It is with a bright and sunny smile on our face, that we introduce today's featured products to you! Inspired by that glorious sun and all of the sun ray-inspired design elements that are popping up everywhere you turn, today's new releases are sure to bring a bit of sunshine to your day!
This set is so much more than meets the eye! The triangular elements were designed to work perfectly together to make a perfect "sunburst" background. There is a starburst circle to be used as a guide for positioning making this an easy to use set. With the coordinating dies, you can die-cut and layer the solid circular center portion of the sun or not, depending on the look you are going for. The coordinating dies allow you to cut wedges from colored cardstocks or patterned papers too, which you can choose to stamp with one of these coordinating design elements. Perfectly phrased sentiments round out the set, allowing your projects to be cohesive with the sunshine theme.

Just like Happy Hexagons, this new set has unlimited possibilities! To help illustrate just a few basics, I have put together a video showcasing 6 short tutorials. There is just SO much more to this set than you might think!
Here are the projects I showed in the video in a bit more detail!
This project is one of my favorites from today's batch! It combines stamped rays of sunshine along with some die-cut ones too!
Here I show you how I stamped the basic sunburst pattern first using Hawaiian Shores ink. I then die cut several rays from Simply Chartreuse cardstock and stamped them with the coordinated lined image using Ripe Avocado ink. I ran a piece of 1/8" Scor-tape down the center of each piece and sprinkled it with some green glitter from Doodlebug.
With all of the pieces assembled, you get this. LOVE, love, love this look! To finish off my project, I added a die-cut circle from the Hello Sunshine die set as well as the sun from Back Pocket Basics dies and a heart from Flipping Out, all die-cut from white cardstock. The sentiment (from Hello Sunshine) was heat embossed on a strip of vellum cardstock.
The sunburst background was matted with white cardstock and adhered to an Aqua Mist card base.
This bright and bold card started with some basic background stamping with the new Hello Sunshine set.
This photo illustrated the guide that is included in this new set. Here, I have stamped it in a dark color so you could see the contrast of it a bit more and how it works as a placement tool when stamping these backgrounds. You always stamp by lining your point up first with the center of the guide and then allow the sides of the ray image to line up between the lines of the guide.
Normally, you would want to stamp the guide in a lighter color that will blend easily one you have completed stamping. Since my background was in the pink family, I stamped my guidelines on my project piece with Sweet Blush ink. As you can see here, you can hardly even see it any more at all. One of the things I love most about this set is the way that the math is already done for you. The ray images are already measured and the perfect size to complete a full circle in an even number, so you can choose to just do every other, like I did here, and end up with perfect balance.
I thought this beautiful sunburst background would be the perfect thing to set off some extra large numbers. I die-cut "35" using the By the Numbers dies with Hawaiian Shores cardstock. I then sugar-coated them with Prisma Glitter and my Xyron. The "amazing years" strip at the bottom was made from Summer Sunrise cardstock and stamped in Orange Zest. I embossed the top and bottom of the strip on my Scor-buddy.
the little "celebrating" banner was made from Orange Zest cardstock, heat embossed with Filigree White Embossing Powder. I adhered it in such a way that it looks like it is "waving". The end of the banner is finished with a small Hawaiian Shores button and a scrap of white twine.
All of which was mounted onto a Simply Chartreuse card base.
For my next project, I wanted to go for a bit more masculine look and show you yet another fun technique to do with this fun collection of products!
I die-cut the triangular rays from a piece of vellum and used that as a mask in conjunction with the stamped guide. By sponging a bit of ink into the opening, making it heaviest at the center, a lot of dimension is added. I worked with (from left to right) Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay & Terracotta Tile.
After the masking was done, I stamped on top of those areas with this beautiful dotted sun ray image, in each of the colors. I love the detail that this step added! So incredibly gorgeous.
I ended up impressing the background with the Linen & Canvas impression plate and I inked the exterior edge with the Tea Dye Duo. This star was cut with the medium die in the Seeing Stars die collection from Summer Sunrise cardstock. I then stamped it with the coordinating image from Seeing Stars using Terracotta Tile ink. I added a few metallic details & dots using a gold paint pen. Stars are the PERFECT thing to add to the centers of these sunburst backgrounds, don't you think?
For the sentiment, I started with a strip of Canyon Clay cardstock and stamped it with the "U Rock" sentiment from Say It With Style using Dark Chocolate ink. I added a stripe at the top and bottom with the gold paint pen and ruler. I also added gold dots to the centers of the letters in the sentiment. I folded the banner to add a bit of dimension and adhered it in place.
A Dark Chocolate card base finishes it off.

This project shows just how gorgeous the sun rays can be when heat embossed. The detail is really picked up and makes such a gorgeous accent.
I stamped the guide at the very edge of my New LEaf cardstock block and then added the lined sun ray image with VersaMark ink. I heat embossed it with Gold Filigree Embossing Powder. This photo just hardly does this justice! You just want to reach out and feel the texture when you see this in person! The sentiment (from Hello Sunshine as well) was heat embossed on a block of Hawaiian Shores cardstock. This was matted with a block of New Leaf cardstock, edges with a gold paint pen.
A strip of polka dot paper from Green Boutique helps to ground the left side. All of this was mounted onto an Aqua Mist card base.
For this project, I pulled out my Summer Sunrise Pattern Pack and die-cut several sun rays. This shows that you don't even have to stamp to get this cool look.
Here, I stamped the guide first and then started adding the various rays to fill in the blanks. I just love how precise everything is when I use that stamped guide!
I die-cut the middle of the block above with the plain Limitless Layers 2.25" circle and rotated it before adhering it into place. I just love this look, kind of reminds me of a warm & cozy quilt! I added another one of the sentiments from Hello Sunshine, stamped onto strips of Lemon Tart & Summer Sunrise cardstock. The little strips are stamped in Orange Zest while the large "Sunshine" word is inked with Summer Sunrise on the bottom & Orange Zest on the top, creating a gradient effect.
For my last project today, I wanted to show you how you can use these ray images point side out as well.
I stamped the basic lined ray in a sunburst pattern using a graduated color scheme of Harvest Gold, Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet. I love the way these colors look together, reminds me a bit of lemonade. I also love how they all look on the Vintage Cream carstock. The strip of Melon Berry cardstock on the right was impressed with the Sunrise impression plate.
I die-cut a piece of vellum cardstock with one of the Half & Half dies and stamped the sentiment from Hello Sunshine in Dark Chocolate. I stitched the sentiemnt block in place with a little whipstitch on the side using yellow embroidery floss.
