Hello, dear friends! Welcome to Day 2 of the May Release! I am so happy to hear all of the enthusiasm you have for what you have seen so far! There's even more exciting products to showcase today so let's dig in and get started!
First up are a few things that Heather Nichols has contributed to this release.
Road Trip is a brilliant new set she designed that features U.S. maps and companion images & sentiments to create a multitude of projects. My personal favorite attribute is the small flag image that can be placed anywhere on the map to designate a specific location. I always love things that can be personalized like that!
The details.
- Road Trip will be available for purchase on May 15th.
- It will retail for $24.
- Road Trip includes a total of 17 stamps (1 framed U.S. Map, 1 U.S. Road Map, 1 compass, 1 postage cancellation, 1 postage stamp 2 "place" parkers for use on maps and 10 sentiments)
- The postage stamp image coordinates with our Postage die.
- Both U.S. Maps measure approximately 3-1/2" x 2-1/4", making them generously proportioned for focal points on both cards and scrap layouts and even mini books.
In addition to the stamp set, Heather has designed a FABULOUS patterned paper collection that uses elements from it. With gorgeous map papers, distressed dots & stripes, all in a beautiful color scheme, you will find yourself using these papers time and time again!
The details.
- The Road Trip patterned paper collection will be available for purchase on May 15th.
- It will retail for $8.

Tiffany Pastor has been busy as well for this release and she is introducing a fabulous new patriotic set.
Est. 1776 is an amazing tribute to patriotism, the United States and vintage American style. With distressed stars & stripes design elements as well as some tastefully done patriotic symbols, you really have everything you need in this little $15 set to create patriotic party decor, 4th of July cook-out invitations & favors, cards to support our troops and so much more!
The details.
- Est. 1776 will be available to purchase on May 15th.
- It will retail for $15.
- Est. 1776 contains a total of 16 stamps (1 star background strip, 1 stripes background building strip, 1 eagle, 1 liberty bell, 2 single stars, 1 triple star and 9 sentiments)
Now that I've made all of these introductions, let's get onto some of the fun projects using all these amazing goodies!
I thought I would start off with some Road Trip projects. Heather will be focusing a lot scrapbooking applications throughout the week with this set, so I thought I would show you some uses for it on cards. This little project is unique & fresh take on a graduation card.
I stamped the U.S. map with Vintage Cream ink and added the "adventure awaits" sentiment from Road Trip in True Black. The "happy graduation" sentiment added underneath it is from Tag-its #4.
The compass image was added to the upper left corner using Smokey Shadow ink. I roughed up the edges of the Ocean Tides block with my fingernail for a bit of a rustic touch. Rustic Cream Button Twine was wrapped around the card a few times and finished with a bow.
I stamped the corrugated pattern strip from My Hero My Dad around the edge of the Vintage Cream card base using Smokey Shadow ink.
This project used the U.S. road map from Road Trip, which can be used by itself like I did here, or it can be overlaid on top of the map I showed in my first project, offering lots of possibilities.
Here, I have stamped the road map in Ripe Avocado ink onto Vintage Cream cardstock and added a bit of Tea Dye Duo around the edges. I stamped the star roughly over my home state and added a "ring" by inking up a button that had a raised edge. I love how I can customize the map like this!
The sentiment is from Think Big Favorites #4, stamped in Ripe Avocado ink onto Fine Linen cardstock. I wrapped a bit of cream twine around the end of the sentiment strip.
I made my own photo corners from Ripe Avocado cardstock using square punches. They add a bit of balance to the project. The Kraft card base was stamped with Fancy Flourishes using Versamark ink and inked around the edges using Vintage Cream ink.
This project is perfect to wish someone well on an upcoming trip or move and also showcases some of that yummy Road Trip patterned paper.
I used a large piece of the cream map paper as my background. I stamped the compass image from Road Trip onto Kraft cardstock with Vintage Cream ink and added the "safe travels" sentiment in True Black. The compass image works perfectly with our Limitless Layers 1.75" Circle dies. The scalloped layer was added using the striped paper from the Road Trip paper pad.
Instead of doing a standard strip of paper to use as a border, I punches several circles from the star patterned paper from the collection and adhered them in a row. I used my sewing machine to add a line of stitching across all of them.
A simple design that could really be adapted for almost any occassion.
Now for a few projects highlighting Est. 1776. I adore the way this project turned out... a vintage Americana project that uses an untraditional combination of black, cream & kraft.
I used the Sending You frame die to cut my Kraft cardstock because I thought it looked a bit like a shield. I then added the eagle and a variety of the sentiment stamps to build a design. After the stamping was completed, I ran the shield through my Big Shot with the Woodgrain Impression Plate.
I created a looped paper strip accent using strips of vintage book print from an old book. It was highlighted with a small black rhinestone on either side.
The background was created with the stars & stripes background building strips. All of this was adhered to a Kraft card base. I used a black pen & ruler to draw a frame around the focal image.
Est. 1776 is the perfect set to be used with a classic red, white & blue color scheme as well, like I did here with this 4th of July project. This could be used as an invitation to a cook-out or you could even swap out the sentiment for something that sent birthday wishes for someone who has a July birthday.
I used Erin's Make It Monday technique to impress one of the Angled Labels dies in conjunction with the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate. This provided the perfect spot to add this sentiment from Est. 1776 with Pure Poppy ink. A rhinestone was added to either side for balance.
I stamped white cardstock with the stars background in Enchanted Evening and the stripes background in Pure Poppy. I die cut the star and the accent strip and layered them on my card front.
Very clean & simple, showing that this set can be used for so many other styles.
Next, a little card that could be used as a subtle patriotic card to thank our troops. But definitely neutral enough that it could be used as an everyday thank you as well.
I stamped the "thank you" from Think Big Favorites #4 onto Scarlet Jewel cardstock using Vintage Cream cardstock. I then stamped the stars border above and the stripes border below in Versamark. I used my Scor-pal to add some embossed lines above and below the thank you to help add definition.
The background was created with the Background Basics: Woodgrain and Versamark ink. Super simple in design...
with the same basic concept working well in other colors as well. I changed the orientation of the stars & stripes just a bit here, but used a fresh bold color scheme to switch things up. Blueberry Sky &
Simple Chartreuse.
The stars were stamped in Fresh Snow, the stripes in Versamark and the sentiment in True Black.
Now for a quick project perfect for summer using Tag-its #4.
I stamped the bold scalloped frame onto Simply Chartreuse cardstock using VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. The center of the tag was stamped with the ice cream come and companion sentiment from Tag-its #4 using Summer Sunrise & Orange Zest inks.
The patterned strips were created with Background Basics: Gingham and the stars from Est. 1776. I allowed the Orange Zest strip to extend a bit further than the other strips to add some visualdetail.
For my last project today, I made a wedding card with Tag-its #4. The fun thing about this stripes image from Est. 1776 is that it is PERFECT for turning the Tag-its images into mega-sized "postage cancellation" style focal points. The background of the Kraft card front was stamped with Background Basics: Newsprint using Versamark ink. The stripes added with Fresh Snow ink. I also added the "post card" title at the top from Postmarks.
The focal point was stamped with Spring Moss, Smokey Shadow & Sweet Blush, all with images from Tag-its #4.
The border around the edge of the card was created with the border strip from Postmarks as well. They were stamped with Sweet Blush ink.
