added a few Orange Zest accents using the line image from Kid Kudos. The sentiments were added with Simply Chartreuse and True Black inks.
I die-cut the tree from white cardstock. The tree top stamped with Simply Chartreuse and the trunk with Orange Zest. The little owl from Tiny Treats: Valentine was stamped onto Classic Kraft with True Black ink. I then carefully cut him out with scissors. I also added the heart with Raspberry Fizz cardstock. The top of the bookmark is tied with Simply Chartreuse Satin Ribbon.
Another little something for the little ones, this time a cute little lunchbox note made with Polka Dot Parade #8. The thing I like best about this set is that you can get two completely different looks by choosing to add the pumpkin face or not. Here, I stamped the pumpkin onto Summer Sunrise cardstock with Orange Zest ink, the face added with True Black. I die-cut a Lunchbox Note from Vintage Cream cardstock and lined it with summer Sunrise Polka Dot paper.
I also added strips of the paper to the outside to help ground the pumpkin. The sentiment was added at the to with True Black ink.
For the inside of the note, I added another one of my favorite sentiments from Kid Kudos.
Now you can see how I achieved a completely different look with the same set to create this autumn card.
I stamped the pumpkin with Canyon Clay and the stem and leaf using Ripe Avocado. The Bitty Background Block II was stamped with Fine Linen. Sentiment is from Autumn Hills.
I created the background on the Classic Kraft card using Stitches & Swirls with Dark Chocolate ink. I followed up with a T1 Copic marker to add shading.
