With all those introductions out of the way, lets get to some projects!
For my first project, I decided to go with a scrapbook layout. The collage of tags it allowed room for allowed me to really showcase these three stamp sets to their fullest potential.
This layout started with a little photo I stumbled upon. David & I at a Christmas party a few years ago. We had the most fabulous time; truly an evening I won't soon forget!
The rest of the layout is made up of some simple tags.
They started like this, die-cut from Vintage Cream cardstock using the new Fillable Frames #9 die.
I then stamped a few of them with the Fillable Frames #9 frame using Pure Poppy ink.
For my first tag, I stamped the border from Holly Jolly with Ripe Avocado ink directly onto one of the blank tags. My tip for this is to always work at a diagonal and it helps the strips to meld with each other a bit better. I wrapped the tag with a bit of Pure Poppy Baker's Twine. The December 25th circle was stamped with Pure Poppy ink and punched out with a 1-1/8" circle punch.
For the second tag, I stamped two holly leaves using Ripe Avocado ink, then over-stamped them with Text Style II using True Black ink.
After trimming the holy leaves out with scissors, I cut a strip of the Christmas Prints paper from the sheet using my paper trimmer. I love this little snowflake border when added to this tag!
Here the tags are completely assembled.
For the next tag, I stamped the reverse border onto Vintage Cream cardstock with Ripe Avocado ink.
The lined circle frame from Mini Scrapbooking Series: Journaling Circle was stamped with Pure Poppy ink onto Vintage Cream cardstock and punched out with a 1.75" circle punch. I added the sentiment, from the same set, using True Black ink.
The background on the tag was created by layering two of the backgrounds from Background Basics: Tin Types. Notice how the reverse border was trimmed down and added to the tag with my sewing machine. A little Pure Poppy button finishes it off, tied with a scrap of Pure Poppy Baker's Twine.
For my next tag, I stamped "Noel" from Big & Bold Holiday Wishes using Pure Poppy ink. I then added a few holly sprigs using an image from Holly Jolly. I followed that up with the December 25th circle image from the same set stamped in True Black.
I added a few lines of stitching to the top of the tag before adding it to my layout.
Did you notice the button numbers on the tag next to it? They were created by punching the numbers out with a 1/4" hole punch, then adhering them to the tops of Ripe Avocado buttons using mini glue dots. I adore how they turned out!
I almost forgot to mention that I used my Scor-pal to create the grid on the Kraft background, brushed a bit with my Vintage cream ink pad. And the polka dotted strip you see under the photo is a little sampling of what is available in the new Distressed Dots paper pad.
This little project allows the Christmas Prints paper to take center stage...
The tag was die-cut with the Fillable Frames #9 die from Kraft cardstock. I then stamped a few snowflakes from Peace Be Still using Fresh Snow ink. The sentiment, from Fillable Frames #9, was added with True Black ink. I tied the tag with a bit of Pure Poppy Baker's Twine.
I added the Victorian Lace border to the bottom of the card in white. I love the tone-on-tone look with this.
A fun, cheerful project that would make anyone smile!
This project showcases how the Mini Scrapbooking Series: Journaling Circle set can be perfectly at home on a card, a holiday card for that matter. This also goves you a good look at the Fine Linen Distressed Dots paper. Isn't it just gorgeous? My new favorite neutral!
I stamped the circle frame with HAystack PAlette ink onto Vintage Cream cardstock, adding the sentiment in Ripe Avocado.
The mat behind the sentiment circle was created with one of our new dies, which I will be telling you more about later. I used a 1/8" hole punch to make the mat look a little more doily-like.
This strip of Spring Moss cardstock was stamped with the holly border from Holly Jolly. I added red rhinestones to the centers of the holly the length of the strip to add a little flair.
I stamped one of my favorite sentiments from Inside & Out: Holiday on the interior of the card.
I also added a sprig of holly, adding red rhinestones to its center as a finishing touch.
A beautiful project to convey a special message to loved ones this holiday season!
This last project showcases the new Holly Jolly impression plate.
Isn't it stunning? The neat thing about this plate is that one side "embosses" the pattern, while the other "debosses" it, allowing you to get two completely different looks. Here, I have debossed the pattern.
The impression in the paper provided the perfect venue for adding color to the berries with a small-tipped pen. I used a Copic Spica pen to dab color in each spot. since the areas are impressed, the pen tip fits nicely into the nooks and it is virtually foolproof.
The tag was die-cut from Berry Sorbet cardstock and stamped with the tag frame in Fresh Snow. I added the December 25th circle in Fresh Snow as well. The sentiment (from Holly Jolly) was added with True Black ink.
I hope you enjoyed all of the fun projects today! These products go together so seamlessly and will also coordinate with so much in your existing collection!
