It's hard to believe that today is the last and final day of the countdown! I have a few more exciting goodies to share with you! Today is a double post day, so be sure to scroll down below this post so as not to miss anything!
This first post is dedicated to two more new products being introduced by Dawn McVey. The first of which is her new stamp set, On Ice. (Dawn has been busy with this set all week so be sure to catch her previous posts HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE)
On Ice is a set based around a central ice skate image, complete with different socks that can be swapped out with it. And the sentiments? Let me just say they are SO unique in design...you are going to LOVE them!
The details.
- On Ice will be available for sale on October 15th.
- It will retail for $15.
- On Ice contains a total of 18 images (1 large ice skate, 5 sock patterns, 1 pompom and 11 sentiments).
- A coordinating die for the ice skate will be available for purchase separately for $5.
The second grouping of products is her new Color Couture download for October. (If you are unfamiliar with the Color Couture line of products, you can read about all of them HERE)
This month she has included some fabulous doily card templates that you are just going to die over!!!!! And the patterned papers! Totally swoon worthy!
The details.

Now let me share a few projects with you using these new goodies!
(Be sure to click on this photo for a larger view!)
This first card uses one of Dawn's doily templates from the October Color Couture download! Doesn't it look amazing! I just love it!
You print out the template directly onto your cardstock and then trim along the lines with nice sharp scissors. I then followed up with a 1/8" hole punch in each "scallop" to get that doily look. It only took about 5 minutes!
I die cut the skate shape from Fine Linen felt then stamped the skate image with Dark Chocolate ink.
I cut a strip of vellum and stamped the sentiment on it with Dark Chocolate ink. Don't you just LOVE the font combo Dawn used? It's definitely one of my new favorites! I scored twice on either side of the sentiment for use later, then added stripes with a Copic Marker and brown pen using a ruler.
I was able to fold the strip along the score lines to add dimension to my "banner". The transparency of the vellum reminds me of ice!
I tucked one of the Limitless Layers doily mats under the skate, which I think echos the doily edging of the card from Dawn's template.
A single button and a little twine finished off the top of the skate! What I love about this set is that I always feel like I am in such a rut with sending floral birthday cards to friends, and now I have something else to use during the winter months which is a bit more appropriate for the season!
This snazy card uses my favorite, favorite, favorite printable patterned paper from the October Color Couture download. Many people ask what they should print the patterned papers on. I personally like to use Matte Photo Paper, which can be purchased at any big box store.
I die cut the skate from Vintage Cream cardstock then stamped the skate image with Dark Chocolate ink. I was then able to add the sock top with SImple Chartreuse ink.
As a little finishing detail, I added a "pompom" by punching out a small circle from Simply Chartreuse felt using my 1/4" hole punch. The fuzziness of it just begs to be touched, making it an interactive card so to speak!
Another winning sentiment, stamped in Dark Chocolate ink.
I love the retro feel of this and know the recipient is just going to adore it!
When you think of ice skating, you think of ice. When you think of ice, you think clear & frosty... which brings me to my next creation, a clear card.
I started with a card base made from our Clearly Creative cardstock. I stamped the front of it with Damask Designs using Fresh Snow ink. It required a short heat set to get the ink to dry. Be sure to keep the gun moving constantly so you won't warp the plastic too much.
I die cut the skate from Stamper's Select White cardstock and then stamped the skate in Black Noir Palette ink.
I colored the skate in with OCean Tides & Smokey Shadow Copic Trios. I then went back in with my colorless blender to add the polka dots. I also punches a small 1/8" hole at the top of the skate.
I added 1/8" silk ribbon to the hole, but first had added a stripe to the ribbon using a OCean Tides Copic marker.
I cut a piece of vellum to be layered under the skate, grounding the focal point and providing me with a place to stamp the super cute sentiment.
I attached a Mat Stack 4 shape to the interior and added my sentiment using Inside & Out: Holiday.
I think this turned out so well and already has my mind turning with more things to do with this concept. How about you?
I have one last card for you today. This one uses a fun little pair of skates as its focal point.
I die cut both the skates from Stamper's Select White cardstock and stamped the skates with Smokey Shadow ink. I followed that up with the Sweet Blush socks at the top. I dabbed a little 2-way glue on the blade of each skate and sprinkled on some Prisma Glitter for some sparkle and shine. The skates were tied together with 1/4" silk ribbon, once again "striped" with a Sweet Blush Copic marker.
There is a little Victorian Lace border at the top and the background is created with the snowflakes from Peace Be Still. The sentiment was stamped on a strip of vellum, to preserve the softness of the overall project. Pretty and sparkly, just the way I like it!
I hope you enjoyed all of these creations! These products are just AMAZING to work with and so easy too! We would love to hear your initial thoughts on everything today! Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win big!
