It can be extremely rewarding to use your paper supplies to create something other than a card. For the next challenge, I wanted to show you how you can use just a few basic supplies to create beautiful, customized bracelets from paper.
Your challenge is to create a bracelet with handmade paper beads. Customers that are meeting in groups are encouraged to initial the beads they make and trade them with one another to create a "friendship" bracelet.
Here is a basic list of supplies you need to complete this project:

If you do not have the Beautiful Beads die or the Beautiful Beads papers, you can still recreate this look. Just cut elongated triangles from origami weight paper or anything lightweight. This could be pages torn from a magazine, old maps, wrapping paper or anything else you can dream up! The triangles should be about 3/4" on the widest end and about 5-1/2" long.
Here's a look at the tutorial I prepared for you to showcase this handmade paper bead technique. I apologize in advance that's it's a tad bit difficult to see the actual beading process in the video! Beads are so tiny and it was difficult to capture that portion on video. But I think you will get the basic steps and be able to execute your project! Enjoy!
As you can see, the beads are super easy to make, especially with the skewer! It is also important to note, there are a million and one ways that you could make a bracelet. You could change up the clasps. You could use elastic twine and forego the clasp all together. You can very the shapes, sizes, colors of the beads used between the paper beads. Literally, the sky's the limit! You can make it as easy or as complex as you wish!
Here are some still shots of the finished bracelet.
We hope you can appreciate just how easy this is and enjoy the process of creating jewelry with your paper crafting supplies! Talk about an inexpensive AND impressive gift! Perfect for the upcoming holidays!
