So now that all the details are out of the way, let's get on to the fun part - the projects. Here's a closer look.
My first project today is something bright and cheerful that would bring sunshine to any recipient! All of the elements of Back Pocket Basics are just SO happy and fun!
I traced the outline of the pocket die from the Back Pocket Basics die collection onto the back of a piece of denim and cut it out with scissors. I stamped the pocket with the stitching outline image from Back Pocket Basics using Fresh Snow ink. I added small eyelets to each of the four corners to make it more realistic.
I die-cut a leaf from Simply Chartreuse Pattern Pack (bitty dot) using a Turning a New Leaf die. I also die-cut Harvest Gold cardstock with the sun die from the Back Pocket Basics collection, stamping it with the coordinating image from the stamp set. I wanted to incorporate Little Bitty Bird, so I die-cut white cardstock and stamped the outline in Enchanted Evening and added the new solid layer from Little Bitty Bird Additions in Blueberry Sky ink.
The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with white filigree embossing powder.
The upper portion of the card front was stamped with Polka Dot Basics II using VersaMark ink. A strip of Blueberry Sky Grosgrain ribbon was added, which was embellished with stripes using a Copic Marker.
For my next project I wanted to pull out the fabulous On the Links set. I love the clean, graphic nature of the images. Lizzie really put a lot of detail into each and every image.
For the New Leaf card base I used the Edgers #5 dies on the edges of both the front and back covers (Dawn will be providing more details about these dies throughout the week). I stamped the lower portion of the cover with Background Basics: Circles using New Leaf ink.
For the focal point, I stamped the putting oval with New Leaf ink and then added the pin with Dark Chocolate. I cut out the flag from a bit of Aqua Mist Pattern Pack paper (stripes). The golf card was stamped separately in Charcoal Palette ink and cut out with scissors. The sentiment was added in Charcoal Palette ink onto a strip of Aqua Mist cardstock. I also added the "original" circle from It's Official to the side of the focal.
The interior of the file folder card base was lined with Aqua Mist Pattern Pack paper (stripes). I sanded it slightly around the edges to reveal the white core of the paper.
For the sentiment block I die-cut white cardstock with the Spiral Notebook Page die and stamped it with the order sheet image from It's Official using Charcoal Palette ink. I added the "To Be Filed" image in Hawaiian Shores and the sentiment (from On the Links) in New Leaf. The sentiment block was clipped onto the folder tab using bull-nose clip.
When the whole card is assembled it looks pretty elaborate, but in reality was so simple to put together!
Next, I have another golf card for, this one for a favorite grandpa.
I stamped the impressively detailed golf bag image onto Vintage Cream cardstock using Canyon Clay cardstock and cut it out with scissors. I decided approximately where the bag would go on my project and stamped the bag again in Dark Chocolate onto the cream background. This allowed me to pop the bag up on top of the Dark Chocolate portion.
I used the new World's Greatest set for the sentiment portion at the bottom. I die-cut some hills using the In the Meadow dies, cutting them from Ripe Avocado cardstock. They were stamped with Background Basics: woodgrain using Ripe Avocado ink. I die-cut Harvest Gold cardstock with the Mega Mat Stack 1 die and trimmed it down to size to fit the focal block. The sentiment was added in Canyon Clay and "grandfather" in Dark Chocolate.
As a finishing touch I added a small scrap of Summer Sunrise Stitched Ribbon to the top edge and finished it off with a Dark Chocolate button.
This beautiful subtle pastel card is just the perfect thing to help usher in spring.
I stamped the posies outline with Classic Kraft ink and followed up with the solid portion of the flowers in Melon Berry. The leaves (from Sending You) were added in Spring Moss. The pocket was die-cut from Spring Moss cardstock and the details added with Spring Moss ink. The sentiment was stamped in Classic Kraft ink. I created a small patch from Melon Berry cardstock to addd the word "posies" and stitched it in place with cream button twine.
I added a strip of Dearest Jane script paper along the bottom for balance. All of this was adhered to a Fine Linen card base.
My next project uses the fun tie image & die from World's Greatest. I created my own little shirt & jacket from cardstock to complement the tie.
I created my own little shirt & jacket from cardstock to complement the tie. The shirt was created from white cardstock. The tie was stamped on Harvest Gold cardstock using Orange Zest ink. The jacket was created with Fine Linen cardstock, a little paper piercing at the edge of the lapel. I also added a small pocket and tucked pieces of the tie in it to serve as a handkerchief.
The sentiment is so unique and a great saying to help show your appreciation for all your husband does. I added a frame around the sentiment and focal point using a fine-point black pen.
This bright & bold card showcases how previously released sets can work well with Back Pocket Basics. Here I have used the bundle of letters from Friendship Jar Spring Fillers.
I die-cut the pocket from Raspberry Fizz Pattern Pack (gingham) and then added a heart cut from the same paper. The letter bundle was stamped separately onto white cardstock and colored it with a few Copic Markers. The small tab was die-cut from white cardstock as well and stamped with the coordinating image using Simply Chartreuse ink.
I added the sentiment from Love & Marriage. It think it was the perfect style for this project.
I hope you have enjoyed all of my creations today. I certainly enjoyed working with these fun new sets. All of them definitely have more versatility than initially meets the eye!
