Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
My first project is a bright & bold way to say hello! To create my background, I cut several pieces of different Pattern Pack papers into strips and adhered them to a block of white cardstock, leaving an opening in the middle. The Pattern Packs included Aqua Mist (polka dot), Simply Chartreuse (stripes), Raspberry Fizz (bitty dot), and Summer Sunrise (gingham).
I die-cut letters from various shades of cardstock using the Block Alphabet die. The colors echo many of those used in the background: Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, and Hawaiian Shores.
I found that the "o" from this die coordinates perfectly with the center of the telephone from Heart-2-Heart #4. So to create the telephone, I die-cut it from Classic Kraft cardstock and stamped the bottom half with the coordinating image from the set using Classic Kraft ink. Rather than use the coordinating stamp for the top portion, I stamped it with the smallest polka dots from Polka Dot Basics II, using Classic Kraft ink once again. I edged both die-cut pieces with Fresh Snow ink. As a finishing touch, I added a bit of looped silver beading wire between the receiver and the base, to make it look more realistic.
To help bring out the orange in the die-cut letters, I mounted everything onto an Orange Zest card base.
My next Heart-2-Heart #4 project has a clean & graphic style. To begin, I cut several 1/4" strips of cardstock. The colors from left to right are: Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Winter Wisteria, Plum Pudding, and Royal Velvet. I then arranged all of the strips on top of the Simply Stripes Impression Plate and ran them through my Vagabond. I then adhered the strips in place at the bottom and top of each one, taking care to "stair step" them at the bottom.
Since I only adhered the top and the top and bottom of each strip, I was able to go back in and trim out an opening for the sentiment to be placed using a craft knife and ruler. I stamped "Hello" from Heart-2-Heart #4 ink True Black ink in the opening.
For the telephone, I die-cut it from Smokey Shadow cardstock and stamped it with the coordinating images using True Black ink. I then stamped the center "dial" with VersaMark onto Soft Stone cardstock and heat embossed it with White Filigree Embossing Powder. I added a "cord" using some black twine.
I finished the card off by adhering everything to a Smokey Shadow card base.
Next up is a pretty little wedding card inspired by Tiffany's!
I die-cut several Chevron Stripes (using the new border dies) from Silver Shimmer cardstock. I adhered them onto a block of white cardstock.
I die-cut "happy" from Aqua Mist cardstock using the new Pretty Peonies die collection and followed up by stamping the coordinating image from the set in Aqua Mist ink. I stamped "Wedding Day" in VersaMark onto Vellum cardstock and heat embossed it with White Filigree Embossing Powder. I then trimmed it into a slim strip and adhered just the end to the back of the white block. I folded up to the front at just the right level so that it tucks under the bottom letter "tails" in the word happy, so there was no need for adhesive on the front of the strip.
I love what a bold statement I can make with these Chevron Dies! And so easy too!
To help carry on my "Tiffany's" theme, I mounted everything onto an Aqua Mist card base.
For my next project, I pulled out the entire Pretty Peonies set and played around with all the new possibilities now that I have the dies to integrate into my design options!
I started by creating my flower embellishments. I die-cut the pieces from white cardstock and stamped the flowers in Melon Berry and the leaves in Spring Moss. I added a few small pearls to the center.
I die-cut the frame using the new Framed Out #4 die and Classic Kraft cardstock. I stamped the frame with the rustic barn board pattern from another new set that will be fully revealed a bit later on this month. The pattern was stamped with Classic Kraft ink. I layered the frame onto a block of white cardstock and stamped the interior frame with Spring Moss ink using Framed Out #4 stamp set. The sentiment, from the same set, was added to the center of the frame using Charcoal Palette ink. I matted the frame with Spring Moss cardstock and trimmed the edges with pinking shears.
For the corners I did something a bit unique. I die-cut four of the oval frames from Sweet Blush cardstock. I stamped the coordinating frame image with Melon Berry ink and then adhered the frames to each of the four corners of my card front. I flipped the card front over to the back and trimmed off the excess of each frame with a craft knife.
The background I used for my card front is the gingham pattern from the Fine Linen Pattern Pack. Everything is adhered to a Spring Moss card base.
For my last project I decided to get a bit fun & artsy!
I decided to use the solid flowers from Sending You to create a bold "tie-dye" looking background. I stamped the largest flower in Orange Zest, medium in Raspberry Fizz and smallest in Simply Chartreuse.
I die-cut the Framed Out #4 frame from Simply Chartreuse cardstock and then impressed it with the simple Stripes Impression Plate. I added a layer of Classic Kraft cardstock underneath the frame opening and stamped it with the coordinating frame image from Framed Out #4 as well as the sentiment. Both were heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.
I added some Chevron Stripes using the new dies with Vellum cardstock. To create a very thin white stripe, I pushed the two dies together, and the small space left between the two was the perfect width of stripe for the look I was trying to create. I adhered the thin white strips to the vellum stripes using a 2-way glue pen.
