GOOD MORNING CAMPERS!!!!!!! Welcome, everyone to the official kick-off of Stamp-a-faire 2012! I know some of you are waking up at 4am on the west coast this morning to join us! Now that's what I call dedication!
Can you believe that the big day is finally here? All of us have been busy behind the scenes making preparations for months and we are so excited to finally start showcasing everything we have been working on! Today promises to be an amazing learning opportunity for everyone, no matter their skill level! Not to mention the fun you will have rubbing elbows with other stampers from around the world!
To kick things off this morning, we have a Morning Make-n-Take to get your creative juices flowing. All of the designing & measuring are done for you with this simple card design. A great way to warm-up for all of the stamping that lies ahead! So put on some of your favorite stamping tunes (something peppy to get you moving, you know?), grab your cup of coffee AND LET'S GET STARTED!!!
Here are all of your cutting instructions and supply list...

Now, don't worry if you don't have the Stamp-a-faire exclusive set, Natural Beauties on hand. You are more than welcome to substitute it for a floral set that is already in your collection. This is just supposed to be a fun little warm-up exercise, no pressure, no rules!
Here is a video with the basic instructions for creating your card...
I've also prepared some photos and written instructions, just in the off chance you aren't quite awake enough to watch the short video!
The first thing you want to start with is your white background block, measuring 3-3/4" x 5". If desired, you can round the corners with a corner rounder punch. To build a background, you always want to start with your largest images first.
I started by stamping the large solid part of the flowers in Hibiscus Burst ink. I then added the second detail layer to each bloom with Raspberry Fizz. I also added the medium teardrop loop around the opening of the center in Raspberry Fizz.
The centers of the flowers are stamped with the solid sunburst in Orange Zest, followed by the small dotted center in Terracotta Tile. Finally the leaves were fit in between the flowers in Simply Chartreuse. The tiny daisies filled in the blanks with Orange Zest.
For the sentiment strip, I scored along the top and bottom edge of the vellum strip using my Scor-Buddy, about an 1/8" away from the edge. I flipped the vellum strip over so that the score lines were raised embossed lines. The sentiment was added with a permanent black ink to avoid smudging (I used Noir Black Palette ink). I added strips of 1/8" Scor-tape on the back of the vellum, right under the embossed lines (this makes the Scor-tape practically invisible from the front). Mount everything to your Raspberry Fizz card base and you are good to go!!!!
We hope you enjoy this little "warm-up creative exercise" and have fun with the process!
Now, we want to give you another opportunity to share links to photos, videos or blog posts of you arriving at your destination, how your day is starting, your set-up, the group of people you may have getting together or anything else regarding the kick-off of Stamp-a-faire day! Don't forget, you can also just check-in with a comment, stating your name and where you are joining us from! Let us know if you are getting together with anyone or if you are going it solo! And what challenge are you looking forward to most today?
Two of the participants who post here today (via the InLinkz list or posting a comment) will be selected to receive a $25 PTI gift certificate (one comment and one InLinkz list participant) and will be announced on our Monday night Stamp-a-faire winners post. You have until 10pm EST, tonight (Saturday, July 21st) to add your link here or add your comment. We look forward to seeing what you share here as well as having you back here in just a bit for the next challenge! We're also available in the forums for a chat if you need company while you're stamping!
