It's Day 2 of our countdown - and I can't wait to share all the fantastic things we're offering this month. How about a little inspiration before we get to today's introductions?
Heather Nichols is following up her Framed Out series debut with this beauty! This is the second in a series of frames that coordinate with a center cut out frame die cut. We're happy to show you the latest addition for our wildly popular Tag Sale series today. Tag Sale #6 is a great new shape with a special tab to add at the top for an extra bit of pizzazz. This unique shape is fantastic for placing on a card front as a focal piece or tying onto a gift for a custom touch.
I have had so much fun creating with these creative products! Let me show you some of the possibilities.
My first project today combines Little Bitty Bird Additions and Background Basics: Wrought Iron.
I stamped the adorable little birdhouse from Little Bitty Bird Additions onto Hawaiian Shores cardstock using Hawaiian Shores ink and carefully cut it out with scissors. The solid bird (also from Little Bitty Bird Additions) was stamped in Blueberry Sky ink onto Blueberry Sky cardstock and cut out as well. The sentiment from Blooming Button Bits was added along the bottom of the Mega Mat Stack 5 layer using True Black ink.
This leaf image from Blooming Button Bits was perfect for "hanging" the birdhouse. I stamped it in New Leaf ink and then added unched circles of Royal Velvet cardstock as "flowers". The cardstock circles were crumpled, flattened and then stitched into place. They were created by using 1/4", 1/2 & 3/8" circle punches from EK Success.
One of the pattern strips from Background Basics: Wrought Iron was added along the bottom of the Royal Velvet layer using True Black ink. I love how it looks by just using it once like this rather than filling an entire background. Definitely more versatile!
All of this was adhered to a Blueberry Sky card base.
This next project was really fun to create. My creative side is already thinking about what other color schemes I could use for the same concept!
I die-cut 1 through 4 from vellum cardstock using the By the Numbers dies. I then colored them with Copic Markers (see supply list at end of post for specific colors) in a fairly even first layer.
I die-cut one of the new Super Star Border dies from white cardstock and incorporated that with the vellum numbers. up the side of the card.
The sentiment & frame all originate from the new Framed Out #2 set. I inked half of the sentiment with Plum Pudding ink and the other half with Spring Rain. The frame was stamped with Charcoal Palette ink.
It is a bit difficult to tell here, but I used a Linen & Canvas impression plate on the Soft Stone background layer.
This card is very rich with color and has just a touch of whimsy thanks to the wonderful bird illustrations by Heather Nichols.
I stamped the new birdbath from Little Bitty Bird Additions onto Raspberry Fizz cardstock using Raspberry Fizz ink. I then trimmed it out with scissors. The birds outlined bodies were stamped onto Orange Zest cardstock and then the solid interior using Orange Zest ink. I assembled all of these onto a small block of Berry Sorbet cardstock sponged with Raspberry Fizz cardstock. I added the sentiment from Framed Out #2 in True Black and then outlined the piece using a gold marker.
I used Background Basics: Wrought Iron on the Berry Sorbet background of the card using Raspberry Fizz cardstock. I also sponged the edge of layer with Raspberry Fizz Ink. Using a gold paint pen, I highlighted some of the prominent intersections to carry on the gold theme.
Little accessories like the music notes & birdbath here really pull their weight by opening up so many new possibilities of projects with the little birds.
I kept this card fairly simple to show off the amazing Impression Plate this month.
The Wrought Iron impression plate is one of our most beautiful and intricate today.
I added flowers from Friends 'Til the End, stamped in Simply Chartreuse. The centers were stamped separately with Charcoal PAlette ink onto Soft Stone cardstock and punched out. Smokey Shadow buttons finish those off.
The sentiment in Framed #2 just really allows trendiness and style .
For my last project today, I thought we would continue with Little Bitty Bird and throw in the the Tag Sale #6 die.
