There is nothing quite like the thrill of planting a vegetable garden! Planting something so seemingly insignificant and watching it grow and flourish, nurturing it with water and tender loving care and then one day having it grow into something you can actually feed your family with -- it's truly an amazing feeling! And now, you can add a touch of that feeling to your hand-crafted cards and other projects!
The detail in this new veggie-themed set will really come to life once you start stamping with it! Each of these two step vegetable images (and sometimes three step) will coordinate with the seed packet frames found in both Garden Variety and Garden Variety II. The images are also strong enough to stand on their own. Great for incorporating into food gifts, canning and more.
The Details:
- Vegetable Garden will be available for purchase on June 15th.
- It will retail for $24.
- Vegetable Garden contains a total of 27 images. The assembled artichoke measures 1" wide and 2" tall. The assembled peas measure 1-3/8" wide and 2" tall. Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first project I wanted to create a project that really showed all of the amazing colors of some of the vegetables. This window trio card ended up being the perfect thing!
I punched the three windows from Simply Chartreuse cardstock using a 1-3/8" circle punch. I then added this pretty sentiment from Table Service at the bottom using True Black ink.
I stamped Clear Cardstock with the chicken wire from Background Basics: Farm & Barn using Fresh Snow ink, giving it a quick heat set. You could also use white Staz-on for this job too. The stamped Clear Cardstock was added behind the windows with Scor-tape.
I die-cut the vegetables from white cardstock and then stamped them with their coordinating images. The radish was done with Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado. The peas were done with Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado. And finally, the carrot was done with Orange Zest, Terracotta Tile and New Leaf. I just love how realistic these look once you're done stamping! They literally just come to life as you build up the layers! All of this was adhered to a Spring Moss card base.
My next project uses one of my favorite images from the new Vegetable Garden set, the artichoke.
I die-cut the Seed Packet Frame from Winter Wisteria cardstock then stamped it with the coordinating frame image from Garden Variety using Royal Velvet. I added the "Artichoke" title (from Vegetable Garden) and a few other accents from Garden Variety with VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with White Filigree Embossing Powder. The artichoke was stamped onto the white card base using Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado (stamped off once).
Before I adhered the frame in place, I added these labels from Vegetable Garden using Royal Velvet ink once again.
I love the simplicity of this design and look forward to swapping it out with different vegetables and color schemes in the future.
tI thought it would be fun to pair up the gorgeous tomato image with the can of soup from the previously released Comfort Food set.
I used a 5/8" circle punch to notch the corners of this small block of Soft Stone cardstock. I stamped the can in Charcoal Palette ink and brushed a bit more of that color around the edges to soften things up. I added the "feel better" sentiment at an angle in True Black. The tiny heart was stamped onto scrap paper in Pure Poppy, cut out and added to the can for a pop of color.
For the background, I stamped the tomatoes repeatedly all over the Rustic Cream card front using Pure Poppy, New Leaf and Pinefeather. I also added the "Garden Fresh" label in Charcoal Palette to help break everything up. To complete, I impressed the background with the Woodgrain Impression Plate.
A little True Black Gingham Ribbon and a True Black card base finish this project off.
I just knew when I designed this carrot that it could have some cute applications for Easter projects, especially something with the Easter bunny.
I opted to pait it up with the previously released Take Three: Spring set. I stamped the bunny block in Melon Berry and then added the carrot base at an angle using Summer Sunrise. The top of the carrot was done in Limeade Ice. I added the "happy easter" sentiment from Scrambled Eggs in the corner with True Black ink. I used a mini glue dot to adhere a small white pompom to represent the bunny tail.
I cut a strip of Limeade Ice bitty dot paper and then die-cut it with the Rickrack Border die. I used the leftovers and adhered the top and bottom sections with small bits of foam tape.
The Classic Kraft card base was swiped with a bit of Fresh Snow ink for softness.
I knew when I was putting together my sketches for this release that I wanted to pull out an old favorite, Friendship Jar. I die-cut the jar from white cardstock and then stamped it with the coordinating jar image using True Black ink. The distressed polka-dot overlay for the jar was added with Aqua Mist. I stamped the peas directly over the Aqua Mist using New Leaf and Pinefeather (stamped off once). I also added a bit of Baker's Twine around the top, tied off with a bow.
The Hawaiian Shores strip was stamped with this fitting sentiment from Signature Sentiments II using VersaMark ink and heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder. The Aqua Mist strip was accented with the word "Baby" repeated along it's length using Stitched Alphabet and New Leaf ink.
The background was created with New Leaf cardstock stamped with Background Basics: Super Stripes using New Leaf ink. Everything was adhered to a white card base.
Many of the veggies in Vegetable Garden are pretty enough to create a simple stationery set with as well. Here I focused on the gorgeous three-step asparagus.
I stamped the asparagus first, using Simply Chartreuse for the bottom image and Ripe Avocado for the top. The string was added last in Winter Wisteria. I die-cut a mask from a post-it note and adhered it over the asparagus. I added the frame from Label Basics using Winter Wisteria ink.
"From the desk of" from Simply Stationery fit perfectly under the asparagus. I also added my name underneath that using the new Antique Alphabet and Charcoal Palette ink. To help coordinate the whole stationery set and bring everything together, I also stamped the lower corners of the envelopes with the asparagus image.
For my last project today I wanted to break in the new Garden Variety II dies along with the gorgeous previously released stamp set.
I die-cut the leaves and pot from white cardstock. The pot was stamped in Canyon Clay and the leaves in Simply Chartreuse. I added the flowers in Berry Sorbet, stamping each one a couple times without re-inking to get a softness to it. The little label on the pot was also die-cut and I stamped it with the coordinating image using Aqua Mist.
The Honey Bees image was die-cut from white cardstock as well and stamped in Ocean Tides. I pierced a twirly path behind the little bee using my paper piercer and stiched along the holes using crochet thread.
In the background I added the seed packet frame from Garden Variety II in Fresh Snow. This Classic Kraft card front was then adhered to an Aqua Mist card base. Two thin strips of Ocean Tides cardstock were added at the top and bottom to help add balance.
