Hello, everyone! And welcome to the very first day or our March 2011 Release festivities! We have something to offer EVERYONE this month, regardless of their preferred style! And the versatility of everything is truly amazing! I can hardly wait to begin! So let's dig right in!
Sending You, designed by Melissa Bickford, is first in the line-up this week.
This unique floral set is AMAZING!!!!!! I was very excited about it when I first saw the graphics, but now that I have had the opportunity to use it, I am head-over-heels in LOVE! The style in which she executed the flowers is SO unique, SO fresh and makes it SO fun to create. The best part? This set opens up oodles of mix & match possibilities with other sets, which shines a new light on the rest of your stamp collection!
The details.
- Sending You will be available for purchase on March 15th.
- It will retail for $24.
- Sending You contains a total of 23 stamps (1 large frame image, 6 leaf images, 5 flower images, 2 flower trio images and 9 sentiments).
- A coordinating set of dies will be available for purchase separately for $7. The die collection includes two dies, one that coordinates with the large frame image from the set (2-1/4" x 2-1/2") and one that coordinates with both of the large leaf images in the set (total die size: 2" x 1-1/2").
Also available this month is a brand new background set that has been highly anticipated. Background Basics: Gingham contains a total of two background strips, one large scale gingham and one small-scale gingham. I designed the strips in such a way that it is really easy to line them up to fill a card front. I am COMPLETELY smitten with this and will have a very difficult time restraining myself from using it on every single project!

Let's get into some fun projects!
This first project showcases how well the floral images in Sending you can work with other flower dies. Here I have used Beautiful Blooms II #1.
I die-cut Aqua Mist cardstock with the frame die from the Sending You Die Collection. I then cut the largest Beautiful Blooms II #1 shape from the frame. I laid the frame on top of my white card base and layers two of the floral images from Sending You using Simply Chartreuse & Ripe Avocado inks. The leaves are from Sending You as well, stamped onto the coordinating die-cut leaves.
I was able to add a small strip of Spring Moss cardstock stamped with the small-scaled gingham using Ripe Avocado ink. The sentiment, from Sending You, was stamped on a strip of clear cardstock, adhered under the edge of the die-cut frame.
This project is warm and comforting with all of the red-hued ink colors used to build the patterns. Let me show you a little bit about how to build images with Sending You.
I started with the largest flower, stamped with Summer Sunrise.
I then added the medium flower using Orange Zest.
The next color I used was Terracotta Tile. I added smaller centers to the flowers I had already stamped as well as some beautiful flower trio images to fill in the empty spaces.
I used a Copic Spica pen to add small dots of color to the centers of the flowers.
The sentiment was stamped on a label that was cut and stamped with some new products that I will be showing later in the week! The actual sentiment is another one from "Sending You".
I embossed two lines at the bottom edge of the card using my Scor-buddy.
The final touch was a small Dark Chocolate button to add a bit of dimension.
I die-cut the frame shape from a Royal Velvet card front.
I used some of the smaller floral images from Sending You to create a background pattern on the Royal Velvet card front. Next, I added the frame image from Sending You through the opening onto my white card base.
I was then able to add the leaf images and sentiment. Blueberry cardstock was die-cut with the Flower Fusion #2 die and stamped in the center with one of the Sending You florals using Enchanted Evening ink.
I added a center to the flower with a white gel pen.
I one more quick & simple project for you today.
I die-cut the Sending You frame from Melon Berry cardstock, stamping it with the coordinating image using Berry Sorbet ink.
I decided to use this beautiful leaf image to grace the top of the frame. The leaves are joined together, following along the curvature of the frame perfectly.
I added the flower trio between the leaves with a few small dots in the center with a white gel pen.
I added the large-scaled gingham to the bottom edge of the card followed by a bit od Berry Sorbet satin ribbon.
I hope you enjoyed all of the creativity and inspiration I shared with you today! It is amazing how a fresh take on a classic image can get you so excited about stamping again!
