Today I have a few projects to share with you using this fantastic new set! One of the best things about this new set is that is coordinates with the previously released Notched Flower dies. The stamps bring these incredible floral shapes to a whole new level and makes them even more fun to use than before!
My first project shows how you can create a dimensional flower accent for your projects with a combination of the Notched Flower dies and the new Funky Florals stamp set!
I die-cut the large & medium flowers from Berry Sorbet cardstock and stamped them with the coordinating images using Berry Sorbet ink. For the center on the smallest flower, I stamped the dotted center and solid center on top of one another using a Glue Pad and sprinkled on some blue glitter. I used small scissors to cut slits at each of the notches, carrying the slit almost to the center of the flowers. I bent each flower petal upwards slightly, cupping the flowers upward. I then adhered them together, finishing the center with a clear rhinestone.
I used the previously released Celebrations stamp set to add sentiments to a strip of white cardstock, using Enchanted Evening & Berry Sorbet inks. The leaves for the flower were die-cut using the Sending You dies from New Leaf cardstock and stamped with the coordinating images from the Sending You stamp set in New Leaf ink.
For the background of the card, I stamped Background Basics: Super Stripes on the diagonal onto Enchanted Evening cardstock using Enchanted Evening ink. Everything was mounted onto a Classic Kraft card base. Can't you just see making these flowers in every color of the rainbow?!?!? Love it!
Now for something with a bit more of a soft vintage feel. I decided to stamp directly onto my card front and forego the dies this time. I trimmed the bottom edge of the Vintage Cream layer with the Edgers #1 die.
I used the rock-n-roll technique when stamping my flowers from Funky Florals, inking the whole flower with Autumn Rose and then rolling the edges in Scarlet Jewel. I stamped a second time, just slightly off center for each bloom, without re-inking to create a shadow effect. The leaves (from Turning a New Leaf) were added with Ripe Avocado ink, and they were double-stamped too. I used the dotted centers from Embroidered Blooms with Dark Chocolate inks to accent the centers of the flowers. I also added a few small accent flowers from Embroidered Blooms as well.
The sentiment (from Embroidered Blooms) was added in Dark Chocolate ink to the side.
The focal point was adhered to a Classic Kraft card base, which has been swiped with a bit of Vintage cream ink around the edges.
Now for something really bright & bold! I die-cut the Fabulous Frames shape from Summer Sunrise cardstock and stamped it with the coordinating polka-dotted frame from the Fabulous Frames stamp set using Orange Zest ink.
I die-cut the Notched Flowers from Hibiscus Burst, Aqua Mist & Harvest Gold cardstock. They were then stamped with the new coordinating images from Notched Flowers using Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores and Summer Sunrise inks. The dotted centers of the flowers were added in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
I finished the centers of the flowers with buttons in their respective colors.
This fun sentiment (from Funky Florals) was heat embossed at the bottom of the frame using White Filigree Embossing Powder once again.
Definitely a card to brighten someone's day!
I've had a bit of a fixation on black lately and this card totally embraces that! I started by stamping the background with Polka Dot Basics II onto Smokey Shadow cardstock using True Black ink.
I die-cut the Notched Flowers from Pure Poppy cardstock and stamped the Funky Florals images in VersaMark. As a fun little twist, I stamped the dotted flower centers twice in True Black ink, turning the stamp slightly for the second impression. This creates a whole different look! Rhinestones were added to the flower centers as a finishing touch.
I die-cut "grateful" from the Counting My Blessings die collection from True Black cardstock. I then swiped a touch of Vintage Cream ink onto my Linen & Canvas impression plate and impressed the word with it. The word was adhered over the flowers with small bits of foam tape.
The leaves were simply hand-cut from old book print. I added a stitching detail down the center of each leaf with Sew Simple Borders using True Black ink.
For my next project, I decided to try my hand at a single layer using Funky Flowers. I pulled out an old favorite, Asian Fusion, to pair up with this new freebie.
I stamped the largest flower from Funky Florals in Ocean Tides and the flower center with Canyon Clay. I added a solid flower from Asian Fusion to accent the middle of the large flower, using Dark Chocolate ink. I die-cut a mask for the flower and added the leaves from Leaf Prints using Simply Chartreuse ink. The branches from Asian Fusion were also added using Canyon Clay ink. I added a few accent dots using a brown pen.
The sentiment is from Think Big Favorites #7, which features mega sized version of the original sentiments in Asian Fusion. The sentiment was added in Dark Chocolate ink.
I used a craft knife to cut around each of the leaves slightly so that I could curl the tips up for dimension. The edge of the focal point was swiped with Tea Dye Duo ink and then the whole piece was mounted onto an Ocean Tides card base.
I have one last card to share with you today! Something soft & pretty, perfect for celebrating a wedding! I started with a Soft Stone card front and stamped it with the leaves found in Embroidered Blooms using Charcoal Palette ink.
I die-cut the Notched Flowers from white cardstock and stamped them with the coordinating images from Funky Florals using Lavender Moon & Sweet Blush inks. The dotted centers were added with Charcoal Palette ink as well. Various sizes of rhinestones were added over the dots to add lots of sparkle and shine.
The sentiment as well as a few strategically placed butterflies from Beautiful Butterflies, were stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
Everything was arranged onto a Smokey Shadow card base.
I hope that you enjoyed the inspiration I shared with you today using this new, limited edition set. As you can see, Funky Florals is an amazingly versatile set that can be paired up with so many different elements from previously released sets!
We would LOVE to hear what you think of this new set and the fact that you will be getting it for FREE with a qualifying purchase! What previously released sets do you think you would pair up with these gorgeous blooms? What color combination do you think you might want to try with them?
The Design Team will be sharing additional creations made with Funky Florals a bit later in the week, so we will be bringing you even more inspiration and ideas that you can use! Thanks for stopping by!
