Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
The new Heart-2-Heart set is so adorable this month, I couldn't help but highlight a few projects I made with it first.
I created a colorful sentiment block using elements from Heart-2-Heart #11. I stamped the bold words three times using Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening & New Leaf. I then went back in and added the hearts in the same colors, but mixed them up a bit. I added the script companion sentiment at the bottom in True Black ink.
To go along with the sentiment, I thought I would pull out an old favorite, Up, Up & Away. I stamped the clouds and balloons onto the Blueberry Sky card base using Fresh Snow ink. I then went back and swiped a bit of the ink pad directly along the bottom edge of the card to create a softer transition.
I love these two sets paired up together and will definitely be making more!
When you think of love & Valentine's Day, the color red and lots of glitter go hand in hand. I brought these elements together for my next project.
I used the two smallest Mat Stack 6 dies to build my focal point. The middle is cur from Vintage Cream and the mat from Classic Kraft. I just adore this new shape!
For the focal point, I stamped the Vintage Cream layer with Background Basics: Newsprint using Fine Linen ink. I then added the word love in Pure Poppy, followed by a second impression with my Glue Pad and a few sprinkles of red glitter. I die-cut the heart and repeated the same process, adhering it into place with a bit of foam tape for dimension.
For the background, I placed all three of the hearts in this set onto a single block. I then stamped them repeatedly to in VersaMark directly onto my Pure Poppy card front. Vintage Cream ink and Sew Simple Borders were used around the outside edge as a finishing detail.
Everything was adhered to a Classic Kraft card base.
Now for a a few projects using Quilled Elegance. I love how simple it is to get multi-color results with this new set and the style of it is just so unique and so inspiring to work with.
I started by stamping the main border image in Canyon Clay ink. I then added color to the various patterned areas using the coordinating solid "fill-in" stamps, using Summer Sunrise & Harvest Gold inks. I added just a bit of shimmer with a Stardust GellyRoll pen. The sentiment (from a new set being introduced later on this week) was stamped onto Canyon Clay cardstock with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder. I punched it out with a 1-1/8" circle punch.
I created my own paper "ribbon" strip using Harvest Gold and Summer Sunrise cardstock. A 1/2" strip fits perfectly between the lines that are incorporated into this border image.
To finish, the card front was adhered to a Canyon Clay card base.
One thing I discovered about this new set was how much fun it can be to pair it up with Copics!
I stamped this border with True Black ink and a second time with a VersaMark pad and heat embossed with Clear Filigree Embossing Powder. (Note: you don't want to do this with black embossing powder because it can discolor the tips of your Copics). I then used various Copic Markers to color in different aspects of the open areas. Once completed, a few rhinestones were used as accents.
The sentiment was added just above the line from Think Big Favorites #4.
I rounded the corners of the focal point and adhered it in place onto a Simply Chartreuse card base.
For my next project I thought I would show you how you can create softer, vintage looks with this gorgeous set.
I used the largest Mat Stack 6 die to die-cut Vintage Cream cardstock and added a bit of Tea Dye Duo ink around the edges. The sentiment (from We Go Together) was added in Dark Chocolate ink to the center.
I stamped quilled flowers onto each end of the focal point in Classic Kraft ink. I then went back in and added color with the various solid fill-in stamps using Melon Berry & Spring Moss inks. I love the soft elegant feel I was able to achieve. To finish the card, I added a Dark Chocolate button tied with twine to each end. Melon Berry striped paper and Spring Moss satin ribbon are the finishing touches to the Classic Kraft card base.
I got inspired to create this card after a recent shopping trip to World Market and a few colorful scarves I saw that were made in India. I loved all of the rich, bold colors and the touches of gold and thought it was a great look that could easily be achieved with this new set.
I stamped this border strip on Royal Velvet cardstock and heat embossed it with Gold Filigree Embossing Powder. I notched the end of the strip to make it look a bit like ribbon.
The sentiment (from Script Sentiments) was embossed as well onto a piece of Simply Chartreuse cardstock that was die-cut with the Christmas Label die. A few small accents were added to either end of the sentiment from Mat Stack 1 Collection along with a few purple rhinestones.
The background of the card was impressed with the Moroccan Motifs impression plate to help reinforce the theme.
I have one last quick & easy project for you using Quilled Elegance.
I stamped this border image repeatedly, one impression under another, using Summer Sunrise, Melon Berry & Raspberry Fizz inks. I then went back in with the dotted line stamp from Faux Ribbon and did the same thing above each center line of the borders. I just LOVE the way these look when layered like this.
To finish the project, I added one of the sentiments from Quilled Elegance in True Black ink at the top of the card and highlighted the sentiment with a few rhinestones. This makes a gorgeous little 4-1/4" square card.
