Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
I am so excited to show you what beautiful results you can get with the new Man & Wife dies, so let's start with a little something that uses those!
The sentiment I selected for this card comes from the new Sending My Love sentiment set. I stamped it directly onto my Aqua Mist card base with True Black ink. I then stamped it a second time onto Vintage Cream cardstock and punched out the "with you" using a 1/2" circle punch.
For the happy couple, I started by die cutting the main bodies from Classic Kraft. The dress and man's shirt were die-cut from old book print. The bouquet along with the man's accessories were die-cut from Aqua Mist cardstock. I layered all of these pieces together using a fine tip 2-way glue pen. A few little tips. The largest scalloped shape included with the bouquet die is intended to be used as the bouquet "base", something to adhere all the tiny flowers to. The man's silhouette includes a small slit that can be used to insert his "pocket square" for an authentic look. The small details for these dies are tiny, however they add so much and create a stunning completed paper piecing!!!
To help complete my visual triangle, I added a strip of black cardstock to the outer edge of the card, cut with the Small Scalloped Border die.
I love how this turned out and can hardly wait to give it to David for Valentine's Day this year.
I have a second project using the Man & Wife dies, this time using just the female portion! I started by stamping the large Lace Bouquet background stamp onto the edge of my Winter Wisteria card front.
This lovely sentiment from the new Just a Kiss set was stamped with VersaMark onto the Winter Wisteria cardstock and heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
I die cut the bride-to-be from Soft Stone cardstock and her dress from white. The soft contrast of the two is just the perfect combination. You will notice that I added a tiny rhinestone to her left hand to represent her new engagement ring.
Everything was adhered to a simple white card base.
Now for something a bit more vintage pairing up the new Framed Out #11 and more from Sending My Love.
I stamped the large heart frame in Berry Sorbet followed by the dotted center frame in Melon Berry. The sentiment (from Sending My Love) was added to the center with True Black ink. Lines of stitching were added at the top and bottom of the Vintage Cream block using Sew Simple Borders and Fine Linen ink. I also swiped the edges with a bit of Tea Dye Duo.
I added a strip of patterned paper from Beautiful Beads Paper Pad (orange & pink mix) along with some pretty Berry Sorbet Twill. A big Berry Sorbet button is stitched into place to finish it off.
For the background, I debossed the Parisian Doily die twice onto a block of Melon Berry cardstock using the same sandwich as you would for an impression plate. To help highlight this debossing, I swiped the edges of the cardstock with Fresh Snow ink.
A Classic Kraft card base finishes everything off.
Next, something a bit more bright and modern. I stamped a background block using Polka Dot Basics II and Fresh Snow ink. I then die-cut some white cardstock with the Spiral Notebook Page die and added lines to it using Soft Stone ink and a Journaling Lines stamp.
I die-cut this fabulous new Framed Out #11 heart shape from Simply Chartreuse striped paper and adhered it to the notebook page. I then stamped the dotted heart frame within it using True Black ink.
Next, I die-cut the letters to spell out "LOVE" using the Block Alphabet Upper die from Summer Sunrise cardstock. They were adhered in place with bits of foam tape for dimension.
I added a strip of Simply Chartreuse cardstock to the bottom of my card, stamped with the "i love you" sentiment from Sending My Love in True Black.
Three stitched x's in the lower corner complete the visual "triangle" of black accents on the cover.
The new Sending My Love sentiments don't just have to be used between man & wife. They can be applied to so many other relationships too. Here is a special card I made for Owen to give David by special request, since they have been doing a lot of special things together lately.
I started with this recent photo of the two of them together at a football game. I added die-cut letters using the Modern Alphabet dies and Ocean Tides striped paper. The letters were adhered with small bits of foam tape.
The sentiment was stamped underneath the photo onto Smokey Shadow cardstock using VersaMark and heat embossed with Black Filigree Embossing Powder.
This simple card front was mounted onto a Simply Chartreuse card base. This would work well for Father's Day too. Not to mention the celebration of any special relationship in your life.
I have one last project to share with you today, this one using more of the new Framed Out #11 die.
I started by die-cutting hearts from Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile,, Hawaiian Shores, Dark Chocolate and Summer Sunrise cardstocks. I then stamped the frames wit the coordinating images from the framed Out #11 stamp set. I adhered the frames first in a row across the white card front. I then added the center hearts using foam tape for dimension. Buttons finish of the centers.
This special sentiment from Sending My Love was added in just the right spot using Dark Chocolate ink. Adhering the card front to a Dark Chocolate card base finishes the piece beautifully.
