Most of us have had a camping experience at least once in our lives, whether at summer camp as a child or camping with family or friends as an adult. The sense of adventure and accomplishment one gets when spending time in the great outdoors, cooking over an open fire and sleeping under the stars can't be beat. It's with that in mind, that we share with you, today's product peeks!
Are you ready to do some camping? Heather Nichols has designed a set has got you covered from the tent to sleep in to the marshmallow to roast over the fire! This set is designed for capturing memories of summer camp or camping with family and friends on scrapbook pages or in a travel journal. The images are also perfect for creating a card for anyone who is an outdoor enthusiast!

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first project I wanted to make a special card for my oldest son, Owen. He has been doing an amazing job at school lately and I wanted to create a little something to let him know how much I love him and how proud he makes me. I didn't want to card to be too feminine, so the Summer Camp provided the perfect companion images for the sentiment I chose to use.
I started by cutting some "hills" from Ripe Avocado cardstock. I sponged the upper edge of them with Pinefeather ink. The night sky is made from Smokey Shadow cardstock and stamped with the star images from Summer Camp (including that adorable Big Dipper!) and the moon image from Out on a Limb Revised, all heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
I heat embossed the sentiment (from Out on a Limb Sentiments) at the bottom of the hill and die-cut Block Alphabet letters from Classic Kraft cardstock to add above it. The heart comes from the Tiny Tags die, cut from Canyon Clay cardstock and tied with a bit if twine.
The tent from Summer Camp was stamped onto Scarlet Jewel cardstock and cut out with scissors. The fire was stamped onto white cardstock with Dark Chocolate ink and colored with a few Copics. A few tree images (from Summer Camp as well) were stamped onto Pinefeather cardstock with Pinefeather ink and cut out to layer at the top edge of the hills.
Everything was adhered to a Classic Kraft card base. I just know Owen will really love receiving this!
For my net project I thought it would be fun to make a little card that you could use as an invitation for friends to come over and make s'mores or to cookout. We do this a lot in the summer and it will make the small gathering a bit more fun to have invitations to send out!
I decided to pair up a few of the images from SUmmer Camp up with the sunshine & hills background from On the Farm. I stamped them onto Fine Linen cardstock with Fine Linen ink, layering the pieces on top of one another. I then stamped the marshmallow sticks and campfire images onto Vintage Cream cardstock with Classic Kraft ink. I cut all three of them out with scissors and adhered them onto the background block with foam tape.
For the sentiment, I pulled out Table Service. The sentiment was stamped in Classic Kraft ink onto a strip of Vintage Cream cardstock. I trimmed the ends into a banner.
I created a mat for the focal point & sentiment from Classic Kraft cardstock, stamped with the cute little map background from Summer Camp. I trimmed the bottom edge with pinking shears and swiped Fresh Snow ink around the whole thing. I stamped the Fine Linen card base with Polka Dot Basics using Fresh Snow ink before adhering everything into place.
All of the adventure themed images and words in Summer Camp are perfect for creating graduation cards. For the background for this card, I began with a block of Aqua Mist cardstock and stamped it with the new Cracked background using Aqua Mist ink. I swiped the edges with Fresh Snow ink to help soften them a bit. I also stamped a mat for my focal area using white cardstock. I began with the map image from sUmmer Camp, stamped in Hawaiian Shores. I then added Background Basics: Newsprint on top of that in Aqua Mist ink.
I created my sentiment strip with Classic Kraft cardstock, stamped with "Congrats to the Grad" (from Congrats All Ways) in Fresh Snow ink.
I created some fun "adventure" labels to support my theme. I die-cut a Rounded Label from white cardstock and stamped it with the coordinating frame & word from Summer Camp using Hawaiian Shores ink. I stamped over this with the woodgrain image from Background Basics: Farm & Barn. I also die-cut the Limitless Layers 1.75" circle from white cardstock and stamped it with the round adventure & explore label from Summer Camp.
Everything was mounted on a white card base.
Lastly, I wanted to show how the Summer Camp products are the perfect solution for many of the masculine cards you need to create. The set adds a woodsy nature twist to birthday cards especially well. This one is great for Grandpa.
I wanted to show a close-up of one of the fabulous papers from Heather's collection. The detail and layers she has used to create these is amazing and adds so much to a project. I cut a large block of this map paper and sponged the edges with Tea Dye Duo.
For the sentiment strip, I started with Blueberry Sky cardstock. I stamped "Grandpa" from My Dad, My Hero in True Black ink and colored the interior of the letters with a Ripe Avocado Copic Marker. I then added the birthday sentiment from Simple Sentiments underneath that.
To help add balance to the project, I die-cut a Rounded Label from Classic Kraft cardsotck and stamped it with the coordinating frame from Summer Camp using Enchanted Evening ink. I added the little trees from Summer Camp within that using Ripe Avocado ink. I finished the little label by adding Crackled on top of all of it using Classic Kraft ink. As a finishing detail I added a Ripe Avocado button tied with twine.
This was all mounted onto a Fine Linen card base.
