With all of these amazing introductions, I am anxious to show you some of my creations!
This first project uses a color scheme out of my comfort zone thanks to Color Couture!
I printed this patterned paper from the December Color Couture Download onto vellum cardstock. I found the bright, vibrant colors very inspiring. I trimmed the paper into a strip and attached it to a white card front. I stitched along either side with my sewing machine to add some detail. The strip of pretty paper provided the perfect backdrop to add the birdcage stand.
I diecut the birdcage from white cardstock and stamped the coordinating birdcage image with True Black ink. I also added one of the single bird images using Hawaiian Shores ink.
To further embellish the cage, I added a few flowers from Beautiful Blooms. A bit of glitter was also added to the flower center and the bird using a 2-way glue pen. A few rhinestones were also thrown in for good measure.
The sentiment (from Love Birds) was stamped on a Double Ended Border diecut from Hawaiian Shores cardstock.
Like I said earlier, this project was really out of my box, but Ithoroughly enjoyed it and I'm thrilled with the results!
Next, how about a wedding card?
The sentiment (from 2010 Love Tags) and the birdcage stand were stamped on a Mat Stack 4 base and then run through my Big Shot with the Woodgrain Impression Plate. The birdcage itself was stamped on the coordinating die cut and the bird duo added with Fine Linen ink. I diecut a heart with the Love Lives Here die collection from Aqua Mist cardstock, then sprinkled with glitter. A little silk ribbon was also added to the top.
I used the Sheet Music Impression plate in the background. I love, LOVE, lovethe delicacy of it and will be using it often.
I added a few layers of Fine Linen Bitty Dotribbon behind the focal point to help accent it. Overall, a fresh & fun twist on a wedding card.
Next, I thought I would show you how you could use these beautiful birdcages to make backgrounds.
I started by stamping the sheet music with Haystack Palette ink onto Vintage Cream cardstock. I then stamped the Birdcages, stands and bird images randomly over the cardstock using Dark Chocolate ink. A bit of Tea Dye Duo around the edges finished it off. Isn't it spectacular?!?!?
For the sentiment, I diecut Kraft cardstock with Mat Stack 2 then stamped it with a coordinating frame image from the new Mat Stack 2 Collection stamp set with Vintage Cream ink. The sentiment, also from the Mat Stack 2 Collection, is stamped in Dark Chocolate. I love the way this frame looks with a rhinestone addition.
I wrapped a bit of Rustic Jute Button Twine around the card, overlapping the frame.
My last card today is a fun take on a valentine.
I wanted to use some of this yummy Simply Chartreuse hued paper from the new Sweet Symphony paper pad, but decided to distress it a bit. I applied the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate first to add texture and then sanded the edges with a sanding block. I love doing this sort of thing with patterned paper because it allows you to get more looks from a single pattern.
The large birdcage was die cut and stamped with Smokey Shadow ink. The birds were added in Simply Chartruese ink and finished up with a bit of glitter. The sentiment was added underneath, also from Love Birds. Notice how I was able to hang the cage using the small dotted line, also included in the set.
Beautiful Blooms II was heat embossed in the corner with Filgree White embossing powder. I love how the blooms seem to scatter across the card front! Black rhinestones finish them off!
I hope you have enjoyed all of my little creative offering today! I certainly enjoyed getting to mix and match all of these creative elements! What are your initial thoughts of all these products?
