Today I get the opportunity to share some amazing additions to the May release that I just know you are going to love!
First is another beautiful set from Heather Nichols.
Wildflower Garden is a set that features four flower images that are taken right from the garden so you can bring them to life on your projects. There are so many heartfelt sentiments that are perfect for sending to a special friend or loved one.
The details.
- Wildflower Garden will be available for sale on May 15th.
- It will retail for $24.
- Wildflower Garden includes a total of 16 stamps (4 flowers and 12 sentiments).
- The flower images in this set average around 3-1/4" tall, so they are a nice larger size that easily fill a card front.
Melissa Bickford is continuing her year-long Flower Fusion series.
Flower Fusion #4 is the fourth set in a monthly series of sweet floral images, sentiments and coordinating dies. Each set features clean and simple designs and a fresh font combination that you will love mixing and matching. The coordinating die will make stamping a breeze and give you a perfect flower every time you use it. No more cutting required!! There are so many possibilities with this series and if you love flowers as much as I do then this will be a must have for your stamp collection!
The details.
- Flower Fusion #4 will be available for sale on My 15th.
- It will retail for $5.
- Flower Fusion #4 contains a total of 6 stamps (1 large solid flower, 1 large outline flower, 1 small solid flower/center, 1 stem and 2 sentiments)
- A coordinating die for the large flower will be available for sale separately for $3. It measures approximately 1" in diameter.
The next set I have to introduce is a sentiment set I designed with a fresh modern flair. Beautiful Blessings features a beautiful collection of faith-based verses & NIV (New International Version) scriptures that you will love integrating into your projects to provide love & support to the recipients. The clean & modern font combination is a perfect complement to many different styles and will work well on so many different types of projects.
The details.
- Beautiful Blessings will be available for sale on May 15th.
- It will retail for $24.
- Beautiful Blessings contains a total of 15 sentiments.
Another versatile set we are bringing you this month is the next in our Think Big Favorites series. Think Big Favorites #4 features super-sized versions of our customers favorite sentiments from Round & Round, which was last year's limited edition anniversary set. The classic font combination holds so many possibilities for coordinating with other images in your existing collection.
The details.
- Think Big Favorites #4 will be available for sale on May 15th.
- It will retail for $5.
- Think Big Favorites #4 contains a total of 4 sentiments. The sentiments each average around 3-1/2" long and x 5/8" tall.
Last, but certainly not least, I am excited to introduce the next die set in our Edgers Collection.
Edgers #3, designed by Dawn McVey, features beautiful elongated scallops. With a built-in guide to allow you to customize either a horizontal or vertical A2 card, you will love adding these decorative edges to your projects.
The details.
- The Edgers #3 die collection will be available for sale on May 15th.
- It will retail for $12.
- The Edgers #3 die collection contains two dies, one to coordinate with horizontal A2 cards and the other for vertical. They measure 5-5/8" x 1" and 4-3/8" x 1" respectively.
Now that we have all those formal introductions out of the way, let's get onto some fun projects!
My first project today demonstrates the soft effects you can achieve with Heather's new Wildflower Garden stamp set. It also shows how well the new Beautiful Blessings fonts work with the floral set as well.
This verse from Beautiful Blessings was chosen because there are so many occasions it would work well with...baby, congratulations or anything else that can be seen as a blessing. I stamped the verse on vellum cardstock using Black Noir ink then trimmed it out. I then carefully used my Scor-pal to emboss a frame around the edge of the sentiment block.
I used 1/8" Scor-tape around the edge of the sentiment block and adhered it in place. After adhering it, I drew a frame around it using a black pen and ruler. The butterfly was punched from cream map paper from the new Road Trip paper pad and adhered to the bottom of the frame.
When stamping the flowers on the background, I inked the top portion with Plum Pudding and the bottom portion with Simply Chartreuse. For every one time I inked the stamp, I impressed it twice onto my paper, rotating slightly the second time. The lighter "shadow" that is created helps to contribute to a softer watercolor effect.
My next project pairs up Flower Fusion and Honey Bees, a perfect match! I used the new Edgers #3 die to create the unique shaped top of my card front. I love that little detail and it certainly shakes things up, rather than doing a plain rectangle.
I stamped the grass from Honey Bees along the bottom of the white black with Ripe Avocado ink. I then added flowers from both Flower Fusion #3 & #4 in Hawaiian Shores and Aqua Mist. I added small dots to the centers of a few of the smaller flowers using a black pen. The sentiment, from Think Big Favorites #4, was added across the "garden" using True Black ink. I ran two strips of 1/8" Scor-tape along the bottom of the card front to emphasize the sentiment, and sprinkled them with glitter.
As a finishing detail, I stamped the bee from Honey Bees with Hawaiian Shores, trimmed him out and adhered him with foam tape.
This softer card uses one of my all time favorite color combos that I turn to often.
The large daisy image (from Wildflower Garden) was stamped with Berry Sorbet & Spring Moss. The smaller flowers were stamped with Summer Sunrise. I added this little sentiment from Beautiful Blessings on top of the collage using Smokey Shadow ink. I love how it maintained the softness I was trying to achieve.
The Kraft card base was cut with the Edgers #3 die and stamped with Polka Dot Basics #1 using Vintage Cream ink.
For the flower centers, I adhered vintage book print to one of our coasters and die-cut the buttons with our Buttoned Up #1 die. They are tied in place with Rustic Cream Button Twine. The 1/8" silk ribbon at the bottom of the card was colored with a Berry Sorbet Copic marker before tying it into place. Note how the ribbon creates the third element of Berry Sorbet and helps to achieve balance.
My next project is very crisp & clean with a fresh color scheme.
The flowers are from Flower Fusion #4. I layered them with small Pure Poppy buttons that were carefully stitched into place with embroidery floss that coordinates with Spring Rain.
For the sentiment strip, I first stamped the white cardstock with Background Basics: Gingham using Spring Rain ink. I then added the sentiment from Think Big Favorites #4 in Smokey Shadow over that. A small pinked edge of Pure Poppy cardstock was added to the bottom edge and two lines of stitching were added to the top and bottom.
I love the simplicity of this and will definitely be revisiting this "sketch" in the future with other Flower Fusion sets.
My very last project today is a bit bold & modern but demonstrates how you can use the new Beautiful Blessings on any style of project. The sentiment was heat embossed onto Enchanted Evening cardstock. I then stamped the leaf sprig from Blooming Button Bits with Versamark over it.
I embellished the sprig with handmade felt flowers that I created by die-cutting with both the Flower Fusion #4 die and Buttoned Up #2. Note how I used the tip of my scissors to create several little petals for added texture.
I hope you enjoyed all of the projects I had to share with you today. All of these flowers and beautifully executed sentiments could keep a stamper busy for days and days! We would love to hear your initial thoughts of today's introductions. Do you have a favorite? Is there something in particular that you are especially excited about using in your own projects?
