The last introduction for this month is a fun new set called Super Stars! It has everything you need for creating amazing and unique star-themed projects for almost any occasion. Both large stars coordinate with the medium die in our Seeing Stars die collection, while the small patterned star image matched up with the smallest die from the set. The beautifully phrased sentiments say just the perfect thing and you will love the design opportunities for the large wavy lined sentiments.
The Details:
- Super Stars will be available for sale on March 15th.
- It will retail for $24.
- The largest stars measure 2-1/8" in diameter. The small patterned star measures 1-1/4" in diamter. The "If I could reach up and hold a star..." sentiment measures 3-1/2" x 2-1/4". The "Shoot for the moon..." sentiment measures 1-3/4" x 5/8".
I asked each of the team members to find an inspiration piece and create a project based on that. I decided to do my own take on the challenge for my projects using Super Stars. I became instantly inspired when I say this piece on Pinterest...
and created these beauties...

I grabbed my seldom used watercolor brush and some reinkers and decided to get a bit artsy. So fun to just let loose and play!
The best technique I found was to wet our Stamper's Select White Cardstock with a few strokes of clean water and then start adding lines of our reinkers with a damp brush. When you wet the as the first step, you get this amazing bleeding effect going on. I started out with blocks of cardstock cut to the specific dimensions I wanted for my card fronts, 3-3/4" x 5".
Here is a version I created using Raspberry Fizz & Orange Zest reinkers. Some of the areas between strokes took on almost a Berry Sorbet/Melon Berry look, which I love!
I heat-embossed one of the fun wavy lined sentiments onto my watercolored background using VersaMark ink, then heat embossed it with Filigree White Embossing Powder. I love this sentiment...
"If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile,
the entire evening sky would be in my hand."
There are SO many amazing people in my life that this sentiment is perfect for.
I die-cut Melon Berry cardstock with the medium die from the Seeing Stars collection and stamped it with the coordinating image from Super Stars using Orange Zest ink. I also die-cut one of the Super Star Border dies from white cardstock, glittered it with Prisma Glitter and attached it at an angle across the bottom of the card.
For this version I watercolored the background with Hawaiian Shores & New Leaf reinkers.
The sentiment on this one is just as lovely as the first...
"Look at the stars and how they shine just for you
and every single thing you do."
This one will definitely be finding it's way onto a lunchbox note as well.
The star here was die-cut from Aqua Mist cardstock and stamped with Hawaiian Shores.
For this last version I watercolored with Enchanted Evening & Aqua Mist reinkers.
This sentiment is another one of my favorites...
"Good friends are like stars.
You cannot always see them,
but you know they're always there."
A perfect sentiment for all the friends you hold closest to your heart.
The star here was die-cut from Blueberry Sky cardstock and stamped with Enchanted Evening.
While I was watercoloring the background blocks for the cards, I also watercolored half sheets of cardstock to be used with the A2 Envelope Liner die. The graduated colors look absolutely gorgeous inside the envelopes and really bring the whole project together.
This trio of cards was so easy to create and not to mention fun as well. I certainly hope you might give this technique a try during your own paper crafting time. It is a perfect complement to the new Super Stars as well as other strong yet simple graphic sets like these.
And to continue the fun, today is a Group Post day! Just wait until you see the great creations the Design Team has come up with and the inspiration pieces that inspired them.
