Irresistibly Ikat is a set that came about after Maile Belles began falling in love with ikat patterns. Ikat is currently popping up in home decor textiles and fabrics of the fashion world. We couldn't be more happy to now bring it to you in stamp form. You're going to love stamping your own designs in your most favorite color combos. Two repeating patterns are include in this set, making it easy to quickly cover a lot of ground when creating a hand stamped background. Also included are two large ikat images, these are perfect for making a statement. Either by stamping a stunning focal point, or if you choose, you could stamp them repeatedly to create yet another unique background. As for the sentiments, the font combo is perfectly irresistible.

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first project today I have a card that really shows off the new Irresistibly Ikat set. One of the things I LOVE about the way Maile designed the elements in this set is the "texture" they add.
Once your done stamping your paper, it is almost as if you have transformed it into a piece of fabric! I chose to go a simple route and use just one element along with a single color, really emphasizing the detail in the pattern building images. I used Summer Sunrise ink for this. I have aways loved the way Summer Sunrise looks on Vintage Cream cardstock, such a fresh trendy feel.
I die-cut the new Wonderful Words: Hello die from one of our new self-adhesive cork sheets. I simply peeled the wax paper backing off and adhered it to my card front. To follow-up, I trimmed a strip of Aqua Mist cardstock and notched the end with scissors. I stamped the "From the Heart" companion sentiment from Wonderful Words: Hello in Hawaiian Shores onto the strip.
I added a small heart die-cut from Berry Sorbet cardstock. The entire piece was mounted onto a Classic Kraft card base.
My next project is one of my favorites...EVER! It all started with an image from Irresistibly Ikat that features four dots in a row.
I stamped the row of dots vertically, using a rainbow of colors and staggering each impression slightly. Colors used were Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse and Hawaiian Shores. I also used a small single dot to add some additional random accents. Since I used our dye ink for this, I was able to go back in with a damp watercolor brush and soften the look of each dot.
I die-cut the Wonderful Words: Hello die from white cardstock and stamped it with the coordinating image in True Black ink. This was adhered on top of the rainbow pattern with bits of foam tape.
I added "There" from Wonderful Words: Hello stamp set in True Black ink to the right of the focal point. The finished block as adhered to a Pure Poppy card base.
This next project is clean & simple, just the way I like it!
I stamped this chevron-style arrow repeatedly in a row using a fun new color scheme that I found inspiration for on Pinterest (you can check out my Color Me Happy board on Pinterest HERE). Limeade Ice, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Melon Berry and Sweet Blush. I used a paper piercer to add holes down the center of the row as well as a few extras at the top and bottom to form an arrow. I stitched along the holes with white floss. I love how this accent is subtle, but really adds to much.
The sentiment, also from Irresistibly Ikat, was added with Charcoal Palette ink.
All of this was adhered to a Melon Berry card base.
I wanted to go for something bold and bright for my next project and decided to pair up Blueberry Sky and New Leaf.
A little detail I wanted to point out here on the background. If you compare this background to the one stamped in Summer Sunrise at the top of this post, you will see the shadow effect I created here and how it achieves a more authentic ikat look. All I did was stamp each image twice without re-inking, shifting slightly upwards for the second impression. I just an't stop singing my praises for this set! One of the most inspiring sets I've ever used!
For the sentiment strip, I stamped "Thanks" using the new Headline Alphabet, stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Filigree White Embossing Powder. I also added the small "Hey There" sentiment from Irresistibly Ikat beside the bolder word.
I added a few stamped chevron arrows beside the sentiment and trimmed the New Leaf strip with a notch, following along with the lines of the arrows.
All of this is mounted onto a Blueberry Sky card base.
Next, I have a fun monogrammed card that can be customized for any recipient, or even a stack for yourself!
It all begins with Rustic Cream cardstock which was stamped with two different patterns from Irresistibly Ikat in rows. I used Simply Chartreuse, Royal Velvet, Raspberry Fizz and Lavender Moon.
I then die-cut Tag Sale #5 from Raspberry Fizz cardstock and trimmed the top off. I added stripes using Background Basics: Super Stripes and VersaMark ink. I heat embossed the monogram using Zing! Embossing Powder in Leaf. The center letter is from the new Headline Alphabet and the two smaler letters are from the previously released Fresh Alphabet.
All of this is mounted onto a Smokey Shadow card base.
I have one last card for you today, this one focusing on using the new Headline Alphabet stamps with the coordinating dies. I started with a block of Soft Stone cardstock and stamped it with Dot Spot in VersaMark ink, followed by some heat embossing using White Filigree Embossing Powder.
I die-cut the letters from white cardstock and stamped them with a rainbow of colors: Aqua Mist. Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise and Berry Sorbet. The letters were adhered with small bits of foam tape. The small star used at the bottom of the exclamation point is from the Super Stars Border die. I colored it with a Gold Spica Pen to add just a touch of sparkle to my project.
I hope you have enjoyed all the creations that I have shared with you today! Are you falling for ikat like we are? Has another new series made it's way onto your wish list? We would love to hear your initial thoughts on everything we introduced!
