The second set I am introducing is the next in the Year of Flowers Series. It embraces the autumn favorite, mums. The detail and depth is amazing and bring you much joy as you use it to create stunning stamped projects that any recipient will love!
The details.
- Year of Flowers: Mums will be available for sale on November 15th.
- It will retail for $15.
- Year of Flowers: Mums contains a total of 7 stamps (2 large flower images, 1 leaf and 4 sentiments).
- The sentiments in this set are interchangeable with all of the sentiments found in the other Year of Flowers stamp sets.
Now, let's get onto the projects!
My first project is the perfect autumnal thank you card. I just love all the warm richness of fall and I wanted to communicate this characteristic with my card.
I started by stamping the largest mum image from Year of Flowers: Mums on Harvest Gold cardstock using Dark Chocolate ink. To add a bit of definition, I flicked small amounts of shading in the depths of the petals using a Y32 Copic marker.
The first frame I am showing you today from the Mat Stack 1 Collection, is a classic basic. I stamped the frame onto a piece of Vintage Cream cardstock that had been cut with the coordinating Mat Stack 1 die.
To help give you as much bang for your buck as possible with the Mat Stack 1 Collection I integrated a space-saving way for you to have the option to add two types of "journaling lines" to the basic frame image. One option is dotted lines, while the other is solid lines. Each journaling lines stamp features three lines, sized perfectly to fit on one end of the Mat Stack 1 frame. By lining up the shortest ends with the bottom points of the frame, you will be able to add lines with absolutely NO masking! :)
To complete filling the frame, simply rotate your die-cut 180-degrees and stamp the journaling lines again. They come pout perfectly every time!
I added this thank you sentiment from Giga Guide Lines to finish the sentiment block.
The butterfly was created with our Butterfly die, stamped with Text Style II. A smaller butterfly was punched from Dark Chocolate cardstock and attached with a Fine Linen button and a bit of twine.
The stripe border on either side of the frame is actually part of an image from the Mat Stack 1 Collection. I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it later this week!
Next I have a project that shows you how incredible the mums can be when colored with Copics.
I trimmed my Stamper's Select White cardstock to size and stamped it with the smaller mum from Year of Flowers: Mums along with the leaf image from the set.
I colored the leaves with the Ripe Avocado Copic Trio and the mums with the Scarlet Jewel Copic Trio. Aren't they just gorgeous? I just love how they've turned out!
The next frame I have to showcase from Mat Stack 1 Collection is this pretty little number that features a pattern taken from Guide Lines. The thin strip in the middle can be filled with a sentiment (this one s from the Mat Stack 1 Collection itself), or run our silk ribbon across it and top the mat with your favorite 1.75" image that has been cut out separately. Making it useful both vertically and horizontally, just like all the other frames.
I adhered the frame in place with foam dimensionals to help give it definition from the flowers.
The detail of the frame paired with the detailed flowers is just a perfect balance.
Lastly, I have a quick and easy little gift project that can be used for nearly any occasion, depending on what sentiment you use on it.
I stamped this delicate frame from Mat Stack 1 Collection onto Ocean Tides cardstock that had been die-cut with the Mat Stack 1 die. It was stamped with Fresh Snow ink.
I designed this frame to have perfect little nooks for adding rhinestones or pearls, which I did on this project. The thank you sentiment is another great one from the Mat Stack 1 Collection itself.
I used the Favor It Box 2 die to cut two pieces of Spring Moss cardstock. They were both stamped with the largest mum from Year of Flowers: Mums using Ripe Avocado ink.
After assembling the box, I used Scor-tape to adhere Fresh Snow Twill to the bottom of the box. I brought the ends of the twill up and around to the top and tied them in a bow. It is a nice way to add a special detail to the project. And the little nooks at the top of the sides help to keep any type of ribbon perfectly in place.
I filled this little bag with Hershey's Kisses, as you can never go wrong with those!
It was a quick and easy project that could be recreated in a variety of colors!
